  • Someone please sack mikelove2110 for copying the top comment and it becoming top comment.

The man in charge of sacking mikelove2110 has been sacked

  • @sgtNACHO ...? his comment was older then the top comment by ellenkingsley

  • At least they didn't put him in a g-wiz...

  • Top Comments say the same thing -___- thats stupid

  • ey is ja lustig

  • Lol botht the top comments is the same

  • don't try this at home...

  • isn't the car they used is the same they used for car darts. i can tell by the number plate

  • jeremy should've just said people die drowing in cars more than boats, why cant people just survive and not die, i mean, how hard can it be????

  • that akward moment when the top comments are the same

  • Top comments are the same just with quotes...-_-

  • loooool

  • well yeah those statistics of more people drowning in cars than boats is kinda logical aint it. More people drive cars then sail boats. Even if less than 1% of carowners drowned and like 15% of boatowners still there are so much more people owning cars....

  • Did he died?

  • @OlirockCP yea he died but they got a person who looked just like him to replace the old richard

  • @fireballrox i think when he was about to get in the water, they stopped the shooting came back to the studio, made him say his famous line, and finally got back to the stunt. simple and logical, isn't it ?

  • "Image driving along and sudenly u drive ur friking Veyron into a lake"

  • lol pause at 0:02 look at hamsters face

  • pause at 0:00

  • which episode is this? anyone know? thnx

  • I think he died

  • Not even a GSI.Oh thank you(sarcasm )

  • And kids, feel free to try this at home.

  • 1:38 SAUSAGE

  • Maybe they did this experiment with THE STIG and he failed!!!

  • @Ashwin031298 Some say, that the STIG can breath underwater.

  • why the FUCK is Justin Bieber on my Top Gear? Girls like him aren't allowed here.

  • 34 people failed

  • lol "we'll find out later if i die"

  • the commercial in the beginning took another 20 seconds of my life!

  • @ReddoFreddo I doubt you would of done anything interesting with those 20 seconds anyway.

  • It had the james bond car cannon attachment, with special diving gear for the "Stig"...

  • Did he died?

  • LUL

  • shank the 33 haters of the greatest show on earth

  • @theGameMakingReject i would think that is more of opinion than fact, there really is no greatest show on earth.

  • lol well find out later if i die

  • C'mon, Hammond survived that devastating car crash. At this point, drowning can't possibly kill him. In fact, I don't think ANYTHING can kill him.

  • @MightyKombat Apart form cancer,lukemia,diabetes,and the lot. :P

  • Hammond's got balls. You never see May or Clarkson do stuff like this and for example sitting in a car in north pole temperatures.

  • and we'll find out later if i die... i think the only way that line would work is if you are talking about a fictional character you're acting as in a movie... otherwise.. the obvious response is.. well you're still here, and you're still talking...

  • @Pheonixlgnd thats that point. its funny

  • How do i become one of these guys lol

  • was there a guy in the back seat of the car or am i just going crazy?

  • @ColdeyLive Probably saftey diver

  • @ColdeyLive i've read Richards (<3 god i lurvv that man) book, and it was a diver with special equipment in case something went wrong

  • You can really see on Richards body language that he is under much stress!

  • have a hammer that breaks glass and break the window

  • there is someone in the back

  • Can i just point out that he wasnt wearing his seat belt...

  • @kitohol Are you saying that like its a bad thing? He probably isn't wearing it so he can get out of the car faster. I do think it would make more sense if he did wear it, because most people are wearing seat belts when this happens, but for his safety, I can see why he's not.

  • @kitohol I think that is so he can exit the car faster.

  • 5,4,3,2,1 ACTION!... Buffering

  • It really would be a cool idea if they just did a bit on how to escape a submerging car

  • aren't volkswagons supposed to float or something? he should try that some time

  • I thought hamsters would squeal and try to get out if you put them in water XD!

  • how can he die if he's right there at the last part? -_-

  • Hammond spent all this time doing extensive safety training with dozens of safety divers and instructors to go in a car in a pool.

Clarkson drove a car straight into a pool in his suit...

    yea, right.

  • @tjw00 good point.

  • a dutch protest song.../watch?v=pSHbXaOpMps

  • "We'll find out later if I die" LOL.

Poor little guy looks horrified! D:

  • i read "Richard Hammond's Underware Car Challenge".. i was excited to see what this was :D

  • Like the Veyron, it was too good that it was capable of submerging.

  • @horizoneatsun14 congrats probably just you and 80,000 other people around the world

  • Hamster hasn't done any of the crazy things like this anymore, I guess crashing and almost dying in a rocket car would do that to anyone

  • i have 2 practice the gay-signal ,see me i'm gay , and i'm bleedin' light-r3ed

  • This was very interesting, I remember clearly the old episode of 999 where they said you get out when there's water on both sides, it's stuck with me since childhood for some reason

  • fucking ads...

  • SILLY HAMSTER didnt you know cars sink?

  • I LOVE TOPGEAR!!!

  • ofcourse the car is going to sink, with the unbalanced weight of the steering wheel on the wrong side it will go straight to the bottom

  • "we'll find out later, if i die"

well that kind of gives it away doesnt it?

  • This was made on my birthday! :)

    I love Top Gear.

  • @thomasfan1993 Gratz. :D!

  • they are going to let a young one do it thats f up

  • See but there's a huge difference between the stunt vid of the car driving into a lake and the stunt of hamond being lowered or dropped into a pool. The car driving into the lake had it's windshield shatter, and so it flooded, fast. That's very unlikely to happen in hamond's stunt. Watch mythbusters when they did this, never broke a windshield, same stunt more or less. That gives you loads more time

  • @Shaggyshadric Late reply but without shattered windows, the pressure will take ages to even out so you'll never be able to get out of the car or open a door. If you shatter a window the car will fill up quickly, so the pressure will equalize and you'll be able to drown before the car drowns too far.

  • @ryder187mac with a shattered windshield rammed up your face you wont get out either way so it doesn't matter if you can open the door anyway.

  • I wish they showed the preparation that goes into stunts on TV more often. I think these days people don't understand the kind of preparation that goes into producing shots like these, and the potential dangers the people involved face.

  • that video they were showing to hammond before he started; how many modern windshield actually shatter into shards like that nowadays? honestly

  • i swear there's someone in the back seat at 2:45

  • @DaftPACman yh its a diver

  • fkn adverts..

  • lol who cares how the english are represented... its a bloody good TV show xD

  • @djdavesy thats true

  • if you dont like tea you dont like many warm drinks.

    and biscuits are awesome

  • I'd better be a tea drinking snob with a silver spoon up my mouth than a filthy farmer dancing around with pigs all around him

  • Everyone is always fuck america, or fuck the U.K. or what be it. I say fuck the world and all of its ignorant pigs and your nationalist head-up-the-ass ideals.

  • A Car landing in a lake happpened recently infact it was a veyron, trying to be a submarine (lol)

  • @RomeBEn20 Just hearing about that hurts my soul.

  • @RomeBEn20 haha,i think u talking bout the dumb ass looking for his cell and he ended up in a marsh?

  • @RomeBEn20 well , a veyron does look like like a submarine

  • @RomeBEn20 yes it did! i saw it in the water!

  • @RomeBEn20 The driver thought he was fast enough to break the "laws" of water :))

  • why isnt he wearing his seat belt?

  • so he's not strapped into a sinking car...

    makes sense to me...

  • but if its an emergency sink? haha i mean youd have it on when you crashed?

  • aha but remember this is a stunt not an emergency... logic dictates that you simply don't strap yourself into a car you KNOW is going to sink... i know it's just a seatbelt but something could still go wrong...

  • touché

  • @avensis:

The Opel Vectra is similar to the Vauxhall Cavalier, not the Vauxhall Carlton. That was - as already mentioned - the Opel Omega. :)

  • Well I believe it makes a change for an English show to copy an American show.

You lot have been copying us for fucking years.

  • p.s.

The BBC had a show in the 90's called 999 about our emergency services.

So we did this stunt about 13 - 14 years ago I believe.

I didn't realise this was a cock measuring competition.

You Americans always think you did everything first?

You don't even have your own language.

  • yeah i agree.

    fuck off america

  • I hate the american stereo type... I'm american but I can't relate to anything every other country says about us... Maybe I'm Canadian?

  • yeh true, but it's the same as Americas stereotype of English people, there really aren't any english like that. I guess every country has it...

  • Theres and amaricans english stereotype?

  • yeh of course there is, I see it everywhere. Off the top of my head I remember Friends and stuff, but I know there are loads. English here are typically presented as posh, polite, restrained, rich (live in manor houses etc), tea drinking (ok that ones true ^^) While I don't mind, it does get annoying when I see it all the time

  • Oh right... Duh... Stupid tea drinkin' pompous ass! Haha JK. Tea and Biscuits is awesome.

  • Can't disagree with that :D

  • You know that telling America to fuck off on one if its own websites is completely moronic, right?

  • YouTube wouldn't be the success it is if it wasn't for its international audience, you probably wouldn't know about YouTube.

Stop pissing me off on my European internet (which is an European invention) using your European computer (Yes, Europeans invented the computer too) and finally get out of your house that is built with European architecture.

  • @Svendevarennes Are you daft? The internet was not invented by Europeans, it was a collective effort over many years, and its predecessor was ARPANET, by Americans. Invented the computer? No, Zuse invented a programmable device, but the fist digital programmable device was invented in 1937 and called the ABC. And it was American. Many models came later with contributions from all over the globe. There is not one inventor or country of origin, so pull your head out of your ass.

  • @purplekilt Actually the Internet was invented by Europeans. Eather the German or the Swiss as a military project. Then America, England and other companies from countries bought rights to it, and sold it to homeowners.

  • @allisont01 @allisont01 No, it wasn't. it was a collective by all different people around the world. Anyone who tries to lay claim to the internet is wrong, since so many people deserve credit around the world. I cant post web addresses, or I'd give you a complete list of everyone who has contributed.

Now, what you may be referring to is the world wide web It is defiantly European, but that is not the internet.

  • @Svendevarennes Oh, and youtube was successful in the US even before it expanded into the European market, but you wouldn't know that, would you? Oh, so you know where I live, and what kind of house I live in, do you? Oh that's right! Europeans invented doors and windows! And floors! Did you invent air too?

  • @purplekilt Actually, yes. Henry Cavendish, an Englishman, discovered the elements existing in air.

  • @Bartoman7 "Invented' and 'discovered' are two very different things.

  • @purplekilt europeans and loads of english people have lead the way in advancement in technology and inventions, americans have money so they develop on these ideas and then claim it as their own

  • @ELK4RLIT0 That's one of the stupidest statements I've ever heard. People all around the world contribute to things either through invention and innovation(of which I've noticed you don't know the difference). Saying Europe is the sole provider of new ideas just shows your ignorance. Either contribute to the conversation about the internet and give proof or shut up.

  • @purplekilt chill dude no need to cry about it, its true what i said but i didnt say americans didnt lead the way in other inventions did i so back off.

  • @ELK4RLIT0 You make an aggressive, stupid comment and then tell me to back off? You made the comment. And yes you did say Americans in essence don't lead the way in any inventions, that they only claim things as their own. Perhaps you would like to go read what you wrote again?Either back it up or don't say anything at all.

  • To clear the question "Omega", "Rekord" or "Carlton":

It ist a Vauxhall Carlton. Same as the Opel Omega.

It can not be a Opel Rekord. Simply compate tail lights of the Rekord E2 with the Omega A and the car in the video.

Vauxhall kept the model name Carlton while Opel switched from Rekord to Omega.

    That's all folks. :)

  • When Opel changed to Vectra in the very early 90's, Vauxhall still used the name Cartlon, I'm not sure, but I tink it is.

  • why was there no windshield in the car on the video? that might make it fill up a bit faster, don't ya think?

  • Because it broke hitting the water. But: Windscreens are build that the do NOT burst like that?

  • it's an opel omega

  • it's an opel kadett...(vauxhall ~ opel)

  • It´s not a kadett - lol

    It´s a wauxhall Carlton/opel omega

  • Wow its like watching the same thing they did on Mythbusters except replace Adam Savage with Richard Hammond and replace a Ford Taurus with all its lables ripped off with something that looks like the british equivalent of a Ford Taurus.

    Hardcore. :D

  • mate its a vauxhall a german car...but ur right basically the same

  • My mistake. :)

  • vauxhall is actually english. Opel is german

  • true but this model is 1:1 Opel Astra

    with a different badge

  • No it´s an Opel omega

  • It's an english badge on a german car. They actually still think that that is the most you can let english change a good car, to remain being good :put a different badge on it.

Ow yeah, it's an Opel Omega, or whatever the name is on the island. You can see that from 2 miles away.

  • the companies of opel and vauxhall merged years ago. they also have a common product line. the name vauxhall was kept in the countries where vauxhall was more popular, as was the name opel.

  • brave hamster

  • wow brave man, i would probably get colostrophobic or (afraid of being in small spaces), even though i dont have colostrophobia

  • claustrophobic*

  • colostrophobic : fear of colostomi bags

  • ha ha ha!! you plik!

  • lol, do you even know how to spell the word?

  • HIS HAIRS SHORT :O lol

  • Brave man that is.

  • this guy's got guts to do this. for some reason i've always had this random (yet extreme) fear of being in a car that was sinking in water...so seeing Richard do this is frikin insane, in my opinion. for a lack of better words.

  • hahaha a swimming hamster

  • even if he did have safety people things can still go wrong, there is always the potential of going wrong im sure you would be scared also!

  • If you're so tough why dont you try it. I dont think it has anything to do with being 'pussy' as you call it, it's just a human respons to have fear when you're in a situation in which loads of people have actually died...

  • You can still panic, inhale water and damage your lungs so badly that you'll die of suffocation. So brenthoser99, stop being an internetthoughguy and do it yourself, upload your video and show us all how 'original' you are.

  • I bet it would be good to have a sunroof in this situation! :D

    ...right?

  • Comment removed

  • but what if you got out before the water got that high?

  • Or a sledgehammer ;)

  • Daredevil hamster richard hammond? hahaha

  • i would love to do that sure it would be scary but it would be a great experience though

  • I love this!

    bless him!

    I really felt for him!

    his eyes!

I think he is really fit...

    dunno what anyone else thinks

    Emm

    x

  • FYI, I completely agree, and I think plenty of other people do too. ;)

2:19 Hot! But at the same time completely freaked out, I'm sure. You couldn't pay me anything to do that!

  • What About A Million Dollars...?

  • Mayyybe. I'd probably agree to it then not be able to actually go through with it. Too scary.

  • "and we'll find out later if i die."

    lol

  • I remember reading in On the Edge how scared he was doing this. Thats not acting in the vid. I love Richard all the more

  • Richard is one daredevil! he allows himself to sit inside a car while it is struck by lightning and now to sit inside a car that will be placed in water! damn cool!

  • These are both childsplay, I think, compared to nearly getting killed in the jet car crash.... then returning to the same car related job.... and still do stunts.
