  • AMAZING

  • @dark666shredder Thanks!

  • Thank you for sharing a great playing guitar.

  • @deanwest15 Thank you!

  • Super fast.

  • Great! Amazing licks.

  • I can practise alot everyday for years and play that fast...... Noooo, I can´t.... My left hand and the right one are their own worst enemies and refuse to corprate on fast level......

Great videos and teaching. Thanks for that.... :)

  • not entirely impressive

  • you in a hurry?

seriously, i don't like the style and sound very much but you're damn good!

  • @DerEchteBold Thanks for the words. Very rare to have someone dislike the stuff but like the skill :-)

  • Great, but can you play smoke on the water?

  • allmost looks like your holding a coin

  • It's called a "chop builder." It's not supposed to be musical, but rather a tool to train your dexterity on the guitar.

honestly, people are saying "not impressive" or "it's not musical, it's boring." You're just making excuses not to practice. Swallow your pride and sit down with a metronome, honestly.

  • Guitar player is great.

  • Guitar playing is great.

  • Good video.

  • Your playing is sick Claus..How, what, when do you eat, sleep, drink, shower, go to the john, shave, change clothes do you even wear socks and shoes?? When your not playing you have to be getting laid Bro!!? I don't see you sleeping for more than 45 minutes a night..Dude, thats some of the fastest guitar playing I've ever heard in my pathetic miserable non playing guitar ass ever!!! Claus, why do you crush our dreams with outrageous beatings you put on us?? Great stuff always our pleasure! ; )

  • Do you hold the pick tightly or gently? What gauge strings do you use? What effect does kryptonite have on you?

  • good to see more people shredding a strat, its the way i say! great playing too

  • so... you've got what seems to be a metal pick...

doesn't it like... charge up when you rub it into the guitar strings xD?

just like when you get a small balloon and rub on a sweeter or something like that?

  • ths is cleaner than yngwie malmsteen!

  • @Strateuphoria check out my two acoustic videos. I'm playing on a cheap spanish guitar with impossible action and a very fat neck. It's quite possible to play fast on an instrument that isn't easy to play but it takes a lot more force and energy. If you like the sound of the 10s you might want to try strings made of nickel as they are softer and easier to play. But you might not like the sound. I use 9s by the way.

  • @wizardofshred ok, you Win the olympic gold for the fastest :)

  • Hello,

    It's very good !

    Jo

  • Sick! O-O

  • that's just bananas

  • bb king can hang on three notes for a half an hour which is great i love it but the more things you put in your little chest of knowledge only opens doors into hallways out to the streets and on the stage!!! awesome playing!!

  • @commando7144 Are wise man you are, I say...

  • @wizardofshred nice ,Scalloped frets, you better slow down!Remember there's wood under them strings, you wouldnt want to burn up a nice guitar like that !!! great playing dude!!!!

  • you should join my music network hot spot. you can put your videos there.

daily motion .com / ms radio network

    thanks for the friend request

  • Sorry, not very musical to my ears, even for shredding which I believe can be very musical and exciting. Very fast though.

  • dammmnnnnn:O

  • i must get to work immediatly and learn these licks, thank you my fellow shredder.

  • Oh my fucking god! The queen of shredding! Im in love! \m/

  • ...great!

  • @DANizDAN The licks lessons involved me describing everything I do in detail. So it's a "personal" one on one lesson. And the licks on these videos are not to be found on the website of course. The alternate picking training system is another story completely. It doesn't really look like any other program I've come across. But you have to experience it to really get an idea of what I mearn :o) Thanks for commenting

  • Fantastic*****

  • @TheMScaracola Thanks a lot!

  • super!

  • @Skorbi09 Nice of you to write that...

  • Congratulation! Astonishing!

  • @GBWagner1 Thanks :o)

  • Awesome playing. Laura

  • @laurabrake1 Thanks :o)

  • hello mis cinco deditos arriba,,,,,,kisss,,,,,MARTA

  • @MARTASELECTIVA Thanks! - I think... :)

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • @flowerdrop1 It's a Daphne blue Squier Deluxe :-)

  • sei un grande!!

  • @nuntrovunent Great! Thanks

  • what scale are you playing mostly ?

  • @sXe170 Natural Minor and Harmonic Minor. I can't remember what key I was playing in. Thanks for asking

  • Cool :D

  • Whizardofshit!!!!

  • I dont like any of this blehhh blaaahhh no "soul" at all (kids stuff)

Not impressed it is realy boring!!!

  • @badmuts72 Speed my friend creates drama and builds up tension which are also emotions.....so the no soul bullshit doesnt fly.....there is a reason that so many people like it...maybe its not your cup of tea the same way bending a note to..infinity isnt someone elses preference......And if you didnt get it already its an exercise lick from an instructional dvd not a musical piece......

  • @badmuts72 I can only agree

  • @badmuts72 Agreed. Although the technique itself is impressive... he doesn't say anything with the sounds he's making. Just nonsense and gives me a headache.

  • @badmuts72 It's a display of what devoted practice can achieve (I respect that): not of the most beautiful melodies strung together to please ignorant people like you who can't appreciate class and hard work. Maybe you don't like it, and i'm not saying you should, but I am saying you should be impressed at the sheer technical value. Moreover, I don't really know what kind of music you were expecting when you clicked on a video with the word "flying" in it... just to make that stupid comment?

  • 'nuff said

  • sounds like shit

  • @ninenickelz to be completely accurate, it sounds like DOG shit. This has to be a joke! hahaha! That's some of the worst beginner bullshit playing I have ever seen.

  • you suck, take some lessons.

  • I Thought This Was A Guitar Lesson? Not A Video Of A Guitarist Showing Off!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 Well, the show off is meant to be inspiring. I inspires me to watch others do the same so. But it's a show off alright :) You'll find the lesson at the end of the video and the tabs on my website. Have fun.

  • what fingering would you use to do a major scale on one string? (both up and down)

  • @jcfbell3001 I wouldn't play the scale up and down on one string unless I was doing a sequence of notes. If that is the case I take three notes and consider them one position or one group of notes if you will. Then I might change to another set of three notes on the same string, and when I do I move my hand so that I can play the lowest out of the three notes with my index finger. Does that make sense at all??

  • @wizardofshred

thanks for the reply, yes it does make sense...i am a violinist, and i have adapted some of my scales to guitar, but some of the shifts that are practical on violin are really too large of a distance to cover on a fast scale...

  • killer claus. hey. i uploaded a new video. if you could check it out and tell me what you think. and point out anything i am doing wrong. it's defaulted on my channel. i am striving everyday for you ability!

  • ahh fuck off

  • Im sorry but this isn't music! Music has feeling and emotion this is just notes! Sorry

  • That is why this is called a lick... Also, this guy is amazing... he has an amazing tone with such a cheap guitar.. i checked your vid.. you sound like you are playing with a squier with a JEM LOL.. also playing crazy train on a JEM . . . kill urself plz

  • Since I uploaded those videos about 2 and a half years ago now a lot has changed! And i wasn't even playing long when i uploaded them! When it comes to songs, i think, notes should be quality not quantity! Sorry if that offends your feeble little mind!! Oh and there's a surprise! You don't have any videos! Imagine that, douche bag talking shit on youtube but nothing to back it up! ...and crazy train was a request... by one of my 624 subscribers!

  • hey Wiz- you see danielozb? Search him- he is awsome! And so are you :) search danielozb danielozb look for him in a grey window sittting on a stool killing it. Mike W danielozb

  • i got the similar problem too..i'm wondering where i should exactly use.i'm always using half thumb and hlaf wrist..is that ok? i think some people use there thumb only like Rand Rhoads but most peoply like Andy timmons John Petrucci.Paul Gilbert..they all use wrist only..i just can't tell the advantages and the disadvantages..

  • I can't tell the advantages of "thumb picking" because I never practiced it. But if you where my student, I would tell you to pick with the wrist unless you where already picking successfully with your thumb. when in doubt, go with what works for most people. That's what I do anyway :-)

  • One question that might help me a bit to figure out which muscles you use to pick Claus (unless you know already): if you were to speed pick as fast as you could until you got fatigued, can you identify where you feel the burn? Upper forearm? lower? back, front, side,? etc... I still have to conquer this stupid wrist waggle problem and am not sure where to visualize picking from to make it stop.

  • I don't feel a burn. And that should be your goal. Neither of my hands or arms are experiencing any fatique when I play. But you'll get to this point as well it's just a matter of time and energy. Use the muscles in your hand and wrist to pick. For most people, using this method, will slow them down in the beginning. So it takes some discipline to do it. Then practice picking stricly up and down. You can practice these straight up and down movements without the guitar.

  • Imagine throwing a fishing rod with your hand only. Make your hand go up and down in resist the circular "strumming" movements that your brain want's to make. Some people speed pick by locking their wrist while using their arm to do the up and down movements. You should perform the same picking motions but with your hand only. Resist using any part of your arm to do the picking at all cost. Speed will follow if you are persistent enough. And you'll end up having one picking technique.

  • Instead of one for slow notes and one for fast ones. (Hand and arm) I hopw that helps you out?

  • Yes, that is helpful and you're right on the money, I have a slow picking technique and something must be changing when I speed up. Basically I am able to execute the motion you described slowly, but that casting motion you referred to jolts my wrist back and fourth due to momentum when I speed up. It's uber annoying. I guess it's just going to take patients and perseverance in the end because I've changed my picking technique so many times now it's insane, and not helping.

  • There must be other muscles that stabilize the wrist and forearm when doing this motion, and I haven't developed them yet or something. In order to get my wrist to remain still and my hand to move like it's on a hinge, there is a certain degree of tension involved in keeping my arm still. Hopefully over time as the stabilizer muscles develop, I won't feel as tense and they will act more naturally. I've tried the thumb and forefinger picking thing and it's ok, but I'd like to wrist pick.

  • I'll P.M. you some links to some guys (not pros) who are great pickers whose techniques I've tried to emulate. Now I'm trying to emulate yours.

  • Danish Dynamite

    5*

    Robin :o)

  • Hopefully with some amount of German precision :o) Thanks

  • It's very cool play!

  • Well thanks!

  • what is the name for the color of this strat?

  • Daphhe blue. And it's a Squier deluxe : )

  • AWESOME...

  • Thanks! : )

  • I really Appreciate the reply You would probably get a kick out of me because I was an old slow hand guitarist. My pinky finger and my 3erd finger are having that Rubber effect. There lazy and need exactly what you teach I am Sure Between You Theodor Ziras and All the rest of you guys I think You Can Take Me Where I Want To Go Thank You.God Bless You And Yours.

  • I have many years under my belt but I am just Now Learning arpeggio type solos and These interesting melodic speed tricks and to me its like a whole new world its Like Starting all over Again with a different approach I Hope To Be Worthy of the patience involved I do understand dedication with the proper time brings proper results. I LOVE YOUR TECHNICAL RESULTS AMAZING (PEACE)

  • Great. There's nothing like diving into something new. It's a rare thing to see people step out into complete uncertainty again, after they have mastered one thing. Being an amateur all over again is not a very attractive proposition. But it's where all the fun is! : ) The skills are super attainable. The biggest obstacle for people is the belief that it takes some special talent. If you can get rid of that idea, you can do anything. Thanks for the compliment!

  • Awesome playing as usual Claus :) Can't wait to get your Alternate Picking collection!

Quick question though :P Is you're Strat' a stock Fender one? I know there's a hot rails in the bridge but I'm just curious as I remember seeing the headstock in another one of your videos and I'm sure it didn't say Fender :S

    Cheers! :)

  • It's a Squier Deluxe with two Dimarzio Red Velvets and a Dimarzio Chopper in the bridge. I went through a lot of guitars and pick ups before I hit the right one. The Deluxe is made of baswood which works extremely well with the distorted sound. It's a very light weight guitar and the neck is just amazing. The stock pickups are really high quality too. The only thing that you must get rid of is the volume and tone pots. Change those to Fenders and the sound opens up.

  • An added bonus is that the trem moves both up and down. It's different from an original Fender trem in that it floats above the body of the guitar and this allows you to go both up and down. I hope that clears things up for you : )

  • Rocket sauce! How did you get your left hand so fast? Amazing! I do your 4-3-1 + 4 descending drill on the E and B strings that you discuss in your fretboard freedom video. It's great because that three finger descending combo is a real weak point in my playing. I'm doing it slowly but I don't really seem to get any faster or more coordinated. I just bought a light tension grip master, let's hope that does something!

  • Thanks! Try this little experiment in focus and concentration: Reserve 4 1/2 hours of uninterrupted time. Then practice only that descending drill for the entire time. Do nothing else. Walk around. Watch TV. Do what ever it takes to keep yourself from getting too bored. Play it perfectly, don't try to play it faster than you can. Just focus on getting it right. Then leave the guitar until the next day. Pick it up in the morning and feeeeel the difference : )

  • You're totally right, I haven't done this, and this is what it takes! I've been reading some interesting articles on muscle memory and to build and myelinate motor neurons it can take 3000 or more repetitions to commit the simplest of movements to muscle memory, and up to 20,000 to make a complex skill "permanent." So like, you have described, I need a string of 4-10 hr days where I build this. Oh and I'm definitely getting your alternate picking system. Thanks Claus, you RULE!

  • Thanks : ) Where did you read those articles? It sounds like something I should read!

  • I'll PM you some of the interesting ones. Youtube doesn't let you post links in these little commenty boxes.

  • Thanks!

  • Dude! How did you speed the video up like that? Your fingers look like spiders from HELL!

  • LOL! Well I guess that's a good thing : )

  • Now that you mention it. It does look like there's some super natural force working here. But I think it's because of the limited frame rate of the video. I move my hands and fingers very fast indeed but the video makes it look like I'm faster than the camera, which I am. But it makes it look faster than it really is, I think. Does that make any sense at all?!

  • Yeah but don't worry about it. You know it's real by the sound of it. =]

  • It means you move faster than like 30 frames per second! Or you need a faster camera!

  • : ) I guess so. (Kinda cool right... "I had to get a faster camera because the old one couldn't keep up with me)

  • It's YouTube! Sadly I must awknowledge the fact that the reduced frame rate happens when youtube converts the movies. A maximum of 12 pick strokes per second cannot be a problem if there's 30 frames per second anyway...

  • I have to agree with the guy below you are by far the cleanest , and I don't mean you shave alot, shredder I've heard in a long time.

  • Thanks! It means a lot...

  • you are by far the best shredder on youtube. you are amazing.

    5 stars

  • How do you respond to something like that?! Thanks man...

  • Are these free videos from your DVD or are these just free exercise for the purpose of youtube? Sick playing by the way!

  • Thanks! : ) They are free and part of the blog part of my website. The tabs are also free.

  • Easy to learn, hard to master. This will be a fun one to practice - thanks!

  • Thank you! And you're right : )

  • wow. that was amazing. i was astonished when i saw this. you are amazing claus.

  • Thanks Boone : ) I hope you find it useful

  • I love your lessons, they're probably the greatest shred lessons on Youtube. Definately 5 stars :-)

  • Thanks man!
