Mijn goede vriend Patrick kreeg ooit les van jou, Rick. Ook een uitstekend toetsenist geworden. Hebben jullie ondertussen elkaar terug ontmoet hierboven?
This allways come to me .. My father always played it in th e-70's and I thought he was out and pathetic. But now I am a greater lover of Ekseption then he ever was :-)
woooo, I've just found that awesome band from bygone times...and i love that.. how they put the great classical stuff in a new context!! pretty nice and fascinating arrangements!!!!
Rick is awsome! I just wished the horn section and the drums were better. Bass of great as well. Sounds like a genius keyboarder wirh great bass plus horn section and drums from light popular music. The horn section sould be there to provide power and not doole along. The drums sould be killer and not just "exist". Sorry but the truth must be said.
I discovered this band in my dad's record collection when I was 5 or so. When I heard it and asked him why he played all this boring classical muzak he said he'd grown out of it. Heeh? wtf...
I remember the first time Ive heard that tune, sometime back in the early 1970s; that blend of classical, pop and jazz was in the air but these guys were one of a kind ! Pretty kewl.
Yeah man--this music was really great--played by a great band with a fantastic organ player--in today`s music world is no more place for such exciting music--people don`t understand such real good music!!! They only listening to "Bullshit"!!!
I share yr opinion - I was born 1962 and my father bought Ekseption 3 when I was 9 years or so - it is such an untouchable & timeless way of making music . amazing that there is no follow up by todays musicians. who will stand up ?
You're talking about the fact that so many years have passed since the late 60s/early 70s and there STILL hasn't been anything you thought of like: Wow, this sounds REALLY good and is as untouchable as music from that era?
of course there is awsame music created in the meantime but not in this specific style jazz-classic - I am a fan of most musicians from ECM - Chesky or Blue Note label but also
Ah, in that way. Well sorry, I didn´t knew about that before haha. If I look at my piece it just looks I´m only interested in music from the era I talked about, however it´s not.
Prachtig. Waarom staat dit niet hoog in de top aller tijden?

The original line up with Cor Dekker on bass, and Rein van den Brock in charge of the horns. MILESTONE MUSIC.
The rumor has it that Rick actually got the idea for EKSEPTION after he went to a concert with THE NICE (Emerson before ELP).

I think this video and the music were not played together originally.
The Right hand organ and harpsi chord aparently were played tweice, not at the same time.
