Thanks for posting this it brings memories of someone who's not with us anymore ...we'd parted before she departed and this song brings back memories when we were actually happy together.
this is the most infectious song ever.who gives a wank if cliff is getting bummied by an ex priest.cliff is a legend, musically speaking of course.i wouldn't fancy getting bummied myself.
when my ex girlfriend finished with me i sent her this song, gave me great pleasure especially when thing didn't turn out good for her and she begged me to get back with her....
@1985oats cliff has made lots of his fan for over 50 years i wish people would stop making nasty comments on him on u tube i think some people are jealous
@MsFanmail People make nasty remarks about the Bee Gees as well , usually the ignorant who have no idea of good music and good people. Ignore and enjoy the music I say!
@SweetSesatia - Exactly...people who (for instance) dismiss the Bee Gees as "an old disco band" have no clue that there's so much more to them besides the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack!
I just saw a thread on Yahoo music news. That MTV is changing their logo. But they also included that this song by Cliff Richards was one of the first ten songs played on MTV way back when MTV started. I think it was #7 to be exact.
I used to play this over and over when it came out in the summer of 1979. I dont really know why exaclty even now. But I could never hear this song enough.
i lived in england and saw cliff when he just started out thought just the same as i do now GREAT dont really care about his life style he sing really good
At half time they played records and we all started dancing to them to keep warm. The Chelsea supporters' formation dancing team (i.e. all of us there that night) bopped about as one to Cliff Richard's "We don't talk anymore". I recall that night in Devon every-time I hear that record.
reminds me of summer job in supermarket in Aberdeen, Scotland 1979. I was only 16 then. What happened the last 30 years? Thanks Youtube for the memories
It's so funny- how people praise this song and say today's music sucks. This song (and a bunch of payed off DJ's) could very well be guilty of watering down the music scene back then with weak crap like this- a grown man with blown dried hair singing falsetto about a lost love to synthesized music 9 years after the Bee Gees did it. By the way, the Cliff Whateverthefuckhisnameis boxed set has been cancelled due to a lack of interest in Antarctica.
It's so funny how people can make a total prick of themselves by taking the time to point this out when they clearly don't even like the video. If I saw this and watched it, it means I enjoyed it enough not to find another video I'd rather be watching.
Judging by the length of your post, you just wasted 5 minutes, longer than the video itself! Why go to such lengths to post something nobody will care about? Just make a video post if you like hearing yourself talk so much.
Cliff is in Japan for his last concert of his world tour and says to the fans OK Guys since it's the last concert what do you wanna hear and they all shout Tits and Fanny and Cliff says excuse me ? they say Tits and fanny again and he goes well I'm sorry I'm a devoted Christian I can't sing that and they repeat it again and he says oh alright then . then they say Tits and fanny we don't talk no more
By coincidence...this song was hitting the top of the pop charts...just when my WIfe and I were getting a divorce. And all I can say is ~ NO WAY is it funny...that we don't talk anymore...
For the past few years Cliff has been sharing his life and his home with a former Catholic priest whom he refers to as his "companion". Cliff now also advocates recognition by the Church of England of gay marriage. Enough said.

just cuz i say UK shit sucks, it dont mean that US is better. your assumptions are crap, man! got nothing to do with the US shithole.
I really do have to agree with you on this. This was the era when Dukes of Hazzard Co. was on TV and the movie Blues Brothers came out and apocolypse now.
my favorite music is 1978 to 1982. 1979 being one of the favorites. I wish I could re-live those days again as I remember then like yesterday. The only way to relive them is through music.
Hey, me & a friend are currently working on a time machine for this very reason, those were the prime years of living youth, forget the Roman empire or Dinosaur days, Disco era was extremely rich in fun & life quality, untill we get it working however, I recomend time dream assignment which is living in the past through vivid dreaming, try it sometime & tell me what you think, you need to concentrate on the past like old photos & memories before falling asleep.
Its hard to believe isn't it. The trajectory of music post-MTV in 81 was a subtle decline until about 85-85, and then a steep one that bottomed out in the late 90's. It hasn't really raised since. I plainly blame MTV for wrecking music and robbing it of melody. "Lifestyle", "Look", emphasis on "multiple formats" (rap, metal, electronica, grunge, etc.) wrecked pleasant, melodic, immediately accessible music like this.
I don't recall there being any repeat hit makers this decade, Maybe a few exceptions but do we have any artists like Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc that were mainstays in the music industry? Okay, maybe like Nickelback or Creed before they broke up. Hell I even hear kids in this generation griping how todays music sucks, So I know it isn't me being an old folgy.
I could not agree more with you. The music today isn't worth a shit. There is no meaning to the shit, because it is shit. May the 70"s and 80's rock on.
