Piros - just saw your presentation on the Facebook mapping application. Enjoyed it very much. i am curious to know, how do you think this information can be used, once it's fully grasped? Have you been able to learn more useful information by seeing the relationships graphed in this way?

I know that it is cool seeing information like this, but I just wondered what the benefits where and why people would actually want to see this kind of information this way?

@pimpmycheese You are not seeing only text: text here is minimal, only the mere necessary. The benefit is that us as humans obtain far more information by looking at an image compared to a list. An simple example could be that by a simple look at the graph you can immediately understand which is you closest (facebook) friend.

@Hopffnung Hes that's true! Good point! What I really like of this is not only the graphical feeling it gives, but also the fact that it runs in a browser! This means that 80% of the people (excluding IE7) Will see it in the same way as me. This is a great milestone.

@PirosThePirate Yes excellent work. As you I really like to program code for special purpose. Have you ever tried neural network models? They're pretty fun.

@Hopffnung I have done some basic brain modelling with neural networks but I believe it's not really my thing =D In any case it is still very interesting! Do you work with neural networks?

@PirosThePirate Yes neural network multilayer with some interesting transforms. I mean adaptive neural networks for best performance in patter recognition but in VHDL. Do you like DSP? In medicine is awesome :D

@PirosThePirate i don't believe in robotics but I find neural networks incredibly interesting. For something like search engines of any kind it has sure given a boost! really interesting stuff :)
