Maurice Andre Haydn cadenza

Beautiful technique and sound, there's not doubting he's a master. I must bring into question the style and length of his cadenza, however. Taking historical practices into consideration, this cadenza is more drawn out than most operatic cadenzas of the Classical Era and has less uniformity and shape. There's nothing wrong with new interpretations, but I still think we should honor historical styles.

Thanks again, I have found a new perspective on mastery of your instrument from your post. Maurice Andre is oficially added to my pantheon of Brass Gods.

E3L Schilke E flat trumpet. Playing the E flat Concerto. Love the modulations in the cadenza. Unusual but like everything Mr. Andre does, just plain AWESOME!!!!!!

I dont know what andre's top note is, but Ive never heard him crack, or seam to reach his peak, and Ive heard some high screamers out of that horn of his! He is amazing!
