  • 1.Ace frehley

    2.jimi hendrix

    3.slash

    4.jimmy page

    5.eric clapton

  • It's a done deal who the greatest rock guitarist of all time is as he is in the rock and roll hall of fame as THE GREATEST of all time. If anyone wants to start this rather pointless list of who is the greatest then they must always start at the number 2 position.

  • 1.Jimmy Page

    2..Jimi Hendrix

    3. Eric Clapton

    4. David Gilmour

    5. SRV

  • AND WHAT ABOUT ANGUS YOUNG HAH?

  • What this song called in 1:10?

  • @1992beatles It's called "Any Colour You Like" by Pink Floyd

  • @BiaginiAlessandro Thanks bro ;)

  • Here are my FAVORITES, and I'm not claming BEST, nor am I putting them in order. Just my favorites in RANDOM ORDER.

  • I cannot stand Hendrix's music. I don't see why everyone loves his guitar playing so much.

  • @xxa411xx if u cannot love the music you atleast have to appreciate it for what it is and what it was at the time

  • Yes George made it

  • yeah i agree with frank zappa but is he classic rock? also roy buchanan and rory gallagher and tommy bolin get a mention with me but jimmy page is my number one lynyrd skynyrds original line up could play a bit too

  • Angus Young no.1 no question whatsoever

  • My list would be 1. Jimmy hendrix 2. Jimmy page 3. John frusciante 4. Eric clapton 5. buckethead 6. Slash 7. Mark knofler 8. Kirk hammet 9. Charlos santana 10. John lennon
  • Page es #1

  • I love this list!! I scoffed at none of these guitarists!! And I'd only rearange like two or three!! This is an awesome list!

  • what about zappa?

  • Of all Beatles solos, John Lennon plays just a few, Paul McCartney a few and Eric Clapton 1, obviously he's not in the band but he played the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and then Harrison plays the rest... and even then this guy is so good that he picks one of those that McCartney plays... lol

  • Where is Ritchie Blackmore?

  • seriously?? everyone is all "where is this guitarist that only I've heard if and he sucks" yet nobody is like "where is angus young" or "where is slash" or zakk wylde or anyone! what is wrong with people? йхсюрофхм

  • any color you like for david gilmour

  • 1.page.2.hendrix and so on

  • decent selection but i personally think that jimmy page should be second. Obviously jimi hendrix must stay first

  • Where the fuck is Frank Marino

  • @cwright54 on the ufo flying behind comet elenin.

  • Great selection.May I suggest Alvin Lee,Johnny Winter,Jeff Beck ,Peter Green,Mick Taylor.Thanks.

  • ppl stop coming with these random ass guitar players like rory gallagher and shit Jimmy page And Hendrix will always be the best

  • Jimmy page is totally # !!

  • Where is John Frusciante and Mark Knopfler?

  • You ever see that video of SRV and Albert King playing together? Listen to King play and you will hear Stevie's weaknesses as a pure blues player exposed.

  • Epic list I would add Trower and Townsend

  • Should of known overated jimi would b num 1 he was so sloppy list is fucked up

  • You're missing Kirk Hammett but decent list otherwise.

  • nothing or noone can topple Stevie Ray Vaughn.the most pure guitarest ever witnessed.his soul, feeling, commitment and intensity is unrivaled.he represents true inspiration and his guitaring will be used as a natural reference for ever.RIP STEVIE

  • @trikashoe Dude, Stevie is so unapprecitated. Best of All Time.

  • GREAT LIST! :]

My only recommendation: Listen to Duane Allman. Best slide player to ever live.

  • Jimi no.1 no question whatsoever

  • Jimi Hendrix doesn't count. All the other guys played the guitar. The guitar played Jimi Hendrix!

  • @VoodooChildsReturn no ur wrong Jimi was the guitar

  • It's a matter of taste everyone. My list would've been a little different, but there have been alot of great guitarists throughout time and they all deserve credit. Cheers to all!!

  • nice list

  • what about bill nelson." bebopdeluxe" now come on

  • that was good

  • Where the fuck is Angus Young

  • 1. Buckethead

    2. Slash

    3. Petrucci

    4. Satriani

    5. Vai

  • @SirNocte89

    1.synyster gates

    2.slash

    3.eddie van halen

    4.buckethead

    5.angus young

  • @superspaz501 1. Hendrix. 2. Page. 3. rhoads. 4. Buckethead 5. Young.

  • I don't agree on the order... harrison should be higher & framton shouldn't be on here at all but the rest you got right...should put Blackmore on here instead of frampton & its perfect

  • Angus might be on a top ten popular list but not atop 10 guitarist list...

  • 1. Rory Gallagher

    2. Jimmy Page

    3. Rory Gallagher

    4. Jimi Hendrix

    5. Rory Gallagher

    6. RORY RORY RORY, MAN!!!!

  • what? wheres slash and angus young?

  • zzzzzzzzz

  • where's Slash??

    aaaaw maaan...

  • beatles is not rock. its some weird pop-hippy music with guitar, but its not rock. rock songs have epic guitar solos

  • 1.JIMMY PAGE

    2.Hendrix

    3.SRV

    4.CLAPTON

    5.Rhandy Rhodes

  • @sangaforthislink Agree with you buddy

  • i probably would of chosen: jimmy page, david gilmour, gary moore, jimi hendrix, zakk wylde, eric clapton, kurt cobain and slash :)

  • @RochelleRockz

    Kurt Cobain?

  • @dtmtanker yeah, he'd be like n10 but in my opinion nirvana had some really good riffs, and i feel he was a very underrated guitarist...

  • @RochelleRockz

What many people don't look at is that Kurt wasn't known for his riffs or his guitar playing skills. Don't get me wrong, he's written some iconic riffs that he deserves a lot of praise for. But he was really more of a lyricist than a guitarist. Just my thoughts. :]

  • 1. BUCKETHEAD 2. JIMMY PAGE 3.STEVE VAI 4.DAVID GILOMOUR 5.SLASH,.FUCK YOU VAN HELEN

  • kieth ritchards 9 he will come to you at night and kill you using the pwoer of rock and he cannnot be killed by any method not even decomposuer

  • where is slash, zakk wylde, steve vai and dimebag there well better than most on the list.

  • where the fuck is Ritchie Blackmore?!?!

  • Whoaa whoa whoa. Great list but where is Brian May!!!;(

  • slash is awesome as well

  • For me it will be Jimmy Page. If he hadnt hit the hard stuff he woulda kept blow'n the world away.

  • kirk hammett, thats all i have to say

  • Go to your address bar, after the word YOU and before the word TUBE, type in "win" then press enter" Post on any videos below.

  • No Joe Satriani? I feel insulted.

  • JERRY GARICA MAN!!!!

  • I think you could have add ANGUS YOUNG !!!!

  • Awesome choice of guitarists, even more awesome choice of songs :D

  • great old school guitarists. To me some of the best there ever was. The most creative and melodically beautifull is BUCKETHEAD to me. Just because of the sheer volume of awesome songs.

  • Alright.... Robbie Krieger made the list

  • ...I don't think I could stop at 10..or even 20...maybe around 40 somewhere and wouldn't even begin to rank them....nice selection.

  • if we talk about technique then it goes like this:

    1. Jimi Hendrix

    2.Jimmy Page

    3.David Gilmour

and if we talk about musician/guitarist

    1.Jimmy Page ! ! ! ! !

    2.Jimi Hendrix

    3.David Gilmour

    :):):):)

  • @branemakedonski Totally agree with you

  • I'm terribly sorry to tell you that it was Paul McCartney who played the guitar solo of Good Morning Good Morning.

  • At last someone who appreciates how good FRAMPTON is!!!

  • I dont see why everyone thinks that jimmy page is such an awesome guitarist, i mean his licks are simple and hes sloppy as anything. I know guitar isnt aobut how fast you can play and that its all about feeling but the only reason everyone thinks jimmy page is good is cause he was in the greatest band of all time not because hes a good player. If you want good feeling mixed with skill and uniqueness then vai and satriani and petrucci and all those dudes with cool italian style names just own!

  • (1) EVH (2) SRV (3) Joe Satriani (4) B.B. King (5) Steve Vai (6) Jimi Hendrix (7) Eric Clapton (8) Jimmy Page (9) Slash (10) Dimebag Darrell

This would be my list and I'm sticking to it. Notice that the first two are famous just for their initials alone lol :)

  • any f.. ... Jimi Hendrix

  • Number 7 Van Halen ? You have to be kiddin me.

    Eddie is the MAN !

  • 1) Hendrix, SRV (Tie) 2)B.B. King 3) Clapton 4) Eddie Van Halen 5) Jimmy Page 6) Steve Vai 7) Carlos Santana 8) Pete Townsend 9) Buddy Guy 10) Keith Richards
  • That solo by Hendrix @ 2:53 has to be one of the greatest, most un-heralded leads of all time. When the wife is away, I crank up "Still Raining, Still Dreaming".

    Very inspiring!!

  • WHERES MATT BELLAMY HES SO UNDERATED!!!!!!!

  • No Brian May who is much better than Page, Harrison and Richards!

  • Harisson? :( Keith Richards :/ Peter Frampton :/ Eddie Van Halen :) David Gilmour :) Robbie Krieger :/ Jimmy Page NUMBER 3 SRV NUMBER 1 Eric Clapton :) Jimi Hendrix is ONE and UNIQUE Where's Slash - NUMBER 2 Where's Zakk Wylde? Where's Joe Perry? WHERE'S them all....
  • wow, you really chose some unique and interesting picks... no you didn't, you regurgitated the same list i've seen a million times.

i can only say i was relatively surprised by petey framp and robby krieger

  • Jimmy Page

  • good list but.... page is #2 and maybe add slash santana and buckethead

  • maybe ppl should just stop making top ten lists if everyone is going to act like bitches...

NOOO!!!!!!! WHERE'S (insert overrated guitarist) ON THIS LIST?!?!?!?!?! THIS LIST IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT (insert overrated guitarist)!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1. Jimmy Page

    2.Hendrix

    3.Eric Clapton/Chuck Berry

    4. TonyIommi

    5. Ritchie Blackmore

    6. Slash

    8. Angus Young

    9. Jeff Beck

    10. Santana

  • one question. where the heck is Angus young he is much better than alot of those fuckers.

  • SLASH!!!!!!! Number 1

  • george harrison is a joke and his solos are bad

  • @kangaroodude34 But he could write a better song than any one of these guys.

  • @RockRampage74 what i was trying to say is that he is not that good of a good guitarist cause most of my friends are better guitarists than he was and for every beatles song there is, i could find a cover of that song that is twice as good

  • @kangaroodude34 Well check out While My Guitar Gently Weeps from the Concert for Bangladesh. He outplays Clapton on stage.

  • @RockRampage74 toto does a better cover of that song, but he did outplay eric clapton so i cant say he is terrible

  • @kangaroodude34 Dude, Toto better than George? ehh

  • @RockRampage74 toto is amazing sir, and yes toto better than mr george harrison

  • @kangaroodude34 Well, you're a loner on that one.

  • @RockRampage74 im not a loner because most of my friends like toto and old hair metal and even tho i listen to todays metal more than 80s metal, i think toto and other old bands are better than the beatles ever were

  • @kangaroodude34 Believe what you want, but I just hope you aren't downing the effect the Beatles had on practically every rock band that has come out since.

  • @RockRampage74 yeah im not saying the beatles didn't have any effect on what we know as rock today, i'm just saying that i don't really like their music, they were all talented, but i don't like them musically, and i dont think george harrison was that good of a guitarist as lets say Matt Bellamy of Muse. i mean he got guitarist of the decade recently and is compared to the greatest of the great

  • @kangaroodude34 But he could write a better song than any one of these guys. Respect the dead, sir.

  • Slash Sould be the first!

  • Pete Townshend before Keith Richards and George Harrison. Certainly Pete is the most entertaining on stage. Pete is quite the showman. I prefer to watch and listen to Pete over all the others. Alot of energy, and passion, and power.

  • good choice

  • I agree but I would still think Joe Satriani and Steve Via and Jeff Beck should be in there o and slash is over rated

  • WHERE IS SLASH?

  • @knocdown5 not on this list obveously. This list was for people who use skill, and not repetative penatonic licks.

  • 97 people are techno fans and have no feeling for right musik !!!

van halen and slash are king of guitar solos !!

    ^^ cya

  • slash is number 1 :D :D :D

  • MATTHEW BELLAMY? TOM MORELLO? SLASH? still a good list, though

  • Rory Gallagher?

  • Wait. Kirk Hammet, Eric Johnson, Tom Pettey, SANTANA, RITCHIE VALENS!

  • btw the solo you put for george was played by paul mccartney

  • @trevwagner094 - yes, you are correct!

  • @Strumrr its an amazing solo though

  • angus young?

  • @101ipodtouchlover i totaly agree

  • This list is more a list of "most popular classic rock guitarists" rather than "best classic rock guitarists". Plus the song choice is pretty bad. Runnin with the Devil for Eddie's solo, really? that's pretty much the simplest solo he ever did.

  • @QGfk1 this is not about most popular players, or best players, it says it on the title, it's about HIS favorite players, and i will tell you one thing, you can't be a guitarrist just by playing difficult solos, even better, subtlety is everything, the day you get to be subtle with you playing, you will be a REAL player.

  • Really like your list, but as much as I love George Harrison that's actually Paul McCartney playing lead guitar on that track. Ditto on Taxman, you can probably notice the similarity of style.

  • ur list sucks harder then ur mom

  • Whats the song you used for Jimmy Page?

  • @novemberrain1994 It's "good times, bad times" off led zeppelin. Does the 1994 in your name represent year of birth? coz that means your the same age as me:)

  • @MrDrwillis Ahh right thanks :) and yeah im 16 in December :)

  • @novemberrain1994 good times and bad times its off of led-zeppelins first album titled "led-zeppelin"

  • @psykochyld234 Thanks :)

  • Jimmy Page is the BEST period.

  • @led96zeppelin i say second to jimi, but either way he said his favorite, that doesn't allways mean the best....

  • IMO, Phil Keaggy should be in there somewhere (his electic guitar stuff.)

  • Ritchie Blackmore # 1

  • What amazes me is that people will put Jimi Hendrix in their list yet they do not acknowledge the guy who taught him how to play: Buddy Guy.

  • @RetroJenny That doesn't mean the master is better, same thing happens with Santana, nobody knows about javier batiz!

  • dude you are the fucking master

  • robby krieger? the doors? that`s a first

  • george harrison # 10 what!!!

  • @GeorgeHarrison00 Yeah! he's my hero aswell...

  • JIMMY PAGE FOREVER

  • I like half of the list. Im always amazed people pick Clapton and Vaughn over the guy that inspired them and was better--BB KING. As far as the guy that created the most and best riffs of all time, Paige wins hands down. Eddie is 2nd.

  • some of these people can't read, the title says "MY" top 10 favorite, stop whining if "YOUR" favorite isn't here!!

  • sh1T

  • Notice "MY!!!" on the title of the video, people. Good list but I prefer Page to clapton.

  • Where the hell is tom morello?

  • @simpsons7148 Duh ! morello is not here because its about only classic rock legends !!!

  • @simpsons7148 Ya! Where the hell is Tom Morello!

  • @simpsons7148 Probably sitting in his house, alone with his trucker hat, wondering where it all went wrong....

  • No Jeff Beck ?

  • George Harrison is first

  • This is a bad Top Ten v.v

    Were is Buckethead,Tom Morello,Slash &'nd Anugus Young ?! o.o

    v.v

  • @xoxoTheZ0MBiEFREAK man, you understand nothing in music :)

  • @iulian4iKkk Maaaan Maybe u have a Ugly Fad Mouth !

Soo Shut up ur ugly mouth before spiders &nd Flies come into it !

    U don't know about this artist ! The're all the same v.v

  • are you people retarded? this is his/her top 10 FAVORITE guitarists of all time. these are the ones he/she is saying he likes the most, not the ones he/she is saying is the best, there is a BIG difference. i don't care if nick jonas is his/her number 1, it's his/her favorite!

  • Kirk Hammet? He sucks shit...

  • Dude you left out Chad Kroeger. I guess he is not guarenteed top 10 but at least top 20

  • dude- you left off robin Trower and Jimmy Page should be #2 behind Hendrix. Also John McLaughlin from the Mahavishnu Orchestra is pretty amazing. Also left off Jeff Beck. order should be Hendrix/Page/Beck/Trower/McLaughl
