@mrkoolnerd his time in WCW was horrendous, because they didn't use him properly, which is sad. As a matter of fact, i didn't think they use Bret properly either looking back on. Just my opinion
to do a good technical job with spektacules aktion is one thing...to give the people a good show and cool coments with sunglasses another...both parts doing perfekt bei Anvil and Bret...one of the greatest Tag Teams ever !!!
To have an excellent work ethic and still be a superstar is a great feat. It's what makes Bret so great. I was a Hulkster fan for a while as a kid, but I believe that Bret surpasses Hogan in a lot ways. There are those who have a love for the fame and those who have a love for the work. You can tell the difference.
Gotta love how Bret takes on Hammer and Honky at the same time and especially when Bret clotheslines Hammer after Honky kicks out from the pin at 5:00 !!! Hitman was such a great worker!
In my opinion, i think Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart was one of the most underrated superstars in the WWF back then. He was a great wrestler and should be in the Hall Of Fame with Bret Hart. It's a shame that Neidhart's solo wrestling career didn't take off. 'Cause he had the potential to be a champion in the WWF. as much as i like Bret, Anvil was the personality of the Hart Foundation. YEAHH BABY! hahahaha.
Jim Neidhart is one of the best wrestlers of all time, sure his solo career wasnt that grand, but imo he had outstanding brawling skills, and for a man of 5Ft 11inchs had tremendous strength. He should have been used as a big nasty heel.
I really didn't enjoy the Hart Foundation's second title reign, because the attention was shifted away from the Hart Foundation and the spotlight was firmly and solidly fixated on Bret Hart and trying to make him the WWF's next big single's star. It should have been about the team, not just all about Bret.
There were times when HTM and Valentive jobbed, but they were not jobbers. They hung around as enhancement talent and to get the young guys over them since they were champions in the past. They gave credibility to some guys who beat them.
Wow, you are a fucking mark. Honky Tonk Man's match against Warrior was a CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH. Valentine wrestled the Undertaker years past his prime. You are a fucking idiot.
Yeah. this guy is an idiot. HTM held the I-C title for about 15 months, and Hammer held it for 8 months, and Hammer held the Tag belts for almost a year yet they're "jobbers". LOL, unreal! Rhythm and Blues were slated to win the tag belts from the Harts until the LOD and Nasty Boys came in.
If Rhythm and Blues were meant to win the belts then they would've done so. The same was said for Power & Glory. As for the WWE Hall of Fame, it is a joke. The fact that Mae Young and Pete Rose are in it is solid proof. It will never be legit without the inductions of Randy Savage and Bruno Sammartino. I suspect that you are a WWE mark and are basing your opinions on nostalgia rather than facts.
Hey dumbass, Valentine is a former I-C and tag champion and HTM was given the belt longer then anyone in history (single reign). How the hell are they "jobbers". The Hammer is in the WWF HOF and the WWF wants HTM in it, he has turned them down so far.
The WWF doesn't care about the tag team titles either. Both titles just provided filler material to build the audience up for the main events.
P.S. "Hall of Famers" don't get squashed and buried in their matches. People like Valentine, Honky and Snuka have not business getting any accolades for their shoddy accomplisments in a fake "sport", especially since they ended their careers as pure jobbers.
Rhythm & Blues were a comedy team and were mainly used to put over other teams. By 1990 both team members were veterans: Honky's lengthy title reign had ended 2 years earlier and since then he had been relegated to lower midcard status and Valentine hadn't held the IC title for 5 years by then. Together, they never beat any important team (they even regularly jobbed to the Bushwackers). If you were a genuine wrestling fan you would know this.
Read Bret's book. He is so honest and is up front about his shortcomings. Watching this after reading what was going on behind the scenes makes this match odd to watch but it is still good to watch.
Imagine if the internets existed in the 80s pro wrestling would change for the worst too early. lol
