the fun part is that only pc gaming can achieve these graphics , ps3 and xbox360 cant handle 1080p support most of it is just upscaled to 1080p. it just adds more blur wich can be annoying in games where there is none. i have a ps3 myself and i only use it for the blueray. after finding out al games are just 720p.

Most games on the consoles don't run in true 1080p. It's usually 600-720p or 960 Height by 1080 width upscaled.

Actually it can, given at what would be the acceptable speed. A 260 alone out performs both console's dedicated graphics processors, mainly it's the interconnect between the main vital components, which are memory and cpu. The cell's unusually high core count make's it a good media cruncher but a normal Core 2 Duo still falls behind paired with a 9600GT. A 9600 GT alone outdoes the Xenos and RSX, but you see since consoles are ASICs it doesn't make sense for high latency between the cpu, memory

A PC is so modular in a way it you can take powerful cards and pair them up with CPUs weaker than the Xenon and Cell but still outdo the amount of Gigaflops the two console's graphics can perform. So mainly, it's the CPU and memory performance that matters in this case, consoles have closer more speedier connections and faster performance than the usual 500 dollar HP desktop upgraded with a 260. with a decent dual core cpu 4gbs of ram and the 260 core 216 in a 16x slot with the right power supply you can run resident evil 5 at 720p with 16x aa on high settings at 60 fps

with pc games it really depends on how the games are ported and what they depend on most cpu or gpu

That wasn't my point, my point was that the current total computational floating point calculations performed in a second on the 360 and ps3 is greater than the usual core 2 series. The interconnect speed, memory and computation strength of the CPU and interconnect bandwidth on a timely mid entry PC is very close to that of the consoles, but still does not exceed their theoretical thresholds. Given as to why RE5 goes so well, it because of the way it's ported, if the game utilizes so much from

I mean it looks great but take note of the bottom left hand corner. All of the "next gen ready" clips (the really amazing clips) is how the engine will look on PC and future consoles. So don't think the first couple of clips will look like that on 360 or PS3
