btw i have 2 partitions. wha will happen if i transfer from 160 to 500gb? will it still be 160 on the 500gb and the rest of space will be useless? thanks again!
if i have 160gb hard drive on my laptop and i would clone it on a portable(not external coz external is connected to usb and has power plug and portable is just usb connected, right?) with 500gb. will it do? And will i be able to use the remaining space of that drive or after cloning, only 160gb will be used from 500gb and the rest will be useless? thanks in advance
Dude you say there is a harddive connected to your computer, the you say is mounted in your coputer.. WHAT THE HELL? you explain nothing but how to use the HC clone.
i noticed something my computer broke a while ago and i put it in another messed up computer with the same operating system and it worked i tried putting a hard drive with a newer operating system and it didnt work it looks like it will only work with the same operating system at least i recovered all my files all from smallest to the biggest file on it
PLEASE HELP ME...I cloned my hd to a bigger hd and it clone perfectly except that it made my bigger harddrive the same size as the source harddrive. What did I do wrong and can this be fixed or did I just screw myself?
@frankdukes619 You didn't set the partition on your new drive to be larger than the old one. The old partition was cloned in the same size as the old one. 1month ago but I thought I could help.
HD Clone free version 4.0. I cloned my 111 GB hard drive successfully but took 22 hours to do. Was only copying around 1600 kb/sec. Very slow but still free. gyates22
To continue. When I have cloned the new hard drive and replaced it as a master, is the new hard drive named C:? Is it a 100% clone? As I am not an expert, and my computer is old, I don't know what 'Disc Doctor means neither do I know what minesweeper XD mean. My OS is Microsoft XP Pro.
Do I have to fix some boot diskett or something like that?
I appreciate some advise.
I received the HD Clone software as a link from the supplier. I have installed the HD Clone software.
So you connected the new hard drive as a slave into the flex & switch in the computer? Did I hear USB (I suppose not)? I must say that the info in the beginning how to connect is difficult for me to understand. You say enclosure. What is that? Connecting as a slave, or? Please inform. I have purchased the Standard Edition and I'm going to buy a hard disk now.
@stalkersas can someone helpe me pls? i cloned my laptop's 240 gb hdd to a 500 usb hdd, it worked perfectly, no erors, i manualy adjusted the size of all my partitions (4) at the begining, at the end it says it completed succesfuly, and when i switch the hdds and turn on my laptop... it says can;t find windows\sistem32\winload.exe i checked on the hdd to see if the file is mising, but it's there. ani ideas? :(
@stalkersas Ok, thank you for info. But I have further questions. I have also printed out the whole 'Help section' from the software. Is this the right way to do it?
1. I have no power on the computer. I connect the new (empty, new, hard drive) as a slave into the computer. and I start the computer. I start the 'HD CLONE" software.
2. I start the cloning process
3. I replace the old (original) hard drive and connect the new cloned hard drive as a master hard drive (fix the jumpers).
@stalkersas Thank you BHtechnology. This was a great tip, this video. I have the same question as stalkersas. Do I have to format the new hard drive before cloning, or? 2nd - didn't understand the last info on naming the cloned, new, hard drive (but I will look at this video again). I don't understand English perfect. My computer is old, and one day the HD may crash (so I appreciate this info). Anyway, when I have done this, I suppose I can use the old hard drive as a back up? =Yes.
@petereuropa i fixed that problem 5 min after i posted this coment XD just inert the widows cd/dvd and in the install wizzard choase fix, not install. it will fix it in a few min and the it works perfectly, no difference, all programs work great, not data lost or anithing, no options reset. perfect clone. btw, scan the new hdd with disk doctor if you experence huge delays or things, like 30 sec to enter minesweeper XD. and u do not need to format new hdd.
Thanks bud. Worked like a charm. Upgraded to an SSD on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer without any problem. Used Easeus before without problems, but it wouldn't make me a bootable clone this time. HDClone got it done. Thanks.
@JordyBT I'm saying install drivers: Try to get another mouse/keyboard working with the computer. Then install all the drivers available for your computer.
@BHtechnology I know it's a bit late but the external drive is actually an internal connected with a SATA to USB cable and i need to install Windows to it.....Could one install Windows to an external HDD?
i waz all the day searching 4 a tutorial of "how to clone a HDD". i tried 3 programs and it doesnt werk :( i hope that with this program will work... i got an 250GB (full of videogames xD) and i want to change it with a 500 one :D
