@Yamartet I used 2(two) skiens of yarn and held the each of the strands together. When I didnt have two skiens. Pull the yarn from the center making a ball, estimate when you have rolled about half the skien cut and then you will have two separate strands to work with. Doing this makes the slipper thicker than socks.
@donnyfan36 Try chaining 4 loops joining end loops,(rd 1)-> sc 10 in the loop of chains. Don't turn join to form a circle. (rd 2)->sc 2 n 1 around - total of 15 sc, (rd 3) ->sc 1-1-2 for a total of 20 hopes this helps! Thanks for watching!
thanks for these videos, ive spent years just doing blankets never trying anything else, and i started learning all these different things just by these youtube videos!..i have no car at the moment while my husband is training for Afghanistan, I had no way of getting a job bc im living with family while hes gone, and these have helped!..i am making these and other things and selling them, giving you the credit of course! and it passes time so quickly until i can see my love again!:)
@laurenbracelets to answer your question "No" using one strand they are not as thick and plus you have to make adjustments in the stitches count. It depends how many ozs your skein is if you have 7-8 oz skein using one strand "yes" you can make a pair but they will not be as thick, more like thick socks. I know people that have used one strand. Thanks for the inquiry.
i've just starting to make crochet thingies when i chanced upon your channel and i loved it...you can say that i am a beginner but i think your tutorials are very helpful..i was just wondering how can i make these slippers and boots a smaller size...i would want to make one for my daughter aged 5 and i don't know how...thanks...and hoping you could share more...
@fairheadedSun To make smaller sizes your a smaller hook. for a size 12-1 kids, I would use a F hook, the keys is visuals (meaning halfway making the toe part you can see that the size will workout) I didn't write a pattern for that size though I've made them for my grandchildren. I hope this helps
I don't know if you remember me, but I sent you some pictures of the slippers that I made that I laced up the center . I just had to let you know that you made all the women in my family very happy. They all loved the cocoon slippers that I made them with your pattern. Thanks you so much for sharing!!
@PamBoch66 I do remember you, and I'm so touched that something I love doing effects people in such a positive way. I haven't made a pair oc the orginal cozy cocoons in a while! You pictures will be on a short clip slide I haven't made yet, maybe in a few weeks. Did you know this was my first tutorial EVER! LOL Thanks for sharing that inspiration with me....Muahhhh!
@oliviaandmer1 using a sz J hook and adding 5 more crochets evenly at the 4th round. or order the written pattern at thecraftycookie.etsy.com Thanks for watching the videos.
@13141508si If you go to my channel page and click my playlist! I have posted several slippers and boots tutorials and a few other crochet tutorials. When you choose the project to make the tutorials will play in consective order for you. Thank You and I'm jazzed that you make 3 pairs of Cozy Cocoons you have to share pictures with me. Please!
nequibah! you're awesome! just made my first slipper, thought it was going to be hard but your videos were so easy to follow that my very first one came out perfect! i now have one really warm foot while i work on the other. thanks so much for sharing this!
@MegaRanaaaaa awwwwwww....just do the same thing and you will have to warm feet! LOL Nice ya gotta make someone a gift pair! Also a larger and small hooks makes the different sizes! Count 5 chains starting the back of the slipper for anklets and count 10 for over the ankle for the short ones(more for guys) and add as many as 35 loops for knee high to scrunch down! Have fun girly! Thanks So Much and Kudos!
I'm a beginner crocheter but my mother and grandmother used to crochet slippers for me when I was younger. Your videos look awesome and I can't wait to try to make these. Thanks!
@nipajaai Thank You and these are pretty easy enough for a beginne, all the parts are listed in my playlist! I'm excited that you will try to make them and you have to share with me pics when you are finished. Happy Hooking!
@theh4ck Gosh I some how overlooked you comment! Though I'm honored to be grouped with some of your warmest memories. I'm so touched and anyway crochet isn't for everyone just the same I'm honored! Peace and Love...
@Mommasbize Thanks So Much, you are appreciated, all my written patterns are available at thecraftycookie.etsy.com, just wanted to share that with you! As well you can follow along with the tutorials on my channel page playlist! Kudos
@prettybabs25 I'm just seeing you post comment....and I'll just bet they're adorable! Those colors are warm and relaxing mmmmmmm.....Thanks for sharing!
You are awesome! I love these slippers I have made 3 pairs while recovering from surgery. You made you recovery time more enjoyable, thank you! It is funny - I have 4 kids so my house is always full of noise - I didn't even notice the noise in the background until I read your comments!
This is such a comfy slipper when it is done. I did one thing differant though. Instead of how you laced the ribbon up, i didnt. What I did was took a long piece of yarn corisponding with the color selection, and did a CH 40 then i looped it the top so it hangs down. Then I put 6 decorative beads on the ends of each side of the chain.
Wow, you have to send me a pic of your slippers. I have decorated the front different on every pair I've made I put a tassel on some and decorative buttons in front on others. I love to hear the creative ideas my patrols come up with. Thanks so much sharing with me how you decorated yours. A Million Kudos!!!
i been looking for a great way to make this and this is the best way for me! very easy!! i have one done and now i am working on my second one.. but i have to admit my are not that good.... just yet :)
you would use a larger needle. The largest sizes I've made are 9-10mens I use the J hook(6.00mm) if it is better for you work in 25 sc by the 5th round and add maybe another couple of rounds instead of a total of 16 maybe 18 or 20( for really larger size or for felting )beginning at the toe the remainer of the pattern would be basically the same instructions......thanks and Please Sub
you're so right, Red Heart yarns are inexspensive especially for those learning to crochet. Red Heart is durable. I have things I made years ago with it and they still look good. I have heard it's too cheap and gets those knit balls on it. Well it does but that happens only when the garment is abused and/or washed and dried harsely. THANKS SO MUCH for your subscription.
i just dont get it how did you get two strings plz tell
