  • Prachtig. Waarom staat dit niet hoog in de top aller tijden?

  • Inzwischen geht alles den Bach runter...

  • In Those Years ...no doubt the Dutch were the Top with Focus, Ekseption, Earth and Fire...in UNPRECEDENTED NEW PATHS in music.

  • Mijn goede vriend Patrick kreeg ooit les van jou, Rick. Ook een uitstekend toetsenist geworden. Hebben jullie ondertussen elkaar terug ontmoet hierboven?

  • Divine! Thank you.

  • Is that Cor Dekker on bass in this take ?

  • @pbstratocaster It´s Cor Dekker R.I.P.

  • @GertKozijn Thanks buddy. Always liked Cor Dekker. Great bassplayer. Didnt know he was gone. R.I.P.

  • a DREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Reminds me of Peaches en regalia by Frank Zappa

  • Is this what it sounded like in the Northpole in the 70's when Santa threw a party? His got his bearded helpers rocking it away! XD

  • Thank´s for posting ! Awesome ! Holland is more than cheese, tulps and coffeeshops!

Concertgebouw, Ack van Rooyen, THIS, etc. !

    7 Stars !!!!!!!

  • brilliant. chilhood memories

  • This allways come to me .. My father always played it in th e-70's and I thought he was out and pathetic. But now I am a greater lover of Ekseption then he ever was :-)

  • woooo, I've just found that awesome band from bygone times...and i love that.. how they put the great classical stuff in a new context!! pretty nice and fascinating arrangements!!!!

  • R.I.P Maestro.

  • Esto si es bueno.

  • Rick is awsome! I just wished the horn section and the drums were better. Bass of great as well. Sounds like a genius keyboarder wirh great bass plus horn section and drums from light popular music. The horn section sould be there to provide power and not doole along. The drums sould be killer and not just "exist". Sorry but the truth must be said.

  • Denne musikken førte meg inn i den "klassiske verden" Topp! :)

  • Whow!! Pure genious!

  • mooi hoor

  • FUCKING EPIC!

  • TOP TOP TOP NOG STEEDS KLASSE

  • Nice work at the bass !!!

  • I discovered this band in my dad's record collection when I was 5 or so. When I heard it and asked him why he played all this boring classical muzak he said he'd grown out of it. Heeh? wtf...

  • The original line up with Cor Dekker on bass, and Rein van den Brock in charge of the horns. MILESTONE MUSIC.

The rumor has it that Rick actually got the idea for EKSEPTION after he went to a concert with THE NICE (Emerson before ELP).

  • Would have loved to see and hear Van Der Linden play with Keith Emerson

  • I remember the first time Ive heard that tune, sometime back in the early 1970s; that blend of classical, pop and jazz was in the air but these guys were one of a kind ! Pretty kewl.

  • Rest in peace Maestro!

  • yeah this is music

  • Only the good die young!

  • mit ihm ist ein ganz Grosser (viel zu früh) gegangen.

  • ...he was and still is my big idol - thats why i startet my "Tribute to Rick" - to be continued - PianoLion

  • heel veel malen in het echie gezien, jammer dat Rick er niet meer is.

  • Perfect

  • dit was pas muziek

  • .... rick at it's best !

  • Where is the 6th star when you need it!

  • OMG...this band/man was geniuos!

    RIP, Rick.

  • Kool!!

  • EKSEPTION FTW!

Rip Rick van der Linden. :(

  • Bach would be proud to hear his Badinerie like this. :D

  • Awesome!

  • nice Hammond M3...

  • Yes I love that instrument!

  • I think this video and the music were not played together originally.

The Right hand organ and harpsi chord aparently were played tweice, not at the same time.

  • fred I think you are right - how else can the guys reproduce any kind of music without wiring and mikes ?

  • superrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    thx

  • 5 stars and a subscription!

  • good music

  • Only got one thing to say... THIS i music! As good as it gets... R.I.P Rick van der Linden

  • Yeah man--this music was really great--played by a great band with a fantastic organ player--in today`s music world is no more place for such exciting music--people don`t understand such real good music!!! They only listening to "Bullshit"!!!

  • I share yr opinion - I was born 1962 and my father bought Ekseption 3 when I was 9 years or so - it is such an untouchable & timeless way of making music . amazing that there is no follow up by todays musicians. who will stand up ?

  • You're talking about the fact that so many years have passed since the late 60s/early 70s and there STILL hasn't been anything you thought of like: Wow, this sounds REALLY good and is as untouchable as music from that era?

  • of course there is awsame music created in the meantime but not in this specific style jazz-classic - I am a fan of most musicians from ECM - Chesky or Blue Note label but also

DONALD FAGEN is state of the art in music.

    Please don't misunderstand me!

  • Ah, in that way. Well sorry, I didn´t knew about that before haha. If I look at my piece it just looks I´m only interested in music from the era I talked about, however it´s not.

  • Rick van der Linden - God rest his soul....
