I think if ur comparing different fighting elements, the octagon is the closest you will get to a real life fight situation. the ring is a lot more simulated. U never fight in a space with 4 perfect corners and ropes. he got owned in the ring and would get owned on the street. MMA

It was cruel to put james up against randy in his first mma fight but the thing is... he asked for it. He just kept barking to dana over and over about how he wanted to go straight to the ufc, and all that time, his ego forced him to underestimate what he would truly be up against. Well, he got what he asked for and got his tail whipped, which was what was sure to happen... he needs to stick to what he does best. He's a shell of what he used to be though... I'll say that.
Whats sad is when boxers conquer there dream of being world champion and don't walk away proud and realize you cant be champ forever and all those punches you take trying to hold on to that belt are not worth it. Occassionally there is a solid hit, or a KO, But it really isn't much when compared with the abuse a boxer takes.

Were as MMA requires a broader skill set, boxing requires a fighter to be skilled, and extremely endurance minded. Not only that, but boxers take more than triple the hits in an average match compared to MMA fighters. If an MMA fighter slips it almost always leads to a ground and pound T.K.O. If a boxer slips he's given the oppurtunity to get back up and win. Less room for chance.

I mean, I'm a Muay Thai Kickboxer and BJJ fighter, and I respect boxers. But I know, that if you can take them to the ground, and more likely than not you will, the fight is over. And in all honesty, I'd rather take a punch to the face from Mayweather than a kick from most UFC fighters.
