2) Neither are we? What does that even mean? So because people aren't falsely pretending the show is still as good as ever, that means they are bad people or not real fans?

I'm brazillian. I love and watch simpsons since ever, and I love the episode where they make fun of Brazil. The simpsons make fun of everyone and I don't get why people here got so ofended. we do have naked women everywhere, whores everywhere, kidnaps everywhere, etc. Simpsons is huuge here too, we even have a moe's here. The people who got ofendend are a bunch of pussies who can't handle the truth. I'm loving this documentary.

the simpsons is experiencing something that all parts of entertainment is going through. everything is getting dumbed down, look at hip hop or music in general there is no edge like we used to see in the 90s and early 00s, look at cartoon network, nickelodeon, disney channel remember when they used to have shows like johnny bravo, recess or hey arnold. i feel that political correctness has destroyed people's ability to be creative.i truly feel sorry for kids today, so glad i grew up in the 90s

It's just silly now, like Family Guy basically. I remember the writing used to be so witty and brilliant and I've always been able to understand the humour so it's very noticeable to me that the writing has changed over the years, it's not as funny as it once was put it still brings out a few laughs so it's not completely dead!

Matt Groening is under the delusional impression that the new episodes are just as great as the old ones. He believes the only reason the new episodes draw so much criticism from older fans is because they expect too much from the show. In reality, older fans don't like the new episodes because the brilliant writers who worked on the show in the 90's have all left and been replaced by talentless hacks.

The younger generation of Simpsons fans like the new episodes because they are kids, and kids do not have a refined sense of humor. They dislike the older episodes for superficial reasons such as the animation is of poorer quality, and quite frankly, because most of the jokes go right over their little kiddy heads.

As a child discovering the simpsons the older episodes looked "ugly" homer sounded "weird" and it "wasnt funny" Now the older episodes have me doubled over in tears while the new ones just make me sad that its not as good. But hey its been on for 22 years that'd be hard to keep that good consistently!
