Pigafetta clearly wrote that Magellan was pounced on by several natives and not just one. 3rd, it was Magellan who was outnumbered almost 1/100. If we will take Pigafetta's words to be actual fact then Lapu-Lapu had over 4k warriors to Magellan's 49. Discovery needs to do more discovering I think.

First of all, Lapu-Lapu aka Kalipulapu, was a chieftain of a village called a "barangay". The very word "barangay" comes from the word "balangay" which is a boat used by Malayan settlers who began settling the islands now known as the Philippines no later than 400 years before magellan. The balangay could probably fit no more than 6 small families. So 6 families, that makes 18 people * 400 years, plus the many skirmishes with rival tribes. You do the math.

The animosity between Humabon and Lapu-Lapu was probably the result of a "rido" or blood war. That meant that Humabon and his Warriors were on that same beach helping Magellan
