@realzoomy - Evil?? Have you ever gone to Burning Man? You should go before you judge it. I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I believe in God but I don't understand your evil. Burning Man brings out the good in people not the bad. It is a place of love and acceptance.
@mwitty100 Yes, it might seem that way to you, as you are obviously oblivious to the activities of the secret family courts human trafficking. You obviously don't understand what Beltane is really about.
@realzoomy - Not sure where you are at, but I am confused as to human trafficking and Burning Man somehow connected. I do understand Beltane and I understand the druidic rite of the Wickerman as my family line comes from Ireland. I still have to stand by my experience that Burning Man is a good thing because I only saw love and acceptance in a world that rarely offers that.
@mwitty100 Do you understand what has been happening at the Bohemian Grove? Do you understand why all the people are being encouraged to scream and shout loudly as the Burning Man is lit?
I went- I loved it, I though it was incredible. I am going back... and yeah they change the street signs and then burn them the last few days- so familiarize yourselves with the other land marks... the mountains, and big campers w/ flags or lights and what. hahahaha
burning man is a great experience but be careful because once you go to burning man you never want to leave and from then on youll go every year i went to 2007 and 2008 the burning man was an incredible thing to watch but going in the temple was a lot of fun .. it is a great way to escape from reality and party and express urself and meet new people. peace love and happiness from international camp
osheen18, 08 was my 7th year and the most bland. Not to say it wasn't a great time, but the art structures were pretty vanilla in comparison (Temple was cool though). The playa conditions were horrible! There were tons of dunes and our mutant vehicle kept getting stuck! Very difficult at times on a bicycle too. Yet, what a blast I had!
@boozeroyale 2008 was my first Burn, so I just loved the whole thing..... and still do. I have gone every year since and have tickets of this year. No matter how bad the conditions... you still have fun. I sat there some my first year going what the F---- am I doing here? (while breathing playa dust) and then something or someone extraordinary would walk into my camp and once again I was in love with Burning Man. That is the most amazing thing about it.
im going next year =D expect to see me haha just look for a rainbow themed camp covered in glowsticks and frogs =] and MAYBE a 1968 Volkswagen van if i can get a job in time to buy it.
I think it depends on how you look at it. The ideals of the american dream could be just about anything, as the ideals of a diverse people could be expanded to be just about anything. Anyway, the theme doesn't limit anything, you could still build whatever your mind creates.

But, how will we grow on the playa, father?

Down on the farm would be AWESOME!
Anyway, is the theme only about AMERICAN independence or other countrys too?
Vuotaraaputin 3 years ago
I think "Down On The Farm" is worse... and besides, The theme is already locked in.
