  • Chef Frank, thanks for being detailed with this explanation.Im glad I waited to try this,I like this recipe.Im going to try making this!

  • 1) that looks amazing and I'd probably enjoy eating it. 2) this guy is clearly somehow connected with Miller beer. And Lee & Perrin's. 3),4), and 5)... no love for gas grilling. Charcoal or straight wood is the truth.

  • Dude this was amazing! I followed your recipe as closely as I could and made a few adjustments. The store I went to didn't have MGD so I used a tall can of Budweiser instead. Also I didn't have any molasses but the sauce was amazing still! It was the perfect blend of spicy sweet awesomeness! This is the first time I ever made beer can chicken and I will never do it another way. The chicken was so juicy! All the other recipes seem lacking compared to this one.

  • LOL Gas grill, give me a break. Anyone that cooks with gas has no clue about cooking.

  • Wow - your right! My bad... I always thought they were the same chili they look the same taste the same have the same Scoville heat ratings...I"Wiki-ed" it and you are right Good Look Man! Scotch Bonnet, also known as Boabs Bonnet, Scotty Bons, Bonney peppers Most Scotch Bonnets have a heat rating of 100,000–350,000 Scoville Units

These peppers are used to flavour many different dishes and cuisines worldwide. The Scotch bonnet has a flavour distinct from its habanero cousin.

    Thanks man!

  • Amazing video mate, but scotch bonnets and habaneros are not the same thing :)

  • that beer is the worst shitt ive ever tasted.... did they fucking PAY you to make this video? I know bums who don't drink MGD.

I would rather have the chicken without $1.39 american malt liquor up its ass...

    no offense, seriously..

  • @max8987 no offense, seriously... use another beer!

  • I'm cooking a beer can chicken on my Big Green Egg right now, using only a can of Coca Cola inside the bird (no cans of beer left, but Coke will suffice), and an olive oil coating with a good rub on the outside. That method always turns out great, but next time, I'll use your method with all those goodies mixed in with the beer! Looks so good! I cannot wait!!

  • Please clarify, is the seasoning mix you used on the outside of the chicken different than the "Old Bay Seasoning" you put in the can ?

  • when someone has a passion for something you can simply see it through the way he explains that thing, and MAN you've got that passion for cooking, I can just smell your dishes through the internet, you delivered it all already.

  • What a great idea making a sauce from the beer!!! Love it!!

  • Hey Man - Thank you! I've never even thought of that being an issue. Your input is so appreciated!

    Good look!

    Thanks again!

    Chef Frank Miller

  • @cheffrankmiller Can you clarify something.....is the seasoning mix you used on the outside of the chicken, the same as what you put in the beer can ?

  • I like hte concept of using beer with the chicken however, I would never use a labelled aluminium beer can fully labeled coming into direct contact and cooking with my food. Its reckless to promote such a practice. YOu will find that chemical residue will mix the consumable food. You may be making some kind of deal with the companies you plug but you are doing ignorant americans no favours by letting them believe that there wont be issues with the chemicals from the can.

  • next time cook this thing on a weber and it will be even better ;)

  • This is by far the most comprehensive and detailed recipe for beer can chicken on YouTube. Well done, Chef. Really looking forward to using this on Sunday. Think I'll opt for jalapenos instead of scotch bonnets, might be too intense for some. Thanks again, brotha!

  • Coffee and Kahlua? Last time l had Kahlua was about 30 years ago when l drank far far too much of it and havnt touched it since! However, l will try this, sounds er.....different, but l trust ya!

Question, why is this a long weekend? Thanks for replying, first time on utube, good init!

  • Great video! Have you ever tried it using whiskey..............wow!

  • @chef0000000 Hey Thanks for the comment! Whiskey... WOW! That would be a game changer! I like the way you think! That really opens up the way I think about this dish! Try This this... make the rub with finely ground coffee. and put Kahlua under it. Like I said I said a game changer... Good look - thanks again!

I hope you don't have to work over this long weekend and get to cook up something for your fam and friends!

    Chef Frank

  • wow nice one Chef Miller

could you please give me that rub recipe you had on the chicken ?

wow you rock men keep it coming Chef Miller thank you for the video.

  • @rlafontant88 Hey man... Thank you! yeah - watch the blacking spice recipe on mu channel then the 2nd mix BBQ spice rub in recipe, But - you gotta try the steak crust recipe for beef...crazy!

  • You know, I never really knew what to do with the beer in the cans after cooking, , , Now I have a few sauce Ideas of my own I'd like to try out the next time I make a Beer Can Chicken ! Thanks for the inspiration :o)

  • awesome recipe! I made it for dinner tonight and it was outstanding.

  • frank, what is the recipe for the spice rub?

  • Great. I will try this. What are the ingredients for the dry rub mix? Did you leave skin on the chicken?

  • Comment removed

  • Brine the chic for a day in salted water with pepper, garlic and any other spice. Also rub the underside of the skin. Cut the entire top off the can with a can opener. It lets more steam come out inside. Use tongs to take off can. The rest of your video is great, epecially the after sauce. Some people use a light cheap wine instead of beer. Clean and reuse can for te next time. There are some heavy duty beer can chicken holders in the market that are well worth it. Cool!

  • Great video, super clear tips its one of my favorites now!! I know what my next bbq will be serving!! Unfortunatelly I don't get old bay down here, could I use tony chacheres instead, would it totally change the recepie or could it work??

  • Frank - I made this last night and it was out of this world incredible! Thanks!

  • I like how he whispers over the gravy while it's cooking on the stove.

  • @lalalaina4life

yeah.. well, not to worry - I've got much worse than that check out some of the other videos... hope you enjoy!

  • @lalalaina4life

Thank you for putting my videos up on your favorites!

    That;s very nice!

    FM

  • at what temp did you set the grill at?

  • @lalalaina4life

I cook the chickens on the lowest setting. I keep the grill internal temp between 300 - 350.

  • Hey man... I put the Old Bay in the can of beer with the butter, garlic and habanaro peppers, then reduce that to make a sauce. Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

    Thanks for watching

    Frank

  • Did you put ,old bay on the inside or the outside

  • Chef Frank...yummmy. This is fabulous. I cannot wait to try it. Miss you.
