@xplayer360 Go look up the trailer for kung fu live for the PS3Eye. It does the exact same thing as Natal. The PS3Eye can easily track skeletal movements. It's all done through software anyways. The Natal is just a slightly better than average web cam with some semi decent motion capturing software designed for it. The real difference is the PS3Eye has almost no noticeable lag, while the Natal has about 100 ms of lag. If they don't fix it, it'll kill Natal.

and uncharted couldn't be played on xbox, developers are getting the ps3 now and with the two main goty being exclusive to ps3 ( Uncharted 2 & Demon souls) i think that eyes have opened on the game developers side,
Microsoft defiantly copied Sony. the first motion sensor controller was on PS1. PS1 was released BEFORE the Wii. Sony is just the only original company there is.

The only motion controller that has ever done well is the Wii. Mainly because the entire console is a motion controller. Unless developers have to make games that focus on the motion controller, few will. I don't think either will do well, but... Eyepet looks freaking awesome.

I have a 360 and a PS3 so Im set. But from watching this it just looks dumb and would get boring quick unless your like 2 years old. Natal actually looks addictive, like the paint maker.
was watching something about 3d movies earlier. the guy explained that are two eyes see things from slightly different angles and from this we can determine distance between the images and through calculations are brains are able to work out size and distance of the object. thats what natal does. pseye only has 1 eye and to determine the 3d objects space and size needs a object that it knows the size of. from this object it can work out everything else. controller is needed for this. same result
in fact none of this explains depth it helps put everything together in the end but are perception of depth comes from what is behind the object or between you and the object. before 3dv's zcam to get depth you had to use a blue or green screen. somehow 3dv were able to make a screen virtual and hide it in the image. when ms but over 3dv am sure alarm bells rang at sony's ps eye r&d dept. who worked closley with 3dv. there answer was the colours that come from the controller.
Natal uses an IR camera to detect distance, and so measures the distance of every PIXEL in the scene (i.e. a 3D map of the area), whereas only the PS wand's distance is measured using the size of the light.
MS bought 3DV who made the ZCam, which works the same way as Natal and is explained here (delete any brackets and spaces);
From my understanding, the camera sends out a pulse of IR light (invisible to our eyes) 30/60 times a second, and it measures the time it takes for that light to be reflected back to the camera for every pixel. Thanks. It's really interesting technology (both Natal and PS wand), therefore I'm really looking forward to seeing what Microsoft and Sony do with their new motion controllers. Hence unlike many gamers, I don't view one as being better than the other, but instead as new controllers which have their pros and cons. NOT TO MENTION everything at E3 was Pre-recorded. Go adn watch "PROJECT NATAL DEBUNKED" and you will see that this was already on the ps2, so sony was ahead by 5 years already!

They just want to play games, not run around talking to pedophiles. lol I thought that was funny. Avatar is perfect, you get kool props from games that you play, and and play with them in mini games, but i dint know that you could make your own themes...lol ok i agree thats better, but they still jacked the theme, avatar, and achievements idea from xbox.

@Metalhead12389 u get virtual items from the games u play for home too. u get to play mini games in home. u get to own personal spaces, and hang with friends. if i'm not playing games getting to hang out in a virtual world with kinda cool. themes were on computers first, not xbox. wii had an avatar system first and home isn't an avatar system it's a virtual world. and achievements (trophies) were only added because it was requested by the consumers.

Wii is stuck in the past, playstation is stuck in the present and xbox is going to the future! Easy as that. Ps3 wanted to play it safe and copy wii's remote and make it a little better, but microsoft took it a step further and created natal. Plus eye toy is whole body motion it's just hand and head motion.

Actually,it is still a project,you can't know how it will react after the release...The Xbox's Natal is a full body motion controller unlike the Ps3's Eyetoy in which you've got a trigger...

PS2 Eyetoy has voice recognition. Remember a game called sega superstars eyetoy? there was a minigame on that called crazy taxi. here are the rules taken from the guide that came with it. "Large movements and loud sounds must be undertaken to stop the Crazy Taxi and complete the level".

Microsoft defiantly copied Sony. the first motion sensor controller was on PS1. PS1 was released BEFORE the Wii. Sony is just the only original company there is.

@rockboy365987826 Granted this was posted over 3 months ago... still... the first motion controller I'm aware of is the power glove that was created a very very long time ago. It didn't do well. The only motion controller that has ever done well is the Wii. Mainly because the entire console is a motion controller. Unless developers have to make games that focus on the motion controller, few will. I don't think either will do well, but... Eyepet looks freaking awesome.

@rockboy365987826 I agree with besides the fact that Nintendo is the most original game company, They have innovated so much and made it work with 2 screens and touch screen to motion controls (they actually made it WORK and catch on) they even made the analog stick a MUST on a controller. Sony has even said they are not in it to innovate as much as they are to perfect, which I can respect that just as much as innovating.

The only difference is taht while using it together wiht the wand it can also add depth perception to the camera.

was watching something about 3d movies earlier. the guy explained that are two eyes see things from slightly different angles and from this we can determine distance between the images and through calculations are brains are able to work out size and distance of the object. thats what natal does. pseye only has 1 eye and to determine the 3d objects space and size needs a object that it knows the size of. from this object it can work out everything else. controller is needed for this. same result

in fact none of this explains depth it helps put everything together in the end but are perception of depth comes from what is behind the object or between you and the object. before 3dv's zcam to get depth you had to use a blue or green screen. somehow 3dv were able to make a screen virtual and hide it in the image. when ms but over 3dv am sure alarm bells rang at sony's ps eye r&d dept. who worked closley with 3dv. there answer was the colours that come from the controller.

Natal uses an IR camera to detect distance, and so measures the distance of every PIXEL in the scene (i.e. a 3D map of the area), whereas only the PS wand's distance is measured using the size of the light.
MS bought 3DV who made the ZCam, which works the same way as Natal and is explained here (delete any brackets and spaces);

From my understanding, the camera sends out a pulse of IR light (invisible to our eyes) 30/60 times a second, and it measures the time it takes for that light to be reflected back to the camera for every pixel. The longer it takes, the further it is away, and therefore this gives a measure of distance for every pixel.

Thanks. It's really interesting technology (both Natal and PS wand), therefore I'm really looking forward to seeing what Microsoft and Sony do with their new motion controllers. Hence unlike many gamers, I don't view one as being better than the other, but instead as new controllers which have their pros and cons. In the end, it's going to be up to the devs to show us what Natal and PS wand can really do. :)

Everybody has their toys. Most of N's was third party on NES and not their own however. They didn't do anything with human interactivity till eyetoy came along, so it's all fair.

Playstation Eye- Can ONLY track your hand movement. Thats it.
NATAL- Can track WHOLE BODY movement,Has Facial Recognition and Also has voice with voice regocnition.
all the playstation eye can do is change the appearance of the controller on the screen. where NATAL can do that PLUS alot more.. if you wanted to NATAL could change the appearance of your whole body instead of just your stupid arm.
