  • Sound technique.

  • thanks mate like your series i subbed

  • You sure know your boxing bro. nice video.

  • good stuff man props

  • I watched this video 100 times. And I've been practicing hard. Now I have made this technique almost mine. Thank you very much triplevvv.

  • @ybCoooL Thank you, and thanks for watching.

  • really good vid, should try to step a bit closer, but ty, helped my technique alot

  • footwork very important

  • Lucky punch would put you backwords my friend, Its not good to move so much left to right.

  • Shouldn't move side to side like that. One punch, you'll be off balance.

  • @andytuppen No, you won't, it's basic boxing.

  • @tripleVVV3 yep, thats decent footwork, thanks for video :)

  • @andytuppen Say that to Muhammad Ali

  • @andytuppen I agree he is completely squared btw..

  • Nice. Now i have something to do over the weekend.

  • thanks that realy helped me out now i will remember to keep my fooy in front of me all the time

  • @WAXYBILBIL cool, but not always, if you have to move quick sideways to get out of trouble then go with lateral motion with the feet parallel

  • i really like your footwork. But I feel like in practice that much movement drains you way too much in a fight. Also I feel much less anxious when i don't hop around so much. But maybe you have better stamina

  • Damn Ricky Hatton, that you at 1:31? Looks just like him there.

  • why are you boxing on that giant air hockey table?

  • @MrJoshy1212 lol..it used to feel like that at that gym!

  • nice footwork man,..

  • Thanks. I really needed this with my big clumsy feet

  • Great footwork mate. This is probably the best video I have seen on this subject.

  • Too obious, he moves to much, real boxing, you keep your energy as much as you can.

  • I bet you are a pain in the ass to hit at sparring sessions.

  • good footwork looks good. think you spend a lot of time for your footwork

  • Good Footwork man! Swift, smooth, and basic. Highly recommend this to anybody who's learning for the first time. Good job.

  • Y (diagonal direction + R) = Wavedash ;)

  • stop gliding across the floor haha

  • @DemonsGlory lol, nice!

  • do u think they should have school that just teach boxing but in mma and or street??? bc in a basic boxing stance u stand kinda sideways that makes it easy for a take down or a kick to the leg. so in mma or street fight u should stand more square but still with good feet work. am i right?

  • @WHITENUT45 I think in boxing you have to teach it the best way to succeed in boxing, boxing is still a sport and not a street fight. In MMA the stance is bit different just like you say, and they do teach it that way.

  • excellent!!!!!!!!!

  • working SOLEly on footwork, haha i get it!

  • To me.. the hardest part of boxing is getting good footwork.. then comes combo punches, then speed and stamina. But good footwork is everything even if you don't have a lot of power. If you can keep moving without losing your balance or without having to reset your stance... your on your way to being a good fighter.

This video helps.. but it all comes down to how hard you train.

  • Thanks for this nice video!

  • @tripleVVV3 nice footwork there and your also very agile im gona try that when im sparring hopefully works. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO AND KEEP IT UP WITH THE BOXING

  • Best boxing tutorials in youtube ! Thanks mate! Keep going!

  • Nice stuff, gives me alot of ideas for my own training. Thanks for sharing

  • It is a pleasure watching you, ONLY remember: when the ferocious OPPONENT helped by a better ENERGY (maybe only for that encounter) meets you or anyone, in the ring or ON THE STREET, you always gonna be amazed HOW in the world the "ferocious opponent" dominates you or me..... On that bad day, all training and feelings of being on top crumble like crackers..... It's all about who YOU meet, men !!!

  • When you go back mate, you're sometimes bringing your lead foot back before your rear foot - bringing them close together and therefore losing the stability of the stance. I noticed this because I do it sometimes too! (Trained by Steve Bendall, FSS Boxing Club)

  • excellent footwork bro..

  • @prissprincess thanks! :)

  • i can do my footworkk gud in sparing and shaddow an bags an padss but when it comes to the real thing im not so good

  • bro how can i be like you my footwork is ok but want be like you HELPPPPPPPPPPP

  • thank you

  • Fly out to Florida sometime and train me. No good trainers around here. I'll pay ya to make me look that good. Nice work dude.

  • i wish u did some more slow motion with the footwork. great video!

  • This particular set of footwork is excellent for MMA. This is the type of footwork that Junior Dos Santos, The Nogueira Bros, Cain Velasquez, and BJ Penn all take advantage of. Very excellent instructions.

  • by the way how would you take on a MMA fighter?

    Keep rocking dude

  • @Hackmoune If you wanna take on an MMA fighter you need to learn MMA. I've been doing some for the past year and if you don't know takedown defense, how to work in the clinch, or how to fight on the ground then you are in big trouble. MMA is a skillset and a philosophy, it's not about 'MMA fighters', it's about have a complete set of knowledge. I say try some MMA.

  • @tripleVVV3 Ok dude thanks, and yeah MMA is one hell of a sport, i love to watch it as for training i do some muay thai with friends but i consider myself a rookie i mean i am more of a streetfighter but i would like to train box with you man, the problem is im spanish but i will keep checking out some tips, good luck man.

  • @tripleVVV3 oh man, how can box and do mma.... So disappointed.

  • @Haassan1 lol...I can see why you feel that way. If someone is to embark on a particular sport such as tennis, boxing, or hockey then i believe that you should commit all your efforts to that sport. However, since my competitive boxing days are behind me, I think it's important to be realistic and well rounded about martial arts and fighting in general. It would be close-minded of me to bypass MMA.

  • @tripleVVV3 wrestling and boxing is all you really need kay no??

  • hey dude thanks for the information and as for doing this is effective on a real fight, well i think it depends if you´re going to do it against a boxer or against some windmill fighter with cero technique and boxing knowledge, if it´s the second case, of course this will work i mean i love windmills pussies cause is so easy to catch them out with some of these stuffs they always end up like "uh?". But yeah i agree you have to be more experienced if you wanna do this against a boxer.

  • Nice video! Great mobility! Love it!

  • i got to say my foot work is fast since i use to go to tae kown do i mix my foot work with that and my punches with boxing is some good combination to fight i havent loss not even once so if u are a good fighter you should try it

  • nice man helped me alot :P

  • are you fuckin jokin you are shiiiiiiiiiiiiit . you bring your front foot nearly touchin your back foot your front hand is level with your chest no defense skills you are doing a lot of cow kickin standing square on hahahhahahha 10000000000000% SHIT. YOU DONT HAVE A FUCKIN CLUE YOU MORON

  • @kez0fnewcastle awwwww bro, i was checking out your vids, some stuff is pretty good. But is that you in the gray track pants hitting the heavy bag a couple years back. C'mon man, need I say more? It's obvious from that video that you don't know shit about boxing!!

  • @tripleVVV3 Sun they hatin your joints is official you got good speed and footwork and I bet you this nigga couldnt make you pay. A mistake aint a mistake if you cant make your guy pay RJJ Ali Sugar Ray Robinson all made mistakes. I checked out a few of your vids you def know boxing from a practical stand point and also from a teaching stand point kid...

  • @mookeychase0907 Thanks my man, i appreciate those comments!

  • @kez0fnewcastle mate I'd like to see you jump in the ring with him...

  • Great job man, i wish i had your speed....

  • Bro u look like a legend..what is ur fight rec?

  • Please dont copy this dude its looks cool but its not proper he can get hurt like that

  • @BigJ3135 I disagree with you BigJ.... these are fundamental boxing skills. It's not about looking cool... this guy is a proven fighter

  • Right on man thanks for the killer video it helped alot and i cant wait to practice some of it.

  • Thanks for the vid!

  • i uploaded 2 of my fights,, tell me what u think :D

  • Good tips.

  • wtf is he doing??? wasting energy if you ask me,settle down and try walking your opponent down. A relax fighter is the best fighter.

  • @champ3143 say that to Manny Pacquiao

  • Good stuff good stuff. Clean and crisp motion

  • @DoryokuFiripin thx my man.

  • on your lateral movement you are squaring up

  • @NINJUGGALOTUS I demo two types of lateral motion, one where I square up and one where I don't. They both have their purpose. watch Leonard vs. Hagler and you'll see where squaring up pays off for Leonard in the first few rounds.

  • @tripleVVV3 I agree with you 100 percent that this is a good way to train. I wouldnt neccesarily move around like this for 12 rounds in an actual fight. In a fight I would want to conserve some of that for punching. But it's good endurance training. At the same time the leggs are being trained to be springy and agile. I would actually prefer an hour of moving around like this as opposed to running five miles. Thanks. Good footwork. Keep the videos coming.

  • @qualifiedtowotk thanks man, well said.

  • Very good tutorial!

  • Good stuff.

  • Nice Tips Man, thanks

  • nice vid hope u can make like a tutorial on how to have good footwork.

like wat to do. like slip, bob, weaving. with footwok.

cuz i really suck wit footwork

  • priceless

  • he looks like a rabbit

  • You make exactly the same mistake I do. Too much bounce! :)

  • @simondgrass You guys need to understand the difference between training and fighting. In fighting, it's not recommended to bounce and move like I'm doing all the time. However, in training you want to drill and repeat footwork movement so that your body becomes accustomed to it. That's one reason why guys like Clottey and Cotto had trouble against Pacquiao, they can't keep up with his movement and punching pace. Watch how Pacquiao almost never stands still.

  • True Manny is constantly on his toes moving his weight from one side to another so i dont see any problem with bouncing constantly, just gotta tailor it to your own fitness

  • @tripleVVV3 great tips as always!.. can you tell me why to much bounce is a bad thing?

  • @Neotrigunnerx too much bouncing is a waste of energy, but i recommend bouncing a bit more in training so that you are conditioned to move on the balls of your feet without getting tired.

  • @tripleVVV3 btw are you an inboxer or outboxer? or both? what do you prefer?

  • @tripleVVV3 I agree with you triple. It makes perfect sense. I didn't realize this til now. thanks for goin on detail man.

  • @tripleVVV3 that good advice on pacman for MMA watch edgar vs penn 2, edgard never stands still in that fight.

  • Excellent, your video has been very helpful!

  • nice

  • Ok, that was really amazing! Keep it up man! Thanks for the video.

  • The combo at 2:18 is fantastic, great advice on how to set this up. Good work Triple.

  • Thx. bro. I've watched your vids and you break things down really well. nice job!

  • No offence but your too hyper, relax or you'll get tired in first round

  • hey when doing this do u breath to your nostril or to your mouth?

  • try to keep your mouth closed and breath through your nose as much as possible.

  • how about when u jab or throw a right hook? do u still breath to your nose?

  • yes, or you can push air through your teeth if your jaw is clenched, but its hard to do this with a mouthpiece.

  • I'm only a skinny dude so I know I can't throw massive knockout punches. I wanna learn how to be fast how to have Ali like footwork so I can humiliate who ever faces me.

  • Well, try not to humiliate too many people. But the key to knockout power is good technique and speed. you need to put in thousands of round of work.

  • Thanks for the video.

A question. Could you tell/show me how you use your feet when punching. For example when you throw a right cross. Some people say you should rotate your foot in the back, others say that you should slide it and some say both should be done. I am a bit confused.

  • You always rotate your back foot when you throw a right hand so that your hip can turn into the punch. When you have to move forward to hit your opponent you will do both a turn and a slide (it's technically not a slide, you should lift your foot a fraction off the ground). When you throw a right hand and your opponent is close enough that you don't have to advance forward, then you just turn your foot.

  • Thanks! Very helpfull.

  • It would be awesome if we could see him in a video

  • man so fluid!!

  • This is by far the most informative video i've seen on boxing footwork.... mad respects my dude. This is Definitely going into my favorites category. Two Thumbs up.

  • Thanks for the tips!

    Great vid.

  • Great video.

  • very helpful presentation tripleV. I sent you a message - I am trying to work on footwork for kickboxing...is there a video out there you'd recommend? much appreciated...

  • A lot of the footwork is similar for boxing and kickboxing, but there are a number of difference for kickboxing in setting up kicks and blocking kicks. the same rules don't always apply. i don't know of any good videos, but it would be better to learn from a coach or kickboxing trainer.

  • great stuff man.

  • Great video !!!

My trainer told me to work on my footwork and stop smoking....

    5*

  • me too, and i got ate an upercut after that

  • You;'ll be happy you did it.

  • Awesome video, thanks for sharing. I think footwork is one thing that can never cease to improve in a fighter... However natural mine gets, it's always good to take in few hints and try out new ideas. Good footwork really does give you the edge in all sorts of fighting disciplines.

    5*

  • great vid

  • u the man , ,, thanx, so simple so important,, so far so good,,

  • yeh this is great , i used the jab and hook today in sparring thank you for your video.

  • try watching peacemaker sparring

  • I did. Nice footwork, nice head movement and good counter-punching. (guy in the black trunks)

  • mexican boxing is the best school in da world ;)

  • foot work is good, but try not to stand square with ur opponent, you'll get picked apart like that

  • top vid, your very sharp...and you look like carl froch!

  • haha..thx bro

  • i noticed when i keep my lead leg in front of me when moving side to side every time i go to the east i always end up going southeast is this natural

  • Moving to the right (east) with the lead leg in front is not easy at first. Just keep workin' at it. A little drift is ok as long as you control the distance between you and your opponent.

  • Awesome video - I practice Muay-Thai and I find that I need to practice more foot movement when facing a brawler, though I tend to brawl a lot myself.

  • i'm sorry but you shoudl atleast move your head a little. headhunters are good against that.

  • Thanks for the positive comments. I have videos on head movement too, this was a demo just for footwork.

  • that must be tiring

  • Hey i love your videos, lots of useful info.

    Looking forward to many more.

    Peace!

  • haha, thanks man!

  • Very good video! Always stay light and on the balls of your feet. Sometimes I see guys who keep their lead foot practically flat on the ground and when they step out, they land heel first, then roll to the front. I think this method is much too clumsy and slow. It's better to stay on your toes like in this video.

  • yes, the heel-toe walk is not proper boxing technique. all good boxers move on the balls of their feet.

  • moving at angles is very hard to do on the ring canvas. My trainers grip too tightly and results in a stuttering movement :S might need less grip lol

  • that was a great vid. always here people talk about making angles. and you really put a picture that thought. thanks great vid.

  • best vid i have seen footwork so important helps u so much wid everything u do

  • Nice vid.

  • This is awesome footwork, footwork is definitely the hardest thing to get down in boxing, for me anyways

  • Love your footwork ,good movement no sliding nice.hate when fools drag and slid their feet arond saying this is footwork, nice work dude keep it up.

  • thx!!

  • nice vid

  • I see you. you threw the "Jumping" 3-2 in there at the end......don't give all the secrets! lol

  • whats the jumping 3-2?

  • A small jumping hook that sets up the right hand

  • Watching your video again. I think your gonna have to add an annotation and explain that pivot. I always have some problems teaching it to less coordinated people. You do it so fast.........

  • Thanks man. If you ever go down there your gonna feel really bad for these kids. No equipment, no facility, and the coaches suck but of course tourisim thrives. All you see is hotels and beat up houses.

  • Whats up brother. Have you seen Vitor Belfor's footwark video? It's pretty good for a non boxing video. I posted a video response just to get some views from my training session with some kids in Curacao. Hope you dont mind.

  • Hey, I haven't seen his vids, but I remember an interview with him where he said he wanted to get into boxing. I'm sure what he has to say is valuable.

Nice vid! I'm sure in Curacao they don't have the kind of instruction that you can offer. Ur stuff must be like gems to them. props.

  • cool vid

  • great stance good movement but u dont need to move so fast ur gonna lose all ur eneregy so u wont have no energey to throw a punch lol anyways nice vid

  • The sound doesnt work??

  • song is copyright, i got nailed on it

  • Would you mind posting a vid on sharpening youe eyes and reflexes? Also reaction punches and counter combinations with another person so we can see it first hand slowly? that would be nice

  • outstanding video, very nice

  • the roy jones try a small jump with the left hook

is a big no no for you young fighters.. IF YOU LEAP YOU SLEEP!!!!!

never leave your feet ...and your footwork is wicked good AMAZING

  • Good point!

  • Bro You should do a footwork video where you break everything down, its hard to find anything on footwork or defense thats taught good and you seem like you'd be an excellent teacher.

  • nice vid man will be taking some of these ideas into my training thanks for posting :)

  • There's alot of years in those feet! Obviously well studied, great rhythm, the only thing i want to know about is the habit you have bringing the lead leg back a bit too far for a toe touch?

  • Been training about 10 years, had about 20 fights back in the day (last fight 2004). How about you, your movement is quick.

  • How many wins and loss's bro i love your videos...

  • Nice, how long have you been training. You look like you have had ring experience, how many fights?
