@xeadm Because if sweat was cold then it wouldn't evaporate, therefore not cooling you down because when sweat evaporates it take heat energy with it.
I have extremely bad, intolerable hyperhidrosis and am having my sweat glands removed by my armpits. It's so bad I can no longer hold a pencil and write on paper without a puddle of sweat on the table and the paper soaked (and that's at room temperature.)
@crazzygirl100 i have a similar condition too, but not as extreme as yours. As i read your comment, i became self-aware of my own palms, which sweat quite a lot in usual circumstances, and now my keyboard is all wet. thanks.
Oh my god!! Its been an hour! and Im still going through Lev's Videos! And here's another one!, and one more is buffering in another tab! But anyway! You rock Lev!
@alleentam911 Wait. You are using a type of measurement to insult americans? Ive seen a lot of dumb reasons to insult Americans, but that takes the cake. You are a waste of life. Now go fuck your dog like you usually do, you un-educated peice of excrete.
@allentam911 i hate our measuring system as much as the next guy but you just embarrassed the shit out of wherever the hell you're from with that terrible attempt at an insult .
@InsideDating I can control my goosebumbs heart beat (I can stop it) and digestive system, Good idea I will start on that after my present trials are over.
Panting is better than sweating? I'm going to try panting to see if it works. Is panting less socially acceptable for humans than sweating your brains out?
Panting is better than sweating because it cools the dog from the inside out. Also why a dog's fur coat isn't so uncomfortable as we imagine. A coat is unbearable for humans, because it impedes the sweating which cools our skin. Panting is like built-in air conditioning!
@yournameiswrong We're not equipped to cool by panting. (No sarcasm) People shouldn't have groomers shave their dogs in the summer, though. People do stupid things to their dogs because they think dogs are just like people. Stupid humans.
In just FIVE YEARS between 2004-2009 the thickness of arctic ice has DROPPED 42%.
This was discovered by NASA satellite measurements. Reported 7/7/09

Global Warming is changing our world NOW. CO2 is 35% above levels for 650,000 years. In just 30 years CO2 will be over 450ppm, enough to acidify oceans to the point of stopping the growth of many planktons and corals. They are at the base of the oceans' food chain.
..which is rather funny if u ask me bcuz I was sweating my ass off at work today, and now, looking back on it..I think 'if I didn't sweat, I would have been a lot hotter'... cool. 5 stars.
I personally think you should make more science based videos, for I love science and your outstanding ability to make life seem so damned funny & morose all at once !

dogs also have a system of evaporative cooling,
it's the panting he mentioned in the video,
the air rushes in and reacts with the saliva the same way it would normally react with sweat,
when dogs feel hot all they do is breath faster and heavier than normal.
i hate sweat and given the choice i'd switch to a similar temperature regulation technique.
too bad it only works because of the insulting properties of the fur coat....
