i think i have watched almost all of your videos now.... you are absoloutely amazing..... just amazing!.... u should get an award.... like a trophee:P
I just got a T5 Custom and I'm delighted with it. Got a gig on Saturday and I'll be switching between the house PA and my Mesa Boogie Mk111. Let the good times role!
Very inspiring SweetPotato, great stuff. I have a T5-C2 and for some reason it doesn't sound like yours...maybe I'm missing the all important ingrediant of talent? ;-)
good job, I have have the custom koa T5 did you have a hard time getting the pickup to sit at the right height so thegr could track right. I'm thinking about getting the Godin synth access guitat I hear the RMC pickups track almost flawless with no Latency. Do you find it tracks alright. what you did sounded really good,no latency, hows it with the piano patch? Nice playing though.
It took a little tweaking to get the pickup height right. The biggest challenge with the tracking is to play cleanly, and I never know how sloppy I played until I started trying to play through the synth. The piano patch sounds ok, but I think the organ patches sound and track better.
Very nice playing. A question if you don't mind: was it difficult to attach the guitar synth pickup, and did you have to permanently attach it? Did it require modifications to the body? I guess that's three questions, but thanks in advance!
The main part of the pickup comes with a brace that attaches to the body where your guitar strap pin screws in. The only thing that you have to permanently deal with is the part that rests under the strings. I had to use double sided tape for that. You could screw it in, but I didn't want to do that. This is the old model, the new model is a little different.
no thinking involved. anyone who's played a taylor t5 can tell you that the only thing that might evencome close to matching it is an old old gibson hollowbody
it is... the best guitar ever. epic win for taylor.
The biggest thing is to find the one that suits your playing and your ear the best. If there isn't one that makes your heart jump, don't buy. And make sure not to mistake the sound of the amp - try a few different amps to make sure you can distinguish the tone of the guitar. Try to go for feel first, because you can always change pickups.
Going to try and check out some guitars over up coming vacation. Was thinking of the T-5 and some Fender strat models. Any suggestions are welcome. Looking to primarily play blues stuff with it, but versatility is ceratinly welcome.
I played the Taylor solid body last night at Guitar Center. It has a nice tone and nice feel. I think I prefer the T5, actually, because of the acoustic/electric sound.
I think you are correct. The solid body was kind of an offshoot but it is a nice guitar, but not earth shattering i/m/o. It sounds a lot like the T5. The T5 does well as a plugged in acoustic, and it's nice to jam around with without an amp. The electric tones are versatile and have a nice jazzy sound to me.
Also, 69Mohjo - On this set up, I plugged my T5 with GK2a pickup into a Roland GR33 guitar synth, and plugged that into the stero ins on the Digitech GNX4. I had mixed down an MP3 from Stylus RMX for the drums and used the onboard recorder on the GNX4. The footswitch allows you to record hands free.
Also, that Strat is a modified American Standard. I put Kinman Avn Woodstock Plus pickups in about 6 months ago, and they are AMAZING. I hadn't picked that guitar up for years before I put those in. I'll record something with that and post it.
I like the T5, it's extremely versatile and gets a wide range of tones. It has a destinct sound and feel i/m/o, so it's pretty unique. It even sounds great plugged directly into a PA.
Once you set up your own patches, it really is pretty cool. You have to work on your playing style, as it does require clean playing. Overall, I like it.

By all means record and post something with the Strat, would love to hear it.
Have you tried a Taylor solid body electric yet?

I really think that Taylor should have stayed with the T5 and not gone solidbody..... IMO. Taylors built their reputation on their acoustics.

I'd like to have a Blue Sunburst Standard T5. My dad's got an ES-335 and it's wonderful!

Looking to purchase a T-5 and want to know your experience.
Also is that a Vintage 62 Fender Strat Reissue behind you?
How does it compare?
Can you tell me what your set up was for this little jam?
Thanks and keep it up ! Sounds great.
