AWD isn't always the best. Ground clearance along with aired down tires make it work. I pull people out of the sand every time I go over there. For free.

this was a first time visit to Ocracoke for my sister.
she learned this lesson the hard way.
and of course we sisters were there to poke fun. how could we not??
ha!
personally, i have a jeep wrangler with 4 wheel drive and of course i also let some air out of the tires. i warned my sister... but i suppose she had to learn the hard way.
