  • Ab exercises don't slim the waist, by the way. Doesn't work that way.

  • You are right, sir.

  • @ZZchaz well obviously if you're overweight it won't work, but if you're toning then it will.

  • @Puffley "Spot training," or the reduction of body fat in an area by doing exercises targeting that area, is a myth of mainstream fitness, used to sell exercise equipment that doesn't work. The only way to reduce fat in an area you don't want it is to do an exercise that burns fat all over your body. That is, a cardiovascular exercise. Toning is also a myth. The only way to increase the definition of your muscles is to remove the fat that is covering them up. Cardio is the only way to do that.

  • @ZZchaz as a personal trainer you'd think he knew that

  • @off9999 Well I suppose personal trainers come in two varieties: college educated professionals, e.g. nutritionists, and the trainers that learn what they know from the local gym. I've experienced the latter firsthand, and only now do I recognize the danger they put clients in by not teaching them proper exercise techniques, not teaching them to recognize warning signals (pain), and spreading lies and misinformation like this "trainer" does.
