  • I agree with this niggu. Black people shouldn't be called "African American"

Just American, or Black American to be specific. The term "African American" is simply how the government absolutely refuses to acknowledge blacks as full Americans. Modern day discrimination. If a white British couple have a baby, in the US. Automatically the baby is American. First generation whites are American. Where blacks who's ancestry trace to the original slave trade. Will always be "African American"

  • I knew someone who was Haitian American because she was born in Haiti. She didn't consider hersef African American. Yeah, her ancestors at some point came from Africa, but if go you back in time long enough, so did mine (and everyone elses). And I'm ridiculous pale white. The ancestors of this guy here probably came to America long before my German great great grandparents. I understand that he feels no more African than I feel German. Classifications, while sometimes necessary, are subjective.

  • Kwanzaa is not a African tradition

  • I know what you are, the nigga with the tattoos.

  • I think you are 100% correct, but i think "us white people" are worried about being rude and stuff with all this PC stuff. Also yeah, if you aren't 3rd generation american then it should be okay to be called Black American.

  • @Dickified Or how about just American? Given white people aren't called White American? Why we even recognize race is beyond me? It's a stupid system that really has no information about people other than the stereotypes it implies.

  • @ActuallyLiam Black american coz in england I am classed as British Caucasian, how do they do it in america?

  • You have got to be the dumbest muthafuckah on the tube, do yourself a favor, ask a white person about their background, they will tell you: "well i'm scottish on my mother's side and german on my fahter's side" or " I 'm part Polish and half Irish", THEY CLAIM THEIR EUROPEAN BACKGROUND, they are not ashamed of it, niggaz for what ever reason sound dumb as fuck sayin their not African. American is a NATIONALITY not an ETHNICITY

  • @Dadraine Yes, but white people don't claim I'm Scottish American, I'm Italian American. It's okay to represent your heritage. But that tends to be more about your appearance. He is saying there shouldn't be a group called African Americans. Because he isn't an African. He has a heritage of being African, but he is American. You don't see white, asian, latin people claiming well I'm white American, I'm Asian American do you

  • who cares 1 out of 8 white couples have a black baby... explain dat xD

  • @ZachJamesFriend adoption?

  • You make a damn good point.

  • I thought that this was going to be a video about how being called Black or African or Whatever American is used to separate people in the Social Consciousness, thus dividing you from REAL AMERICANS, Whites? That's the real bullshit right there. I can understand a cultural identity behind the identifiers, but clearly in your experience the title is not one of culture but race.

  • You are totally right, and if you didn't swear so much, I'd post this vid on my facebook and whatnot

  • AFRICAN FOOD IS WAY TASTEFUL, HEALTHIER THAN THE SHIT YOU GUYS ARE EATING IN THIS COUNTRY. I'M AN AFRICAN BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK TO MY SWEET COUNTRY LOCATED IN THE HUGE AND BEAUTIFUL CONTINENT CALLED AFRICA!YES!!I JUST FEEL SORRY FOR YOU....LOST GENERATION

  • What's so cool about saying you were disconnected from your native roots and since you can't trace them you are a man of no roots? You will always here a white man reference his roots no matter how many generations have past and even if he doesn't know a thing about the customs of his land you will always hear his pride of just knowing and having information to keep passing down to his next generation...I guess you hate your african ancestors who lost a piece of them to slavery....this hurts me

  • But in your case, your current culture (whether the Americal culture or "black" subculture), your customs are even further removed and totally unrelated to African customs

  • I kind of get what you mean. I'm Aussie, descended from a variety of cultures, but as for the English Irish convict heritage, i don't go around saying "i'm Irish Australian" or "English Australian" when it all happened 200 years ago. The only connection i have with Europe in that regard is my caucasian appearance, and obviously the customs that Australian culture adopts that are the same or similar.

  • aight my homegirl sent me to this video lol, but its funny u say this b/c I'm African and I just notice most Africans (well my household) refer to y'all (Blacks in the U.S) as Black Americans, not African Americans.

  • well i no im half indian and black american but i look black i think

  • please remove your video as your ignorance is embarrassing to our entire race. We are Hebrew slaves, from North Africa. What your not is American. You got here through slavery, you are not the same as the master therefore we are Hebrew African decendents of American Slavery.

  • @GAWDtv Im going to remove it right after you fucking kill yoself for hating on a niggas opinion. Get the fuck outta here wit da bullshit.

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS Your opinion is not nearly as respectable if you do not know how to formulate a simple sentence in response. Calling someone a hater doesn't automatically let you say whatever you want, it just means you are narrow minded or that you can't take criticism. If you don't respect others' right to their OWN opinion, how do you expect yours to be taken seriously?

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS Life is good. Why hate?

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS See by this logic you are saying we should call every one by the skin color so black white red olive if these terms seem mean thats to bad, no that doesn't make much sense i wont go to stereotypes but theres a grey area here, what do we call people who are two different races half and half? its just that it only works for people who are only black or only white or only olive see what i mean?

  • @GAWDtv You are the most ignorant twat i've ever had the displeasure to read. While i don't agree with the way he delivers his opinion, that doesn't mean it is not a valid and correct one. Black people who are generationally american are no more african than white people who are generationally american are part of their European ancestry.

  • I kinda get what you're saying, a lot of the younger generations of "Afrikan Americans" have an oreo mentality. (Black on the outside white on the inside.) This mentality is based of the desegregation- brainwashing construct. If you was taught in an Afrikan centered school, you would have a better overstanding of why you are Afrikan via DNA, but American by citizenship. I once heard a person say they are mixed with jamaican and black, ..but wasn't Afrikan American. LMAO! Lost generation.

  • @Sahbisun

By culture, we might not be as authentic as a Nigerian. (But whites in Afrika are less Afrikan all the same.) Remember in South Afrika they rearranged the language to benefit their British-English needs. You will not see Europeans born in Afrika getting down too much with traditional Afrikan cultures. They continue to dress as they would in europe, speak with the same euro accents, and hold the same discontempt towards blacks-Afrikans.

  • yes because of the massive amount of Africans that were exported like goods from Africa to the Caribbean and north america (to be slaves), they didn't get to preserve their culture hence their adaption and a formation of a complete different culture, language, practices and etc. but that does not take away from the fact that your of African decent, you've never been to Africa but doesn't change your origins. just like a Chinese guy is still seen as Asian.

  • i meant from african culture! sorry for my bad english

  • he's right "african americans" are should just be called black american, only africans who immigrated to america are AFRICAN AMERICAN! In the censuses it should be, "black and or african american" and "white and or european american", cause obviously white american culture is different from european culture, and black american culture is even way more different than african culture!

  • I Agree. Black And African American Are Tottally Different . Why Yall Think When You Fill Outta Job Application Or Anything Asking For Race It Says Black OR African American .BECAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME #TeamHaveSome

  • The term African American is about biology, not culture.

  • @jdlhnewhh Thanks bro. hit the nail right on the head. Some of these nuckleheads just don't get it. "IT'S ABOUT BIOLOGY, NOT CULTURE. There are a lot of Africans in UK. 2nd,3rd generation that are culturally more British than Prince William. They are not and can never be British in the real sense of the word. They are Africans with British citizenship. Your place of birth does not alter your genetic make up.

  • In my opinion being African or American is just a nationality. Therefore I was born in America which is my nationality but my race is black which makes me a black american. But if an African was to come over to America by choice their race would still be black. But their original nationality is African which would make them an African American. What separates African Americans from Black Americans is whether or not they were born in Africa or America. It's simple as that.

  • @sparkleglitter283 And if u wanna get more in depth wit it, it would really go by what country the person came from in Africa cuz we all know Africa is a continent. So if somebody was from Ethiopia It would make them Ethiopian American or Liberian American and so on. But at the end of the day none of this matters because Africa is the origin of life. We are all one. God created people. People created races.Throughout slavery the slave master brainwashed our ancestors. The result.... this argument

  • "they aint mufasa cool" lololol.. that was funny. this video had some funny moments

  • btw. I completely agree with you. yall did develop your own culture etc. I completely agree. black american

  • haha good vid. u fuckin hilarious dog

  • Africa is not a country! Do I have roots somewhere in Africa? Yes, but I don't know from which part. I wish I did so I could connect to it more. Black people who live in America are in a unique situation where we do not have that connection to our ancestors' home land. I feel like if people want to identify themselves and African American to connect to that, that's fine. If not, I think you have the right to choose how you want to identify yourself. Most black Americans are mixed anyway.

  • not mufasa cool

  • I refuse to have anything to do with people that can sale they own people..people that look just like them, nd never come for us or anything!!! Another country would have set hell on US for one of they people. But its all good.

  • @sasnclassy I think you need to watch a video posted by WESTAFRICANCHANNEL : THE REEL AFRICAN ANSWER TO THE TERM AFRICAN-AMERICAN... You tell me what you think

  • Black people in America are not african! Lol, based on US census, plus we never fuckin touched soil. I say this all the time to people, and they don't damn get it.

  • @sasnclassy did black people come from africa no matter what you say the answer is yes maybe not all black cultures came from africa but most did in fact the human race came from africa thats a fact theres no way around that so yeah see though if me being white says black to some one its not "correct" so yeah...

  • Its adapted not adopted lmao! I think i've said enough.smh

  • very valid points! i totally feel your vibe!

  • I would address MYSELF as african american because I am a descant of my african ancesters. I carry african blood n my vines, so why wouldn't I call myself african american. I might not been born in africa or fully know the african culture but I would still consider myself african american. Even though we created out own culture here in america you have to understand what our ancesters has done 400 +yrs ago for us to live the way we live today. So why wouldn't you want to be called aa??

  • ignorance at its best, so you think that in Africa, the Lions cross the streets or highways??? Stop looking at Tv and do some research.

  • I know what you saying im not africa america neither..im black and people really need stop tripping on your opinion it aint that serious.....

  • I completely agree! Although I try not to acknowledge the lines of "race" I do not and cannot identify with any type of African culture. My family has been in the Americas for far to many generations for me to do so. Sure if you go back hundreds of years I'm sure my ANCESTORS originated from Africa but I'm American, not African at all.

  • This nigger is a DUMB. he needs to be educated, u was born in the US that doesn't mean u have a different ethnicity. you are mixing culture and ethnicity.. its totally two different things.

  • DARTS THAT KIND O' SHIT IS FROM ACTUALY FROM THE PHILIPINES SO CHECK YOUR FACTS ABOUT AFRICA AND GET IT STRAIGHT BUT I SEE WHERE YOURE COMING FROM AND I RESPECT YOUR OPIONION, NOT BASHING YOU OR ANYTHING BUT EDUCATE YOURSELF A LIL BIT B4 YOU GO MAKING SUCH CRITISISM, AND AFRICANS LOVE SOUL FOOD IT IS NOT THE TRADITIONAL FOOD BUT.....

  • YO, I HEAR WHACHU SAYIN' BUT NOT ALL AFRINCANS CELEBRATE KWANZA!!! I WAS BORN IN GHANA WEST AFRICA LAST TIME I WE CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS I WAS BORN INTO A CHRISTIAN HOUSE HOLD GO TO CHURCH ERR SUNDAY. ALSO DRESSING IF YOU GO TO GHANA PEOPLE WEAR THE NIKES THE JORDAN ETC, DRIVE M-BENZ, BMW, TOYOTA NISSAN AND BELIEVE OR NOT ASTON MARTONS HERE AND THERE YOU KNOW NORMAL SHIT Y'ALL DO OVER HERE AND YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET ATTACKED BY A LION WHILE WALKING ON THE SIDE-WALK AND ALSO WE DON'T BE SPITTING OUT

  • i ABSOLUTELY understand and agree with you . tha people that disagree clearly didn't listen to what you had to say , they were too busy distracted off tha title of tha video . !

  • Come on man. U gotta do ur research b4 to talk shit. 1, Kwanza in not an african celebration. Thats "African American" celebration. 2. There are no lions cruzing in the streets or highways. Who the hell is gona be alive if they cruzing the streets. You need to educate urself braa. why the hell do u think Martin Luther King is celebrated??? Nigger.. u couldnt sit in class with them white kidz. Punkass Motherfuucker.

  • african american is different than saying you're african, you mentioned kwanza that's not an african celebration, that's an african american celebration, so i kind of get what you are saying because we got screwed our history got erased so we adopted our own but some of what you were saying was a lil ignorant and miss informed, and i don't mean ignorant like you are stupid because i have seen some of your other vids and a lot of what you have to say is good, but this video shocked me.

  • finally somebody understands

  • They even call it Saint Pattys day, what? It's fucking Saint Paddy's day, right? Paddy is short for Patrick - not Patty. This is just one example of how UN-Irish these fucking muppets really are and I daresay the same goes for a lot of you fucking idiots who think you're African. Africans look at you fools and think the same as I do about Irish Americans ...... "They're not African" and they'd know because they ARE fucking African.

  • @alflud They are not Irish because they adopted white American culture but black american culture is descended from African culture and we still retain our African ethnicity thats why our nationality is american but ethnically we are Africans and the term African-american represents that (IE chinese american is ethnically chinese). Beside only a xenophobe would care about country your of birth, because at the end of the day i'm black and a African is black so why can't we recognize that.

  • Man, so much bullshit on this it's fucking unreal. I'm an Irishman, right? Born and bred in the fucking land of Ireland so I know what it means to be Irish. Now, I'm sure you all know there are fucking millions of AMERICANS who like to think they are Irish, right? because their fucking great-grandfather was Irish or whatever. No. That doesn't fucking make you Irish. Waving around a fucking shamrock and drinking Guinness on St. Patricks day does NOT fucking make you Irish.

  • cont. So don't try to seperate African Americans from Africa thats what they want because truthfully with out Africa we will be in trouble. We are a minority in this country and if anybody gets the idea to fuck us over one day we cant stop it so our only choice would be to go back to Africa or stay here and get persecuted (and it will happen again America loves to victimize people now its muslims but soon we will get it again).

  • It seems you guys also have a ignorance about african american culture being a descendent of african culture. Here is a tip no culture starts on its own it was feed and the truth is african american cultured was fathered by african culture like white american culture was started by europeans. Manythings we do today as black started in Africa like the dozen( yo mama jokes or joaning) are music like jazz, rock and rap our food like fried chicken, yams, rice and peas all have a african root.

  • Alot of yall niggas have a inferioty complex you guys still hold on to that Africa = bad, slavery bullshit lol don't belive the racist lies you here. Simple fact is you are black and they are black and untill black people come togther we will never survive. You think whites seperate each other by where they were born they all say they are white(american whites don't say euro because they own this country started by them because THEY left) no they don't then why should we?

  • @yungpar3 con't. Blacks in Americaa are still majority african genticlly only about 60% of AA's have white admixture and its very low between 5-20% hell Oprah has no white blood in her. Our culture still reflects it you that jazz, rap, chicken, braids and those stories some of us heard about anasi etc etc all came wih us.

Besides all you blacks who want to be only american they sure don't treat you like one they call us minority were only 10% of the pop we dont matter here to whites.

  • i was born in America but I consider myself a straight African, What has America ever did for me and my people? So I don't feel like a American Im a African just like my ancestors were.

  • I overstand you and you are not the first or only one to have this opinion. There are other people in the present and in the past who still have/had this debate. Anyway thanks for sharing your perspective. I think when you can actually say how you feel without thinking how other people will receive it is a blessing. Whether we agree to disagree it's coming from you. And I think that deserves some respect. (' -')

  • Get over people your African . lol

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS Dude, I'm a white man and I've been watching your videos for a hell of a long time. You're a sane individual and your commentary often holds profound insights into situations a lot of people just plain ignore. I see comments on here almost accusing you of encouraging racism towards blacks but no man - that's not the case at all. If anything you're just a down-to-earth brother who call it like he sees it and to hell with what you 'supposed' to say and shit. Good on you man.

  • It's black like what King fought for or American not African American. You don't see white people being called German american.

  • @MyNameBaboo We say that because we never had a choice in coming here and when we got her we were treated like animals not like americans. So I ask you what makes us american? Everybody who helped us were fellow blacks, yes whites spoke out but they didn't change anything untill we helped ourselves. So what makes us American? Our black culture still has very large amounts of African culture in it like braids, fried chicken and any music with heavey drums etc. to becontiuned

  • @yungpar3 cont. Im a african american because it shows my dual identity because whites choosed to come here I did not. So they willing gave up their identity I didn't have the choice but now I do and I choose to hold onto my African past becase no black person wants their history to start here in America with slavery and suffering. In america we never had shit but in Africa we had the world .

  • totally agree I think real African

Americans once lived in Africa then moved to the

US for whatever reason me and my people been here all of our lives and this is all we know

  • IF I WAS YOU I WOULD DELETE THIS VIDEO . JUST TOSS IT . AND CALL IT A WRONG MOVE . YOU SHOULD NO SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN WHITE PEOPLE AGREE WITH YOUR VIDEO . LOL

  • @nizzobeats Bit of a racist motherfucker you, aren't you? I can plenty of white people having a problem with YOU because you're a fucking asshole but .... just because they've got a problem with you personally doesn't make them racist. Teacher give you bad marks? "He's a racist" Employer refuse to employ you? "He's a racist" Chick refuse to date you? "She's a racist" Nothing at all to do with the fact that you're a fucking deranged muppet, is it? Get a fucking life, eh? Ya fuckin' sack.

  • THIS IS HOW I REALY FEEL . THERE IS MORE IMPORTANT THINGS WE COULD BE TALKING ABOUT . WHO CARES WHAT YOU CALL YOUR SELVES . IF A COP PULL OVER A AFRICAN . AND THEN HE PULLS OVER A BLACK PERSON . THEY WILL BE TREATED THE SAME . DID YOU HERE ABOUT THE AFRICAN THAT WAS STANDING IN HIS BACK YARD . THE COPS WAS CHASING A MAN . THEY SEEN THE AFRICAN JUMPED HIS FENCE . AND STARTED BEATING ON THE MAN . THEN THEY FOUND OUT HE WAS THE WRONG PERSON . BLACK IS BLACK .

  • Lol remember the devil is you and all of us black peoples.....lol 666...thas melanin the shit that makes you black....6 protons 6 neutrons 6 electrons...carbon is melanin...the same shit that make the stars in the universe shine bright is in u and all black people...please learn yo SELF brother.....white folks hate us for a reason

  • Lol PLEASE BROTHER.....his STORY ........our STORY.......xscuse my mispellin

  • Fuck that shit dude....u need to learn your history...and yeh u trippin....and yeh das wut u feel but u still need to learn yo history europeanizatioin or westernization has fukd us all up...BRO I STRESS LEARN YO HISTORY...in turn I'm sayin don't look at history read and learn tha shit to tell you OUR STORY!!!!!!!!! PLEASESE BROTHER

  • i lov your video, but you re trippin in this one : you re an african american Point Blank Period lol

  • Being African is a culture not a place . Being african is in your blood line . How dome can you get . We no africa is a place . And BEING AFRICAN IS A CULTURE . SO WE ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN . AFRICA IS WERE AFRICANS LIVES AT . WE ARE AFRICANS THAT DO NOT LIVE IN AFRICA . WE ARE STILL AFRICAN BY BLOOD . GET IT RIGHT IT ANT THAT HARD . SO YES WE ARE AFRICAN AMERICANS . WE JUST DONT LIVE IN AFRICA .

  • @nizzobeats See that's where you are wrong. Culture isn't about blood - it's about your traditions, your art, your environment and how that environment affects you. Take the word 'Chinatown' for example - it's called Chinatown because it actually does reflect Chinese culture - what with the hanging lamps, language, food etc. Show me Africantown. Where are they? Where can you find African culture in America outside of a museum? In your blood?

  • @alflud,

There is African culture in America but it is among immigrants who come directly from Africa. Not among people whose ancestors came from Africa 300 years ago.

  • @ButheJackcameBack Yeah, I agree with you completely man. You understand what culture is - unlike nizzobeats there. Some people go to another country and embrace the culture of that place. Other people choose to retain something of their own culture and even to try and introduce aspects of their own culture to the country they move to but just being in another country with blood running through your veins doesn't count for shit as far as culture is concerned - no matter where you came from.

  • @alflud This gonna be fun . 4 years on youtube and all my debates have bean a victory . Before you get started look on my channel and check out my comments . Then you will see what your up against . lol. are you ready . If you go to new york then you will see there are a lot of people from Africa living there . And they have there own neighborhoods . what do you no about jamaica queens ? If you take my blood . And do a D.N.A test on it . Then you can trace it by to my culture . lol

  • @nizzobeats I don't give a flying fuck what's on your channel - I'll deal with what's in front of me right here and right now. You're an ignorant fucking idiot and you haven't a clue what culture means. You're a even bigger fucking idiot if you think Jamaican culture is the same as African culture. DNA testing will trace your race - not your culture you fucking fool. Pffff! "Are you ready?" LMFAO Let me guess - you're a brute, aren't you? A proper fucking Bluto.

  • @alflud LOL. ARE WE GETTING MAD . And how do you no if i no anything about my African culture ? For you no retard i could be from Africa . Think twice before you run your mouth . How could you say that my culture is American . Do i look white ? I Sure dont act white . Sorry but i dont claim American culture . Why would i claim the culture of a bunch of indian baby eaters .

  • @nizzobeats Getting mad? No. I'm always mad - just hanging around waiting for some cunt to give me an opportunity to show it. Issues - you know? But hey, what about your issues? Sounds to me like you don't like the truth of the matter now that you've been faced with it - that you feel slightly guilty because you know you have done absolutely nothing in your life to keep African culture alive wherever it is you now reside. I could be wrong but hey - that's what it seems like.

  • @alflud lol . My culture is very alive . There is many of us . You do not see us but your time is coming . We will be here soon . We cant let any one no we dont want the C.I.A and the devil worshipers to no . Because you will try to stop it the movement . But we are here . And there are many and we are growing every day . I am African . And there is many now that are going back to find out what was stolen . We are here and we are many .

  • @nizzobeats o.O Let me guess - I'll be ambushed from my coal bin some night. You'll be in there waiting for me and I won't see you because you're sooooo fucking black, right? Well, what you don't know is that my coal bin is fitted with gadgets that can detect African DNA - for just such an eventuality. I always knew you guys would be coming for me some day so I prepared for it. There's garlic, silver and all other sorts of nasty shit in there so you better watch out.

  • @alflud What do i need for the devil but the truth . What else do i need to defeat evil . That is all i need . Because your hole logic is full of bull . Your hole life is full of bull . Your life as a loser should be the title of your book . Crying deep inside because your sorry dady never loved you . Mad because you could never please a woman in bed . Upset at the rise of the black people . How could they come out of slavery . Then take over the white house . lol

  • @nizzobeats I have to get back to work here so I'll tell you what - why don't you have the last word. You can tell yourself "Yesssss! Youtube commenter bites the dust. My powers of debation are supreme. I am unstoppable!!!"

  • @alflud LOL

  • @nizzobeats Hey indian bay eater were did you go . Oh i no you went to go and pray to the devil . Just like your indian baby eating 4 fathers . You were bread from the snake that crawls on it,s belly . Full of lies . But dont worry i Got you boy . I eat suckers like you for fun . I am your worse night mare come true . You could never Come in between me and my people snail . I see you . And i no that your father the devil sent you . And now im sending you back . lol

  • damn

  • Just bcuz we dnt do the same thinq africans do dnt mean that u not. Im black but Im proud my heritage. U shuld b proud to b african american u trippinq ma dude.

  • @shybby95 Im proud of my heritage, U like most people, didnt understand what I was saying but it is what it is

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS Every one of us Blacks are African Americans, but we don't have to identify with Africa. Why doesn't anybody want to talk about how Africans feel about us? They call us Lazy (Akata), and stupid, and they come right over here wanting to have nothing to do with us. If this dude says he's not an African American, he can do just that and I respect it. Period.

  • @DANIGGAWITDATATTOOS And another thing.Don't retract your position to please anyone, and you certainly shouldn't have made a second video because some uppity nigger felt as though he had to bash you because of your own personal beliefs.

  • lol, ignorant how could ur mama and ur grand mama know ur history, for the fact that

u got slave master name from those caucasian ,cuz the white men got the right to talk to u like that cuz u don't know where u from in African.Africans don't like u either go change the colour of ur skin, black is Africa, can't blame u, is the human right from the white

    folks that make u where u are,mutha F

  • @shybby95 first if your bi-racial but dark skinned and reply to yourself as African-american its kinda disrespecting yourself and the other race you have in you. I RESPECT ALL OF ME AFRICAN-GERMAN-JEWISH-NATIVE INDIAN but to keep it short ima Black Man.

But like i tell every Black Person, it dosen't matter to someone whos racist because to them we all "niggers" born here or from the mother land, they attack us the same way because we "look the same", STICK TOGETHER BLACK PEOPLE AFRICAN OR NOT

  • People who say Africans who now come to America should be called African Americans is foolish. Do you know how many countries are in Africa. Theres Liberian Americans, Nigerian Americans, Egyptian Americans, Kenyan Americans..Etc.. you cant say all of us are African American. Its simple, if "Black Americans" dont want to be called "African Americans" its cool. As long as theres no disrespect, let them choose freely, it shouldnt be a huge issue.

  • We are called African Americans simply because we're Africans who live in America....

  • The natural man was created in Africa... so the whole world is African/whatever else

  • lmao send me a post card

  • 3:27-3:42 cracked me up! u remind me of Kat williams!!!! bahahahahahahahahaha

  • YOU ARE DESCENDANTS FROM AFRICA DOES NOT MATTER HOW LONG AGO IF THERE WERE NO AFRICANS O COME TO AMERICA THERE WILL NOT BE AMERICANS CARRIBEANS OR HISPANICS THEY CAME FROM AFRICANS

  • I feel what your saying but I disagree. Your disrespecting yourself by saying your "black". Look up the definition for black. Everything associated with the word black is intended to be bad. You are an African American because you roots come from Africa but your from America. If you don't know your history learn it, it's as simple as that

  • @RoyaltyKingMe Everybody is from Africa, but we dont call white people African Americans. To consider me African because my skin is dark is semi racist.

  • wow you a fucking dumbass piece of shit!

  • We see soo many negative images about blacks in the media all the time. Then what do you or have seen growing up of images of Africa yep! thats right more negative images. They should show more positive Images about Africa in the media to be proud about for young people. They cant keep showing starving kids and tribal wars, and Disease in Africa ETC...Black Americans already have enough negative images in America about being black.to be called Black American is better for right now!just my opinion.

  • @eoo8

your ignorant. we BLACK BRITONS see soo many negative images about you disgraceful afrian Americans in the media all the time. you call yourselves nigga in front of the worlds media, and sell music that is disparaging to YOU. yet your concerned that "They cant keep showing starving kids and tribal wars, and Disease in Africa".

    GROW UP !!!!!

  • African-American relates to the history of the 'Black/African' race of people brought to 'America' that adapted foreign cultures and belief systems and formed another culture and belief from them. When you say you are 'Black' - where did your true ancestors come from? Italy? Madagascar?, France? Asian people don't commonly say they are 'White' - they refer to their race's ancestry of origin. When we label or categorize ourselves, we accept the definitions those labels mean as well.

  • @tammygirl9209 - True, but humans adopted different tribal features, cultures, and beliefs outside of the motherland concept. African-Americans are labeled by ancestory of the slaves/servants coming to America, their offspring, and their history. Saying, I'm Chinese or Russian identifies a point of origin as well as culture. Saying "I'm Black" identifies someone with the Black culture and belief system - not necessarily a point of origin. We ARE from Africa, just born in America.

  • Our people originated from Africa, but we were 'imported and made/born in America'. African-America relates to that as well as the 'culture and history' of the African race in America. African slaves/servants were the major skilled workforce of the American economy. We were adapted, trained, and naturally gifted to invent and perfect almost any work task assigned to us. Black is a culture and race labeling. Same for African-American. Hey, most Mexicans and South-Americans are Black as well!!!

  • If you wanna get more specific, you are a black United Statedian. Just like you don't like it when they call you an African american, I don't like it when you say the phrase "only in america" because that's like saying, "super bowls... only in america" I was not aware that Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina and every other fucking country north to south in america even played football. Stop calling the U.S. America you fuckers!

  • “Feelings are not supposed to be logical. Dangerous is the man who has rationalized his emotions.” ~David Borenstein

  • White

White: So-called white skin = good, right, high. The opposite being black.

    1. Having the color of purity; free from spot or blemish, or from guilt or pollution; innocent; pure. 2. Characterized by freedom from that which disturbs, and the like; fortunate; happy; favorable. 3. Regarded with especial favor; favorite; darling.

  • White

Note 1: In the time of the slavery of Africans in the United States, a so-called white person was generally construed as a person without admixture of colored blood. In various statutes and decisions in different States since 1865 a white person is construed as in effect, one not having any African blood. Note 2: The term "black" directed towards indigenous people was and still is meant to create an antagonistic and adversarial role as opposite to the term "white."

  • White

Usage Note: The word "white" is a english word and is in the Indo-European language family. The word white comes from the Old English hwít, which in turn is related to very similar words in old Germanic languages. Europeans and European Americans have been taught to believe that the word "white" gives them a divine right over brown skinned people.

  • 3:31-3:42 is funny as shit lmao

  • Black: So-called black skin = bad, wrong, evil, wicked, low, cheerless and depressing; gloomy. The opposite being white. Note 1: The achromatic color value of minimum lightness or maximum darkness; the color of objects that absorb nearly all light of all visible wavelengths; one extreme of the neutral gray series, the opposite being white.

  • @moonstar7

    white:

    Adjective:

Of the color of milk or fresh snow, due to the reflection of all visible rays of light; the opposite of black.

  • @arisxsunggyu Exactly the point. No humans are the opposite of the other. The European color caste system known as "black and white" is pure fiction.

  • Black

    1. Soiled, as from soot; dirty. 2. Evil; wicked. 3. Cheerless and depressing; gloomy: black thoughts. 4. Being or characterized by morbid or grimly satiric humor: a black comedy. 5. Marked by anger or sullenness: gave me a black look.

  • @moonstar7

    Yellow:

Of the color between green and orange in the spectrum, a primary subtractive color complementary to blue; colored like ripe lemons or...: "curly yellow hair"

  • Black

  • @moonstar7

    Brown:

    Adjective:

Of a color produced by mixing red, yellow, and black, as of dark wood or rich soil.

Are we planning to play scrabble? now stfu.

  • he has a point most people in Africa will not accept you guys as their own you know nothing about their culture beside watching tv about Africa. Africans will refer to you as an american before they call you an AA

  • The Focal point of this issue is not "SLAVERY". It's about how the western society has DISTORTED the image of Africa. When people think of Africa, they come up with the image of naked people running in the field with spears, chicken bones in their nose. Absolute distortion. If you meet real educated Africans, you will realize how inferior you are as a black american. at least they have self esteem. Virtually it's poor African Americans that are not authentic, subjugated to white masters.

  • I am really sad for all those Black Americans who historically suffered and don't know anything about theirs roots.then created hip hop which take down theirs black women, half of the black men over there are in jail or when they're out they can't assume a proper life or a father's role.really i am so sad as we are all black and when I see you,I see me but when I am listening to you i don't see you're african because you have lost some much values. That's what American society made to you.

  • i viewed this first, then the second, and now i'm back to this. i don't agree, but i understand. i have a friend that will get upset if you call her african american. i just feel that it's vice versa, our roots did come from africa but we do have our own culture now. it's a big mess, but i still wouldn't get mad if someone called me african american. (and i'm not even a dark complection) you've made me understand another view.

  • I LOVE your show keep up the Good Work. You are Truly Blessed trust and believe it. Dr. Hale

  • based on culture and not on genetics, the fact remains that our AA culture derived in large part from African culture. Thanx for a interesting vid and viewpoint.

  • Hello. I noticed that u got quite a lotta lotta dislikes on this vid. Even so, I liked it because although I don't...prefer your vernacular, I appreciate the fact that u stated your opinion, and proceeded to support it with logical arguments pertaining to your opinion. For the record, I disagree. Specifically, I think that even if u make the determination whether or not u are AA

  • well this is someone stating correct facts and contorting it to the most ignorant way possible.

  • the Africans had us in slavery with all the other nations its all in the bible, you can read it in the mosaic laws.that is why blacks are known as the lost sheep cause we the only race of people who has no identity of who we are, some even wanna be like Al Pacino like these rappers all are inspired by being gangsters.black are not gangsters we not suppose follow these people these people way of thinking,we had our culture like the passover, etc,we are not suppose follow these people holidays.smh

  • yo dude you right about that we are not Africans we are Isrealites hey man do not argue with them how in the hell can they be African and we poor and and hated, the Africans have a seat in the united nations,we don't, nobody represents us,but they they do with Africans,we cant even get a damn loan the Africans can, these so called black people need wake up which i know they not they busy fucking, smoking, killing, and serving other gods like that pale face man that they think is Christ.its a shame.

  • Brother, I like you alot, I really do, but man when you say those thing's, it cuts like a knife. that's all I have the energy to say,

  • Im white. My entire family are from Croatia... I eat Croatian food. Speak the language and visit when I can. ALL my black friends and friends of friends have never spoken the language of their ancestors. Nor have they eaten the food. Heck! They dont even know where their roots reach. Nigeria? Congo? Mouritinha? Ivory Coast? Its impossible to say African American when you dont know. I know my roots so I realize how grounding and good this is on many levels. Wish my black brothers find theirs

  • @soccerskilj Iunderstand your LOGIC. However u, being white/Croation will NEVER fully understand this subject. U'd have to be black, born outside of Africa. I say that because when black people born outside of Africa step foot on the Afrian continent for the first time, we experience a spiritual rennaisance and soul connectio that we never realized was missing until we got there. U immediately understand the people, culture and perspective.

  • Please consider that most America whites dont know NOTHING about their heritage. Blacks were taken out of Africa unjustly. Most Whites came to America from Europe out of a promise of a new beginning and freedom. Whites in this country know very little to nothing about their own heritage (European most likely). I dont see it as a black issue at all. I know this cause I have seen it all my life. Most whites, like most all blacks, (black people more) are rootless. Its a human problem in America.

  • Going to the land of your families birth grounds and centers you. Its a total connection. I feel this way about Croatia 10000 percent. Malcolm X harped on Pan Africanism. For American Blacks to return to Africa to open a relationship with their homeland. He was a wise, intelligent man. He understood to conquer people you must cut out their sense of identity. My ex wife didnt know that she was Dutch, Irish and English. Most Americans are shut off from their culture... none more than black people

  • U made a good explanation but u cursed alot. If u want to make a serious speech, u should try to talk professionally. I liked the video alot though, I'm white but I am completely against when people discriminate Black Americans. I have alot of friends who have darker skin and I love being with them. As what you were talking about, its a real shame that alot of Black Americans can't carry their culture to The states. U wanna be freinds.

  • @towelmanfilms If u dont like cussing we prolly shudnt be friends lol

  • People, people. He never denounced Africa in any way.

Look me in the eye and tell me that a first or second generation African living in America has the same cultural values and traditions as a person with African heritage whose ancestors settled in the land centuries ago? Do white Americans who have Scandinavian heritage call themselves European Americans? NO! When I hear "European Americans" I think of white naturalized citizens or their children.

  • So with this superiority attitude you have (the reason for such escapes me), I am sure that you

have turned off the few Africans you have managed to meet. I have been to Africa -several times -and know PLENTY Africans and have PLENTY African friends. This "dislike" that you claim Africans have towards blk ppl just doen't exist the way so many ppl claim. You are trying to tackle a subject on this video that is too large for your current education level. Yes, you need to READ.

  • You have insulted African food, you have inslted African civilization by suggesting that lions are walking around attacking people because there are no developed cities. You also propbably think they are all running around naked and swigning on vines. You obviously think this ignorant twisted quasi-culture that's been created in this country and perpetrated by media outlets is superior to African cultures. That's why you laugh about them wearing sandals nd make jokes about shooting blowguns.

  • @africansupremacy leave him, he doesn't know what he is talking about...his wearing dreadlock and smoke pot but he is clearly speacking like a caucasian american will do about Africa.

  • well honestly, i don't like titles, i like being viewed as a human being.. i wanna just be called by my name lol *shrug* hate it or love it.. thats just me..we all created by GOD , well i know i was, so..it is what it is..-

  • Oh Nigga really, is your "dreadlocks" something you adapted from America too? I don't think so, but here are few things you need to do and know

    1. go check out some history books from the library you need them dumb-ass,

2.denying your own identity doesn't make you any different, it makes you ignorant

3.individuals like you aren't contributing positively in black/African American community,

    so find yourself a career.

4.almost everything that you claim to be a black culture belongs to Africa.

  • Your points are incorrect. 1. He doesnt have dreadlocks. 2.History books are written by the victors and are highly debatable. 3. I think this guy is great and honest and makes good points in all his videos. He doesnt need to be a beacon to anybody but himself and all of his responsibilities like his family and friends not to a race of people. face it... American blacks are in no way connected to African blacks on most every level (culture, language, perspective, experience etc...)

  • ummm your african because of your ancestry

  • These comments r funny boiii : [)

  • U r american african bro, but i do c ur point

  • You aren't an "African American," and neither am I. I am Nigerian and you are a Black American. I think everyone is so afraid of being politically INCORRECT, they forget to be correct. If a Black British girls walked the streets, is she now an African American b/c she decided to visit the U.S.? And FYI, the only time I have ever seen a lion was here in NYC, at the Bx zoo. Africa isn't what you see on the "donate to hungry children" commercials.
