By the by for all those who don't know the plural of mongoose is mongeese (not mongooses or mongeeses).

One last parting note: Thepolk1 stated they are transmitters of rabies, this is a common misconception and a case of mistaken identity. What this person was probably thinking of at the time was the ferret, which is a not too distant relative of the mongoose.

I love Mongooses too-i used to raise them,and do years of research on them. our

species in Hawaii is the Small Indian Mongoose,which is not totally liked,because

of its threat to Hawaii's indiginous Birds. despite its status,it is still an intresting

animal,,often being confused for either a Squrrel or a Ferret. i know that the largest

of the species,is the three-foot long Egyptian Mongoose,which are found between

Affrica,Spain,Portugal,and Isreal.the Mongoose is quite a creature!
