Haha I volunteered in this guys Campaign. I do agree a lot of his views about homosexuals is somewhat backwards but I agree with him on everything else practically.
Did Vernon Robinson just throw this together with Powepoint?
I'm fairly liberal, but it annoys me to think that some otherwise rational people who see this ad will go on to assume that ALL conservative politicians are this closed-minded.
Strange that they wouldn't blur the male homosexuals faces, but they blurred the female homosexuals to keep their identities secret, or perhaps they're not real lesbians and were just doing this for the add to deionise homosexuals. I mean, I don't know any lesbians who hold signs saying "God is a dyke". But I do know of anti-lesbian propaganda spinning morons who say "Thank god for 9/11" - because it killed a few gay people. Seems illogical to blur the women's faces and not the men's.
what's wrong with it is its none of your business what others do with their lives. being gay is not a 'lifestyle' -- you are very narrow minded and need to start listening to science.
that would be called 'homophobia' -- and believe me, with that kind of attitude, you'll have people of all orientations staying away. Good day and have fun in the 12th century.
bobem12, you are wrong however to call people "immoral" just because you disagree with how they are. I'm sorry, but you need to learn to respect homosexuals because most of them are well meaning people who just want to live normal lives. I don't understand why that's so controversial to you. I'm sorry.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
are you gay? Its certainly starting to look that way. You can defend them/yourself all you want but I'm not going to respect that lifestyle. Like they say in this video...gays mocking holy matrimony. Thats what they're doing. Why should laws/rules or whatever be changed because they can't act like normal people? Their pushing their views to change marriage and if they got that they'd be on to something else. If the gay community ain't complaining then they ain't happy.
Bobem12 No, I am heterosexual. To say you have to be gay to support gay rights is like saying you have to female to support women rights or african-american to support civil rights. I just don't frankly understand why people have issues with homosexuals. Yes, some can be weird but it's just how people are and as I said earlier, it's your right not to support gay rights, but it's my right to call you close minded and un-christian because you are.
you can call me close-minded all you want. I really don't give a shit. However I have a problem with the "un-Christian" comment. How is it being un-Christian to denounce a lifestyle that is blatantly disrespects the morals and values that Christian people (myself included) have. As I said before, I don't think of myself as "better" than gays or anybody else. I don't think gays are less of a people or anything like that. I just don't approve of it. Whats so wrong with that?
bobem12, keep in mind our founding fathers thought women were second class citizens and were actually among the LAST people to support our break from Britain. I'm sorry if you're incapable of understanding that.
bobem12, in other words we need to restore slavery, witch burning and the divine right of kings in america? yes i know republicans love to live in a fantasy world.
what the hell? Who said anything about slavery? By traditional American values I meant good Christian values...you know, the ones this country was founded on? The founding fathers have to be rolling over in their graves everytime a liberal opens their mouth.
Good Christian values? Such as treating non christians as second class citizens, discriminating against gays, and turning the us into theocracy? is that what you want? a theocracy?
Christian values certainly don't mean treating non-Christians any different than our own. At least those are the Christian values where I come from. As for gays, they can be gay all they want just stay away from me. It doesn't come down to wanting a theocracy, it comes down to having good values and high moral standards (which you obviously lack).
Bobem12, people do NOT choose to be gay, people are gay because they are BORN gay. I'm sorry you are incapable of understanding that. The fact you don't accept gay people shows how close minded and un-christian you are.
Ok, first off I don't buy the bullshit that you're born gay. You're not born gay...its a lifestyle that some people (well...gays) obviously like and they CHOOSE to do it. But thats not even the issue, I accept gay people, like I said I don't care if they're gay but I don't have to like it. I believe they're equal people like the rest of us. I just don't like their lifestyle or especially them pushing their views/lifestyles upon us good Christian people who want no part of it.
Bobem12 How are they pushing their so-called "lifestyles" on people? and we would they want to be gay if it was a choice (it isn't). You're right it's your right not to like homosexuals.
well I'll give you an example. At my college last year they had some big gay day thing where I guess the oject was to see how long they could kiss for. It was right in the middle of the campus where everyone has to walk through. I don't want to see that shit and niether does anybody else. I don't understand why they feel like they have to broadcast it when if they'd just shut the hell up and attempt to lead a normal life like you say they want to they would't have a problem.
Of course, if they were having the same competition between a man and a woman, I bet you wouldn't have a single objection. Hell, you'd probably cheer them on and try to sign up. *That's* the hypocrisy inherent when homophobes such as you try to weasel out of this by saying they don't care if people are gay, but they don't want gays to "broadcast" their lifestyle. If straight people get to do it, gay people should too. Anything less is discrimination.
I AM a lifelong conservative Christian Republican, and the way this ad attempts to insult my intelligence (as well as that of all of Robinson's intended constituents) simply MAKES ME ILL. Anyone who goes for this hokum gives what's Christ's unto Caesar and vice versa. Fools.
Luckily, this country DID vote the Democrats into the House, and the 13th District of North Carolina rejected Vernon Robinson's hateful viewpoints... Mark my words, the hate that is running through the Republican Party is bound to backfire sooner or later
The GOP was founded in 1854 to abolish slavery. The RAT party practically invented slavery. RATs founded the KuKluxKlan. The poll tax was instituted by the party of hate, the RATS to disenfranchise black and poor voters. Racist Jim Crow laws were instituted by the RATs. RATs were the original segregationists who like algore's father, voted against the civil rights act of 1964. Party of hate the Gop sallyman? What are you smoking?
The RAT senator from West Virginia, Robert KKK Byrd, was the grand kleagle of the kukluxklan, and used the term, "white nigger" twice in an television interview. You have a kleagle in your party sallyman who was asked if he ever lynched a man and his reply was "I can't remember." You are as big a joke as your hypocritical RAT party, sallyman.
In 1991 AlSharpton led chants during a NYrally screaming: "No justice, no peace," and "Kill the Jews." In 1995 he called a Jewish property owner who raised his rent on a black tenant, a "cracker." Jesse Jackson called NY "hymietown" and admitted that he spit in white people's soup when he worked in a kitchen. Sallyman, your RAT party is full of hate, but you're too blind to see it.
There are currently more asians, blacks, and hispanics in the Bush Administration than in any administration in American history. The only black man on the Supreme Court was appointed by the GOP. Condeleeza Rice, Elaine Chow, Alberto Gonzales, Alphonso Jackson, Colin Powell, Robert Page, and other distinguished Americans have been given policy making roles in this Administration. Not typical RAT windowdressing to brag to the simple-minded (sallyman), these are substantial positions of power.
The LIBERAL Republican Party of the 1860s ended slavery, HOWEVER, this SAME party in the 1960s did NOT support civil rights (Strom Thurmond) and this is the SAME party denying equal rights to Americans (Bush, Frist, Santorum)creating this hateful CONSERVATIVE GOP party. the CONSERVATIVE Democratic party of the SOUTH is now Republican territory. The Republican party has REACHED out to people who have the same thought process as slave owners.
Robert Byrd was a Kleagle who had the dubious honor of voting against both Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas for Associate Justices of the SCOTUS.
Bush, Frist, and Santorum denying equal rights to Americans? Put down the Kool-aid Sallie.
RATs oppose school vouchers that would give minority students the ability to attend higher quality private or charter schools. Slave owners would have appreciated that.
Repubicans oppose affirmative action, gay rights, and women's rights. THAT is denying rights to Americans. Oh and by the way those "school vouchers" would have placed the tax-burden on lower class tax payers instead of the weathiest 1% which is why the Democrats tried to amend the bill, which failed; leaving them to vote it down
Let's not kid ourselves, RATs are beholden to special interest Teacher's unions, that is why RATs oppose helping low-income students escape under-performing public schools. The RATs are the problem, not the solution to helping inner city schoolchildren. The unions come before the students, so if you want real education reform you have to vote GOP.
oh reallly? What about "No Child Left Behind"? I seem to recall President Bush and the Republicans CUTTING funding for NCLB, not to mention the fact that Clinton's economic surplus back in the '90s doubled funding to inner city public school programs
Are you denying that RATs are beholden to teacher's unions? Since we're discussing education, let's talk about yours. When did Clinton run a budget surplus? Give me the year, and the amount. I'll be waiting for your answer.
In 1998, there was a budget surplus of $69.2 billion. In 1999, there was a budget surplus of $122.7 billion. In 2000, there was a budget surplus of $230 billion. This lead to a $360 billion reduction in the $5.7 trillion national debt from 1998-2000.
Go to the US Bureau of Debt webb site and you will see that in no year of the clinton administration was the national debt reduced. 9/30/2000 $5,674,178,209,886.86
It would be fairly easy to replicate the Clinton economy. Just slash defense spending again and have an overheated stock market based on irrational valuations. At least the current real estate "bubble" is based on tangible assets, with the price increase explained primarily by lower interest rates, caused by low inflation, caused by increased productivity, caused by tax cuts. Supply side economics works every time it's tried.
Don't forget that educational spending by the Bush Administration exceeded that spent by the clintonites because of NCLB, so it's absurd to claim that the GOP opposes educational spending. GOP supports free market approaches such as vouchers, but the DONKs support "one size fits all" similar to Soviet agriculture. The left talks about choice, but refuses to give poor parents choice for their children.
That is not true. Bipartisan committees drafted NCLB; however, one year later, the fiscal budget contained significant CUTS in education spending. Thats YOUR Republican President and Congress. This "one size fits all" platform you mention is non-existent in the Democratic Plan. I would LOVE you see your proof of this stance
RATs oppose school choice for kids because they're in the pockets of the teacher's unions. Only among RATs is in 18% increase in education spending called a "CUT." If the DONKS want to increase it 20% and the GOP wants to increase it 18% the 2% difference is called a cut. This is fuzzy math.
The government did in fact turn a surplus those 3 years according to the CBO; however, Clinton could not control what the Republican Congress spent. Clinton proposed a deficit reduction of 360 billion; however, the Republican Congress would NOT acknowledge it, which is why the deficit continued to rise ever since. By the way, where is your evidence of all these education cuts? There was no proof of any Democratic legislation proposing these cuts
The national debt went up each of the 8 years of the Clinton Administration but you, the clintonites, and some GOP types have bought the smoke and mirrors about the Clinton "surplus." I guess it depends upon what the word is, is. The fact is the national debt increased each and every year of the clinton's misrule.
You are just WRONG! The federal government produced a SURPLUS in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Anyone who says anything else is LYING. Look it up! The treasury department has it documented! You can bash Clinton all you want, just don't LIE for God's sake.
Absolutely remarkable! A sane person who deserves my vote. Those who don't get it are the tinfoil hat wearing, Clinton koolaid drinkers, tree hugging socialists that hate America. This man gets it and gets my vote!
I agree with you 100%. I think what Mr.Robinson is trying to tell us is that the liberal/leftist/socialist mindset is a bit kooky. One could even say today's left are exhibiting the characteristics of the mentally ill (mentally challenged for you politically correct whackjobs)
What a douchebag. I hope the copyright holders of the 'Twilight Zone' and 'Leave it to Beaver' catch on to this in time to get it yanked from the airwaves. I seriously doubt they would have licensed this crap.
Republican voters must be some of the dumbest people on this planet. Only a complete retard would vote for someone this stupid.
