Old music, had more Dynamic Range, so the level of the music was softer but had more variations in dynamics and levels between instruments, whilst modern music is ultra compressed, so the peaks are all at the same level, allowing the song to reach a higher level of percieved loudness.

@5TheKingOfPop5 This happens for one reason. When an audio engineer mixes a song, itself cannot go above +12db, otherwise it will start clipping (distorting). So, if, for example, this song always stays at around +3db but there is/are one/a few occasional peaks that go, for example, at +8db, when the mastering engineer normalizes the song (bringing it to the maximum possible volume without clipping) cause of those peaks, the song will have a HUGE diffrence in volume between part, and the volume

@5TheKingOfPop5 of the song won't be as loud as it should be, cause of those big peaks. If the peaks are all at the same level (like in modern music) the engineer can raise the volume of the song to max without there being diffrences in volume between chorus, verse, bridge, etc...

The intro (regardless of what other bands it sounds like) gets you pounding and hyped up. Then it kinda drags ya down with repetitiveness. Then the solo kicks in HOT and goes all over the place even sounding like Y. Malmsteen at times. Never tried to figure the solo out yet, but I can play rhythm no prob. It's the best song on the album no doubt.

Here is a tough one. Best Thrash Death Metal Album of all time? Tough call ain't it? I'd pick Slayer/Reign in Blood mainly because every song is great. A lot of albums have a few duds on them. Even the old Metallica stuff has a few duds ( they aren't classified as a pure death metal band though )

Folks...Listen to the music to Over the Wall only, not the vocals and you'll hear 2 different bands combined. Start sounds like MegaDeth from Peace Sells, Then Metallica Damage Inc. for the rhythm. Then Back to more MegaDeth sound. Tell me I'm just imagining hearing it? I like Testament, but there sound is not original that's for sure. Some of their other stuff sounds like knock off Slayer songs.
