@bloodshotclam: Cal is played by Louis Lombardi. (You might have recognized him as Skip from the Sopranos.) He played Mickey in the movie, "Suicide Kings", which I loved and where I first saw him. Edward Hibbert plays Harry. If you were a "Frasier" fan, you'd know him as Gil Chesterton, the food critic, but I first remember him from "The Paper", a movie I also loved. A bit of trivia: he actually had his first movie appearance (a bit part) in 1982, in a movie starring... Malcolm McDowell!
@bloodshotclam: Good question. Unfortunately, Hervé Villechaize, who played Tattoo on the original Fantasy Island, passed away about 5 years prior to the remake. Yes, the combination of Cal and Harry replaced Tattoo's character for Rourke's side-kick and right-hand man/men... though if I remember correctly, McDowell's Rourke had more supporting characters than the original show as a whole.
As I recall, he was in another episode as well, where his fantasy was to be Cyrano de Bergerac (pardon my spelling), and Mr. Rourke combined his fantasy with a woman who wanted to live in the age of chivalry.
