He's very much a vampire in the legend form, higher evil being giving him eternal life, and he does drink blood. There are many type of vampire shapes in the legends, however, I do believe the term vampire is now fucked up by hollywood. He's less vampyric then nosferatu but totally more of a vampire than that twilight gay crap!
