@scroogesong1 I agree. This is one of the most beautifully filmed movies. I think Lawrence of Arabia also is gorgeous, a few others. But this one is breathtaking.
I've always heard that Ridley financed this, his first movie, on several credit cards, everything filmed on location and most of the money spent on costumes. Probably the best 'bang for the buck' in the bidness, right here.
Hi That's amazing. It would be great to be able to verify that -- what a great story. Then Ridley Scott would be the first true indy and most creative financing method.
I come back to this video for the little girl. Her face features and expression are root french... Author chose her for that reason i suspect. Sry if im not clear, i speak french
2:43 shows him ran through just below the ribcage(with the blade exiting somehwere around the left kidney area)..but the scene 2-4 seconds before shows him ran through the left side of his chest, considerably higher.
@GenerationGotSoul This is a marvelous movie, and based on a true story. Joseph Conrad read an article in the paper about two soldiers who had been dueling off and on for 16 years, they did a newspaper story(this is in the last century long ago when they actually did duels) so he wrote his book.
oooohhhh! he must be regretting his decision of defending his honor after getting stabbed like that. XD

I'm pretty sure the hussar who startles the goosegirl first ends up a frozen corpse at the end of the Russian sequence.
