  • Think it's better than the original.

  • Love the song I have it on my iPod but I like listening to it on here... Lol I'm making valentine cards... Lover boy... That's me!!!!

  • i think its the best cover of QUEEN's song

  • HOLY SHIT he fuckin looks like hugh grant

  • I would have expected him to do better........

  • Mraz is a great singer, he could have done a better version of this.

  • Its decent. BUT.. I think you tried to sound exactly the same as freddie, when you should of put your twist on the song.

  • Better than expected.

  • Immediate Freddie mercury was indescribably gay. Probably one of gayest men of all time. A d that's what makes him a legend

  • @xDiamondDoll702x Ummm...what? Is there a gay contest I'm not aware of?

  • Oh wow. I thought this was a great rendition of one of my favorite songs. I know that the more ways to hear a great song. The better! Queen is my very favoite band ever. I loved the old version. I am not really familiar with Jason really at all. I will try and hear more from him. Because of this great cover.

  • I'm disappointed in you Jason.

I'm trying to like it but it just ain't working.

    :P

  • I am normally don't listen to Jason mraz and I love Queen, but you can't say this is a bad cover.

  • I do'nt give a fuck if frddie is bi the man could fucking sing like no other

  • Freddie was Bisexual. And this cover is unoriginal and merely copies Freddie. Nothin new or exciting.

  • @Jicksapeg exactly. im not even a fan of jason and this cover doesn't even compare to freddie, but when you cover a queen song you cant dare to change anything. its QUEEN! they are gods! if you even attempt to try their masterpieces you absolutely CAN'T touch or screw up their shit- its perfect the way it is.

  • crap

  • i still can't believe how awesome this over is!

  • absolutely delicious...

  • Freddie Mercury wasn't gay! He had a mustache, which is practically like a wedding ring!

  • @kaziqaleph haha hate to burst your innocent bubble dear, but Freddie was as gay as the day is long. But hey! I'm not disrespectin, he was a pretty awesome singer :)

  • WAIT A MINUTE. do you all mean to tell me that Queen fellar is a gay? this is me and my girls "song." we danced to this and kissed to it. I ain't kissin my lady to some buttlover's music. I knew i should have made our song "I need you" by skynyrd. Atleast them boys appreciated some boobs with a lady attached to em.

  • @HoopOoted How to get rid of annoying pest in 4 easy steps:

    1. Take gun, at least 22. Caliber.

    2. Put to head.

    3. Pull trigger

    4. Profit.

  • I don't like this version of this song, but it's nice to know that there are musicians with great taste.

  • actually freddie mercury, was bi-not gay. o-o..

  • Who frickin' cares if it was written by one dude about another. If you're hetero, just imagine it's you singing to your wife or gf. Geez. Now shut the hell up.

  • Happy Birthday, Freddie! Great tribute from Jason Mraz.....and if you don't have this tribute CD, it's awesome!!

  • Yeah, sounds like he just sung over a scaled back version of the queen cut?

  • @PSUGawd I don't think it was a scaled back version of the queen cut. Sounds different to me, but idk

  • oh com' on! it's not a gay song! Freddie wrote this song in 1976 and at that time he was still in love with his girlfriend.

  • Queen is better, but Mraz actually does the song justice.

  • hes got a pretty good voice for covering freddie

  • I'm a hardcore purist queen fan. Covers of their work make me cringe.... But I love this one.

He has a beautiful voice ^^

  • JUST ENJOY WITHOUT "GAY" THING, I'M STRAIGHT BTW..

  • Great, another good old fashioned lover boy!

  • Oh, the narrowness of some people... it's just a love song, darlings!

  • Has he just taken the Queen track and sung over it?

  • Nice. He's no Freddie Mercury, but he does a really nice job. An enjoyable listen.

  • haha missing that magical queen harmony to push it over the edge, but jason pulls off the chorus beautifully. still the original has a magical world (edwardian/victorian) all unto itself, self-mesmerism stretching over to "lover" & listeners in utterly silly stylin' power of lurrrrrrving:P

  • Just cuz Freddie was bisexual doesn't mean his love songs are about men. In Bohemian Rhapsody, the main character kills a man; that doesn't mean Freddie killed a man. It doesn't matter if any or all of his songs were written with a male lover in mind; I'm just saying that just because you write a song doesn't mean you can personally identify with that character.

  • i understand that everyone is always gonna have a problem with someone covering a song from one of their favorite bands. that said, you can't discount mraz's vocal chops just because he isn't freddie mercury.

  • omg i love this. he didnt stray from the original, but it has his own twist. perfection.

  • @purplexrainxbow Exactly my thoughts :D

  • Wasn't this written before Freddie came out of the closet but? Lol.

    Anywho, it's a nice cover. :)

  • Jason Mraz should be in prison for having the audacity to cover a Queen song.

  • He sounds amazing!!!

  • This is my favourite Queen song of all time, and you really did do it justice.

    fantastic!

  • No one can ever match my darling Queen Freddie, but not bad! Not bad at all! I'm impressed.

    P.S.

To Jason: Stick with the fedora, dear. Or straighten up that baseball cap. And most importantly, please burn that I-3SEX button!!! ;)

  • Really nice cover, it can be singed from a boy to a girl, but obviusly that wouldn't make sense coming from the author.

  • I love queen alot and I usually hate some people's covers on their songs but this was decent

  • wow!!!!! im in shock! so good

  • i love queen

  • I am a serious Freddie Mercury fan...LONG LIVE TH QUEEN!!!...but seriously, all I can say is WOW!!! This is amazing!

  • Good cover :) i like jason mraz...

BUT FREDDIE IS A GOD!!!!!!!! n.n

  • @Hak3RBoi dude, chill out. Who cares if he isn't speaking English?

  • whoa, i was not expecting this to be so good. this is so good!

  • FREDDIE FOR EVER

  • It's not a coincidence that they chose Jason Mraz to sing this song <3

  • I find his cover refreshing Mraz does this song justice

  • Idg why some people are complaining, I think this is a really beautifully-done cover and prefer it to the original in some ways.

  • Jason you should be proud - you did a nice rendition of this. You have a very nice tone in your voice. Liked it!

  • Aguante la versión de Queen!

  • @ridi97 learn some fucking english

  • @Hak3RBoi Suck my nuts

  • @ridi97 There you go! ;)

  • It's okay I guess, but Freddie did a waaaaaay better job!!! This just sounds terrible in comparison. I like Jason Mraz, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to Queen, it's very hard to make a song of theirs sound good after Freddie having done it. Freddie was the best!!!

    FREDDIE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This doesn't sound like Jason Mraz's style, at all. I love him and Queen, but this isn't a great song for him to cover.

  • not bad at all. just makes you appreciate freddie more. he made it seem so effortless: old timey romantic with the slightest seediness underneath. it's not all so idol sweet. still a good try tho

  • Nice voice and all... I only wish he would have made it more his own style? The instrumentation is nearly identical to the original. More stylized would have been better. Not bad, though.

  • I have to start reading my comments before i post the, so many mistakes. wow!

Anyways...i really don't think that homophobia is a good enough reason to hate this amazing song.

  • Esta version algo tiene de linda :) el xdd tiene un poquito al apariencia de paul de los beatles xdd pero en fin igual em gusto esta version xd aunque la original no tiene comparacion :3

  • Essa música combina com o Mraz... ;D

  • Just for your information, Freddie Mercury wasn't 100% gay... He was bisexual.

  • @betumene Actually it looks like it's the Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy singing to somebody, could be a boy or a girl, depends on your side of the force. ;)

  • Damn this version sucks ass

  • This is not a "gay" song - it does not specify whether it's a girl or boy that's the target of "love" in this song. Just because Freddie was gay, doesn't mean the song is about gay love.

  • @Shadesofblue1988 google the lyrics and see...it DOES specify...but it's a good song

  • @JessyBee1313 Which part of the lyrics are you referring to?

  • Ah back when 3 minute songs were long, good times.

  • Oh my this is actually very very VERY nice. Well done!

I think I like it better this way, a light cover, to say something :) Jason's little changes are great.

  • it's a bit of a shame that he didn't put more of himself in it. i mean, the arrangements sounds so much like the orginal, kinda like a de luxe karaoke version with slightly inferior quality... when you make a cover you shouldn't try and make it sound the same, i think.

  • This seems like the only good cover on the album. u.u

  • It's good but hella far away from close to queen

  • who fucking CARES if freddie's gay? this song is sexy. but not really feelin' this version as much. still a good song tho.

  • OMFG! This is is about a guy and another guy. Originally sung by Freddie Mercury who was extremely gay. And it's the song to for a guy to sing to another guy. IT"S a fucking gay love song. And it's amazing. An old classic.

And just quit with the fucking "gay" and enjoy the song.

  • @betumene well yea.. but no where does it say its to a dude freddie mercury is the lover boy and he talking to whoever the lover is which is unstated so you could pretend its a girl if youre a homophobe.. great song nonetheless

  • @betumene Freddie Mercury was bisexual

  • @kkkatie00 Yeah he would buy anything for a good rogering!

  • @betumene it's a conversation between a girl and a boy...or two boys ...well it depends, and of course the song is very stagy :)

  • @betumene Get your facts straight before you go spreading false information. This song is NOT a song for a guy to sing to another guy but is simply for any romantic couple. Freddie stated himself that the song describes how a "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy" would act on a date to his romantic love interest, girl or guy. I appreciate the fact that you agree that it's an amazing song but it's not meant to be just about gay couples and if anything, is very little about gay couples.

  • @betumene ну ты и тупорылый гандоша!

  • @betumene freddie was gay, but this song was written when he was still with mary austin, before he came out of the closet... it's not a gay song, it's just a love song

  • @betumene

No, Freddie was bisexual. This song was written in the 70s when he was romantically involved with 2 women.

  • good job

  • Sweet.

  • GREAT cover.

    NOT GAY.

Queen is better of course, but good to know somebody still has great taste.(:

  • I must admit, I didn't come in here expecting to hear a damned hellava good cover!

  • This cover is just as good as the original, only slightly brighter tune i guess :)

  • is Jason gay? just thought he might be... and for the song he's okey still freddie is far far far better.

  • of course, no one can beat freddie at performing any of his songs ever. but this version's not bad, actually it's great for me. jason rocks, and him making a cover of queen also in some ways pays tribute to Freddie. so, i'm happy i've heard it, like it a lot.

  • I like Queen's version better. This one is ok, but no one can beat Queen's version. His is the best!

  • Didn't like it too much, Jason's voice doesn't add anithing new to the song, indeed it sounds quite like Freddy's voice in that song. I mean, he could have at least added changes in the melody...

  • This song is awesome

  • is there any way I can get this song on my ipod? I can't find it on itunes! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

  • I really don't like this....I hate when people cover really good classic songs :/ not as bad as Adam Lambert's version of Johnny cash's Ring of Fire, but I'm oh so not happy with thisss

  • Fantastic cover. One of the best on utube.

  • I usually hate covers, but this doesn't seem all that bad. He's not really much compared to the beautiful tones of the original, but still.

  • This is a pretty good cover.

  • This is far worse than the original. Sounds like a school boy singing while dressed in his mum's evening dress infront of his mirror. Jason, only copy if you can add something different, stop just trying to make money for the sake of it.

  • @fuxxx21 Why would he try to change a Queen classic?

  • Definitely did the song some justice - best Queen cover I have heard by far!

  • nice cover.. i like it..

  • Best song he's done. Cause Queen is beast.

  • Oh my lord, Jason. I looove this Queen song and I'm so glad he covered it. Except I don't think he wants to be anyone's Valentino, haha.

  • The first second or two I thought this was Freddie. Jason did a very good cover that would make Freddie proud.

  • This is a beautiful song! One of my faves by Queen and this is an amazing cover! <3

  • i love when Mraz covers something... cause he usually make's something completely different from it.

But this is just the same... still good tho, not as good as i hoped it was when i clicked the link ^^

  • orrible no no no crea tu propia musica

  • xD he did a wonderful job, usually i don't like Queen covers. It sounds like Mr. Mercury for a majority of the part. Fantastic.

  • I usually despise covers, but I've gotta say this isn't that bad :)

  • sweet cover! i love both queen and jason so this is awesome!

  • Great cover although I don't like Jason Mraz

  • usually when an artist redoes another's song, it turns out really bad, but Jason Mraz's redone "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" is really amazing!

  • aww, this is a cute cover. :)

  • @maria22md Really, no I have no idea who he is but I will check him out.

  • I have no idea who this singer is but I think I just fell in love. What a great tribute to Freddie!

  • Queen is my favorite band... and I believe that this is the first cover of a Queen song that hasn't made me die a little. Good job Jason Mraz

  • exactly. Jason sang this for a tribute to Queen..Jason is not gay.. he did this for a wonderful cause. soo go jason!

  • I can't freaking get enough of this song! Or Jason, mmmmh!

  • hes lacking in energy

  • wow, tough to pully freddy off, his voice was unique, best remake of a difficult song

  • This is the first Queen cover that I like :D

Usually people butcher the songs so bad.

    But this is nice.

  • What's this?....... A Queen cover...That I like

  • he must be mine

  • Jason Mraz rlz!

  • not bad

  • Damn...this is the FIRST cover of an amazing song I've ever heard that hasn't been butchered. Of course I still like Queen's guitar in it better, but Mraz actually did an AWESOME job covering this! I think Queen would be impressed!

  • fuck this guy, hes way too good at singing

  • Jason Mraz does an amazing job covering this song. It's my favorite Queen song of all time and I love this. :D

However, I can't find it anywhere to download it...I looked up Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen on iTunes and they said it only had 5 songs, 4 of which suck and none of them being this one. :(

  • I was pleasantly surprised with this

  • Great cover of a really GREAT Queen song. This is the first I've heard you and your voice is like crystal baby! I tip my hat to you for even knowing to cover this song. Not many people (outside of Queen lovers) know this song. Love it!

  • i like this. no one ever beats the origional queen but at least he has done them justice.

  • MY FAVOURITE SONG!!!!!!

just accidentally meet this on google...

but F.M and the gang still does it though!

  • great cover, but the original has a charm that this one lacks. still, jason mraz is great! :)

    also, this song isn't "homo"

    it's a conversation.

the verses and first half of the bridge are from the point of view of the "good old fashioned lover boy". the chorus and second half of the bridge are from the point of view of the rest of the band talking to him.

    (i realize thats confusing!)

  • Great talent doing a Queen song but not even close to original, goes to show how great Freddie was when a talent like this can't come remotely close.

  • this song is soooo homo xD but its beautiful!!! i love this cover too

  • oohmygod i love jason mraz so much more now :D

  • My favourite Queen song - sang by another talented man! Kudos!

  • AURGH. Where did you download the song, do you remember? I love this song, but I can't find Jason's cover of it on limewire at allllllllll.

  • Great cover, Jason! xD

  • I love this song.

  • nice cover mraz

  • He didn't really bring anything of his own to the song, he just mimicked it. An alright~ish cover, I guess.

  • meh. Freddie's is better. Sorry, Jason.

  • @TheFlamesOfDestiny hehe... who's better than freddie?? nobody

  • There's really no comparison. Freddie's voice is fucking /amazing/ and inspiring and makes you feel. Mraz can't put that real emotion into the song. However, I'm really glad he didn't do some jazzy version of this. And the cover isn't /too/ bad.

  • I have to admit i was ALMOST excited when I heard that Mraz covered this song. But I was expecting a usual jazzy guitar arrangement by him on the guitar, not this sing-along

  • Sry...but the Queen-Version is way better. It's a kind of karaoke, I think...-.- Freddie's voice is stonger and more emotional. But its ok ;D

  • recordings don't do jason mraz much justice. the inspiration really comes through when he's performing live.

  • YAYY FOR JASON

    ANYTHING JASON MRAZ, I LOVE

    LOVE YOU JASONNNN

you did this song justice, bud

    be love yall, sasha

  • I'm gonna get a ton of shit for this but I'm not liking this. I mean, A for effort and its not like I could do any better, but I just don't like it. I'd rather listen to the original.

  • Actually a great cover, just not different enough from Queen's, really. Guitar solo was a bit meh, but the rest was pretty much...well, a Queen cover. Usually, Mraz's voice is very distinctive. Here, not so much.

  • his voice is smooth... it's not that bad... But freddy was more emotional... besides his voice was way better... stronger and more beatiful...

  • it's ok, bu i'll stick to freddie's voice

  • nobody can sing better than freddie...

  • @raiyashiro In that light, Jason is probably the next best thing for this song, though. =]

  • @raiyashiro i dont know about better... but no one can sing like freddie

  • I love this version and its pretty much sound the same as the Queen classic original version.Jason Mar can reach the high notes as Freddie did and make it it his own
