  • Sasha Shulgin = Jesus of the 1900s!

  • Is it just me or is the speaker during the intorduction acting like a total a**hole when referrring to Shulgin's area of study? Im not the brightest person in the world, but, i somewhat think i can tell when a person is talking down to somone...

  • @NoGoodUserNamesSadly

I know he did some counseling on what the solitude in space would do to the mind in reletion to a mission to Mars.

  • Sasha!!!!!!

  • Hard to say he did anything to make MDxx, but he had the ability and talent to realize why MDA was a good start, add on a 3,4-methyl and activity is more medicinal for psych-therapy. Very amazing ppl!

  • I wish i knew how to make mdma or lsd my self, then i woulnt have to worry about getting crappy cut stuff anymore.

  • @TheTalksick absolutely right!! it was patented in 1913

  • Haha i love this man, he is the new age magician merlin ^^

  • In the midst of the middle of PHIKAL by the speaker and Ann, his wife. Thank you both for the truths that you shared!

Most fascinating book, that subtly underlies the truth that many valuable substances ("drugs") are not truly available for the average citizen - the mentally ill fed the same junk at the behest of the Korporate Machine...

  • There is no objective reality separate from the observer.

  • awesome dude.

i'm probably gonna do my major in biochemistry.

  • Has anyone tried Philosophers Stones?? Thanks

  • very nice

  • I've tried shrooms once and exctacy once and either had an effect on me....But SHERM on the other hand, (pcp) blew my mind! Lol...Never try it

  • lol, why is that all great men always look like hell in appearance? He looks like a fucking caveman

  • fuckit it makes you feel unbelievably amazing and free thats why he called it 'window' because when you are on it,its like your looking trew a window to freedom with no anxiety taughts.thank you man for the good memories iv had on mandy :)

  • "I was totally fascinated with a drug that could get in there, allow you to see things you would not normally see, and yet you knew to be valid..."

And THAT is the reason why THEY are, and will always be, afraid of drugs, and terrified of legalization.

Bless you Dr. Shulgin. I wish you could live to be 1000. Humanity sorely needs more geniuses like Sasha.

  • right not addictive its the other drugs that get mixed in wit the mdma the coke heroin all sorts of tantalizing goodys that further warp your perception of your surroundings allowing you to fall in to what can only be explained as ECSTASY XP but in texas we just call em skittles >_<

  • @dancingXninja It would be nice if every community had 2 or 3 clandestine "whitehat" chemists. Get some pure shit on the market. All this stuff getting imported is laced with dangerous stuff and supports people who commit REAL crimes, such as murder

  • all hail russian emigrants with possibilities!

  • Pretty sure he didn't "invent" ecstasy...but yeah.

  • @MsNooneinparticular he did actually

  • Psychology is the mirror of the physiological state of our brain. If sth is addictive, then it means this is the situation of its physiological health.

  • i wanna thank you alex, cause i have touched the sky with one finger

  • ketamine

  • There's a drug that speeds up time?

  • @PAPASCROTUM345 "There's a drug that speeds up time"?

Your comment/question made me lol since it would rightly seem absurd and baffle anyone that did not realise it is ones subjective experience of time that is altered not time itself...but then wtf is time 'itself'?I might have a think about it?

  • Consciousness is addictive

  • @FletcherHabit consciousness is divine ;)

  • Does anyone know the full name of the book that he mentioned? I'd appreciate it.

  • Think of the underlying law of nature.

Consider its astounding inferences and implications.

The single, underlying law ... of nature! Not merely of physics, chemistry, psychology, biology, etc., but of all fields of inquiry known to humankind. The law we can all relate to, identify, understand and apply.

Ask yourself. What is the underlying law of nature?

Delight in the question. Have fun in the process of finding the answer firsthand for yourself.

    Google it, as a start.

  • @SUPERPHANTAZM I'm an American and I'm not racist at all. However saying that all Americans are racist and are "murdering the planet" is a stereotype, which is in itself a little racist. Don't be a hippocrite.

  • @GeneralP0tato yeh your race is a plague. Its just something you yourself dont realize. the faster your country falls the better the world will be!

  • Nice Hitler quote. Also, American isn't a race.

  • Anyone who breads with another race/besides there own on soil that is not there traditional/historical land is classified a new race as it is two bloodlines forming to create a new race in a new land.Hens a lot of americans are part of the American Race! And they need to die the faster the better!

  • @CONSTRINGACY the human race is a plague to itself

  • I agree

    guitarnukka724

Thats why we need to spread through the universe destroying all in our path!

  • haha

  • Don't be a hippopotamus!

  • Americans are educated imbeciles. Any idiot can tell you doing drugs alters consciousness. Here's a better idea. How about having American stop being racists and murdering the planet.Maybe that will increase consciousness.

    Morons!

  • lol wow i have never heard something so intelligent before!!! you put Alexander Shulgin to shame... lol stop judging people as a group we are all individuals.

  • sounds like hes learnt like everything

  • What a Great man...!

  • genius!

  • what drug speeds up time?

  • television

  • @MidnightDC696969 speed?

  • @MidnightDC696969 Any drug thats intensely enjoyable because as everyone knows-time flies when your having fun.

  • hahaha, PowerPoint sucks, enough said. LOL

  • this guy deserves a nobel prize. if only the average politician were this open-minded.

  • lol.

  • this is not surprising Mr. Shulgin. Amphetamine compounds always trigger a sort of wanting to dissect things, go into details, well at least in comparision with non-amphetamine type psychedelic compounds.

  • thanks for the up!

  • There's an age-old saying about jews that sums up everything regarding all of the money-grabbers such as the Madoff family, Lou Pearlman, Jefferey Picower, Marc Rich, Hank Greenberg, Reed Slatkin and countless other jews.

"When they are speaking, they are lying. When they are silent, they are stealing."

  • There is a timeless old saying by immortal.

"Your better of rich and guilty, then poor and innocent."

  • there's also an old chinese saying

"you're better off rich and innocent than poor and guilty"

  • why? is the speakers of this vid jweish ?

  • Picower - a thief.

  • @farerse because no one listens to ignorant racists

  • dont know what u mean

  • excellent video series phenothiazine!! please keep the dr alexander shulgin/dr david nichols lectures coming. i wish i had the ability to attend these lectures in person but current circumstances do not allow. thank you very much! may this information help people come to a more complete understanding of psychedelic compounds.

  • I have been addicted to marijuana, you can be addicted to ecstasy lol. Those are psychadelics...

  • how old is he here ? is he still alive

  • He's 84.

  • Feel is this amazing man still alive and how can i send this man a message that I love his work.

  • Yes, he is alive...read about him on Erowid, in the character vaults..."Alexander Shulgin", He still travels, and speaks...Love him.

  • yeah i wish i could write him a letter aswell

  • im faded right now.... and i came to the conclusion that if this guy was never here life on earth would be so fucking boring. think about it.... a world with out drugs..... everything would be so dull

  • lol im faded too

  • I really love Shulgin, I want to study neuropsychopharmacology and maybe follow this man footstep

  • It's wild that the underground psychedelic community and the DOD DARPA and all share the same hero...

  • how could he try so many drugs and not become addicted to any?

  • He chose not to.

  • Psychedelic drugs are NOT addictive in any way shape or form!!!

  • agreed 100%

    this man was a genius

  • @ddexter25 well they can be mentally addictive just like anything lol.

  • @ddexter25 not all of them, there are MANY psychedelic drugs that are addictive. ecstasy IS addictive.

  • @dooochbaggg ...no it's not... By "addiction," I assume you mean, "Chemical Addiction." Distinctly separate from "Mental Addiction" which is an issue of self control and thus MDMA renders itself as addictive as any human activity that may involve pleasure... Such as eating, sex, entertainment, sports, etc... So, If your trying to tell people to avoid these things because there "addictive," your asking people to sacrifice the meaning of life.

  • @dooochbaggg Xtc is not, repeat NOT adictive; either physically or mentally. It is, however, potentially a superb therapeutic tool for people suffering from a variety of hangups. Its use has great potential in the therapeutic area.

  • @DrZenith for sure. its use has been proved to help therapeutically. im just saying if you take xtc often, make a habit out of it for a long time, when you quit it you will experience withdrawl and you will find it hard to quit, so its addictive.

  • @dooochbaggg psychological addiction is very different from physiological addiction. People are psychologically addicted to their favorite TV shows, favorite foods, and even emotional states. That's WAY different than the mechanisms in heroin where very quickly a user is using in order to keep from feeling physically ill. Confusing these two types of addiction is in itself harmful and misleading, and is a strategy used to instill fear.

  • @ddexter25 Psychedelic drugs can be addictive, as any behavior can be addictive. Most psychedelic drugs do not cause addiction in the classical sense of the word, (reward system based craving, withdrawal ect.) but they can cause very serious psychological addiction. It is naive to think that something cannot be 'addictive' in any way.

  • @Kellogs1121 very right!!

  • Life is addictive.

  • @BenBeanin Ain't that the truth, seriously think about the ending of your life for a while and it'll probably become apparent :P. Although I do believe addictions can be overcome.

  • @ddexter25 This is a half-truth, for nothing is addictive, it's the human mind that has a hard on for seemingly random external objects and chemicals.

  • Anyone know the name of the book by the Swiss chemist "Paul Car..." he was talking about? I can't even spell the chemist's name right.

  • @ddexter25 false. Everything can be psychologicaly addictive, and addiction for anything may be harmful. Even thou classical psychodelics can help with other addictions, cure maybe poisonus. Psychodelics CAN be abused, and you MAY become addicted to them (even if 'only' psychologicaly). Having that said, you will probably be hinted while during experience that you're doing it wrong and what's your real problem. But you can still ignore it and continue tripping it will mean you are addicted.

  • @ddexter25 lmao, you obviously have not tried regretamine!!!

  • What a LEGEND.

Thats all that needs to be said. Period.

  • in what way?

  • @Percy203 u can say that again

  • slipa dica anyone

  • a very lucky man and the backbone of society

  • Terence Mckenna

  • If you really want to get a grasp on the mind. Terence McKenna is a pioneering hero of the psychedelic landscape. It's a damn shame he couldn't live to see the culmination of his life's work culminate in the next 4 years.

  • Who's to say he isnt watching us? Sasha Shulgin was a great influence on Terence and vice versa.

  • thank you dr. shulgin

  • meh, just goes to show what a fool you are.

Anyone who thinks he's sure of the answers has failed miserably.

Remember you are human. What these people do is try to shed some light on our incredible ignorance.

You're an insult to scientific thought.

  • fuck i can barely hear

  • indeed that was true indeed

  • Long live Dr Shulgin. Thanks Dr Shulgin for PIHKAL and TIHKAL. And thank you for posting. This is a five star and saved to favorites and playlisted, somehing I might not do with someting this long. But this is awesome... again, thanks for posting and getting these ideas out.

  • thank you for posting :)

  • you can expand your mind with pot and peyote

  • does anyone know of this paul that he speaks of at 4:00

  • Paul Karrer

  • thank you very much

  • yeah I'm going to order Paul Karrer's book on amazon... and read it to be exactly like Sasha.

  • Nobody seems to address the issue that is at the heart of consciousness. Guys it's simple. Dr. Ashoi shows it how the outside physical world and the internal world of thoughts and feelings is all nothing but our own consciousness. We do not "experience" or become "aware of" "something" objectively. Dr. Ashoi has explained very clearly in his book that the "something" we experience or aware of is not "some thing" outside, but that "something" is itself that person's own consciousness stuff.

  • Anyone confused about consciousness should watch video titled "Reality of Sensory World" by Ashoi posted on Mindlighten. It is so simple. Ashoi makes it quite clear. Anyone serious about this stuff should check it out.

    Also check out website MindDimension.

I would be interested in knowing what some of the famous scientists think of Ashoi's work on mind and consciousness. It's serious stuff guys. You know what that makes us out to be? Humanoid with virtual reality generator. Check it out!
