I did it in under 35 seconds. I kept landing on the egg wyvern somehow and home attacked it as if it was it's last hit. I didn't land on the platform or anything but the boss. I did it the same way as you did though. I might've done it earlier, but still.

I guess it causes Sonic to let go of the Egg Wyvern's antennae and land on the platform. Then when the boss reaches the death barrier, as goes for all characters, it dies. That is my guess.

@BakkiBoo when you are up to jump and homing attack the egg wyvern, just throw the sky gem to the ground before you homing attack. you will fly to the ground and eggman crashes into a mountain somewhere =P
