  • She's not Hispanic unless they have her saying "I-yi-yi?" Charo ruined it for everybody.

  • Man, i loved that show saturday mornings, beautiful childhood memories, thanks for uploading it! :D

  • How did the Master Blaster even know about the real world?

  • It's embarrassing to say now, but I worshiped this show as a kid, saw every episode at least twice! It was the 80s, I knew no better! lol

  • Comment removed

  • The best thing about this now, is that the drummer of the band gets turned into an animated version of Clarke Duke from the movie "Sex Drive" and "Hot Tub Time Machine",...LOL...

  • @EasyRider321 Except that the drummer is a chick, butt-dumpling.

  • THIS WAS MY FAV cartoon as a kid!!! No one ever knows what the heck I am talking about when I describe it! I knew I wasn't crazy! I remembered the song and kids and all.

  • Vanilla Ice pre-rap. lol

  • NOSTALGIAAAAA.....

  • Wow the 80's cast of Twilight

  • kidd was sssssoooo hot

  • Is that the same bad guy from The Last Dragon, cartooned?

  • @hassNpheffer Strange how they are both after entertainers to benefit his interests.

  • t get's me going, keeps me moving on,

hooked on my system, I'm playing on and on!

  • It's a little known fact during it's original run, cocaine fumes would sometimes filter all the way through the tv set into your living room. I accidentally got high three times from the indirect effects while watching this as a kid.

  • Wow! This IS what I was looking for! I wasn't so sure until I saw the little fairy. My little girl mind remember the fairy! lol!

  • It's Boss Hog!!!

  • Wow, from back in the Olden Days when M-tv actually played music videos! When I was a kid there was a live-action show just like this: "The Monkees."

fslayer1290 is correct: "Kidd Video" : the music industry :: "Network" : the television industry (but...I double dawg dare you to get that theme song out of your head!)

  • YAYYYY!!!!! KIDD VIDEO i still know the words to the intro!! god bless yt

  • A hidden gem from the 80's. Not many remember this show but it was great.

  • It's like they took everything awful about the 80's and distilled it into a concentrate of pure pot and coke fueled evil *lol*

Barely remember this show... my mind must have blissfully hid it from my conscious mind. I seem to remember that they had these horrible lip-syncing live-action music videos randomly strewn throughout the cartoon.

  • llevo años preguntado sobre esta serie y todos me tomaban de a loco

  • @SpawnXt a mi igual

  • Finally, I found it!!!!

  • wow one of the reasons i woke up on saturday morning

  • this was on when MTV was huge and the advent of music videos.

  • WOW! I barely remember this!

  • Wow! ...Nostalgia up the arse!!

I had been trying, for years, to remember what the name of this show was.

This was obviously a metaphor for a record executive/producer trying to control the free-thinking of musicians.

I just realized that the one with the glasses was Robbie Rist. He was in the movie "Iron Eagle" around the same time as this. As a kid, he played Cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch. He's still a musician but also does voice work.

  • This cartoon brings back many memories of my childhood.

Thank you so much for this uplod.

  • Why did Rush Limbaugh kidnap those kids?

  • @TheKrackerJap Because he digs New Wave. That's why he sometimes uses 'The Spirit of Radio' as bumper music. Of course someone whose real name is "Rush" would be a Rush fan.

  • ...Thank you for the flash back ; )

  • Saturday mornings are just not the same anymore :(

  • Carla and Glitter were so hot. :D

  • @ICHIBANKILLA lol i agree! especially Carla that was my baby right there

  • I don't know how you made it up to here but I could only remember the music. I tried searching for "80s cartoon rock band" which led me to a website where a guy was wondering whether he "dreamed" this cartoon or it really existed. Then, somebody would say "Aren't you talking about... Kidd Video?". Gotta love Internet! haha

  • I LOVE THIS CARTOON!!! All the characters were cool.

  • This show was the SHIT on NBC

  • Anyone know what kind of truck that yellow truck is? I'm gonna guess a Datsun, but that's a guess, it's probably something else. It's funny that when you see this now, you've got a little bit of this stuck back in the back of your head, and you're like, Wow, where did the time go?!! The 80's ( for me ) went by WAY too fast! It's like, i didn't even get a chance to be a kid, and now i'm 30 years old. Life's no fair! I should be still "driving" my KITT pedal car around. If i had a time machine..

  • @001GenLee

    It's a Subaru BRAT. :D

  • @001GenLee

I pretty sure the truck was an early model Subaru Brat.

  • Man I remember this like yesterday. Great times!!!!

  • Memories

  • sounds like that nick show true jackson ripped some off this song off

  • I'm taking you to the flipside. Surf's up dudes

  • Does anyone knows where can i buy this soundtrack?

  • :48-:52

Great, Master Blaster took Kidd Video, but left Depeche Mode!

  • @UdoShan He was afraid that if he plugged the Copy Cats into Depeche Mode they would go emo and start cutting themselves.

  • I'm sooo glad someone else remembers this cartoon. I'm so tired of trying to explain it to my friends and them looking at me saying "Huh, what?"

  • @moviechik80 You REALLY want to draw some blank stares, try bringing up "Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea".

  • My sister and I LOVE this video. It brings wonderful memories!!!!!! We're 32 years old.

  • @normayestela well said, im 32 too, lol. 80s, best time to grow up. so many cartoons. the 80s were so cool in los angeles.

  • my kids have nothing to wake up for on saturdays.

  • LOL I remember watching this. I wonder where they are now?

  • Damn, I wish my Subaru would turn into a hovercraft!

  • this brings back some long forgotten memories... the only things I remember were those cats fooling around with invisible paint in that one episode...

  • I used to have the biggest crush on Ash, hehe. I still think he's cute.

  • I had a big crush on Kidd!

  • Cousin Oliver!

  • Wow. I was in 4th grade when this cartoon was on Saturday mornings. I had the biggest crush on Carla! LOL.

    It WAS on NBC!

  • If i have the right memory this cartoons was on NBC right???---Men what a times!!!!

  • Looks like it would be a fun series. I don't remember it,though.

  • Her alarm goes off at 11:40? LOL!

  • Beware the fat man in the mirror.

  • Man, I miss these times...

  • My sister and I and all of our friends loved this show, thought it was the bomb diggity.

  • me acuerdo que yo lo veia!!! en argentina dios mio que emocion!

  • quantu ricordi!! grandi 80

  • Copycats = Epic

  • MTV and new wave....for kids! This is exactly what made it okay to use drugs and be as gay as possible. Don't even try posting anything that says otherwise. Do kids today have anything nearly this awesome? Man, that Master Blaster was a mean guy, that mean guy laugh gives him right away, but the cat henchmen on drugs were cool.

  • @WestHollywoodWarrior "be as gay as possible?" :)) LOL! Ain't nothing gay about the 80s .... Gayness need to go back underground like it was in the 80s. ... dam dem gays!

  • thanks... I couldn't remember

  • @0:05 Epic "Yeahhhh!"

  • omg,,, isnt it weird when you havent heard or even thought of something for almost 25 years...but 10 seconds in youre singing along with it? i love nostalgia. ty toolbot. maybe my boys will be saying the same thing about big time rush in 20 years.

  • OMG....I've been searching this cartoon for a very-very long time...

Whoever posted or upload this video,I wanna say thanks....Peace for the 80's

  • yeha! i'm 25 and i love kidd video :D

  • I usually watched this when kid :) On the US and my home on Mexico. Nice show! Miss the 80s so much!

  • Oh my god... It must have been 25 years since I last saw or heard this... I had all but forgotten it until I heard the famous, "From my video to my radio!" hook... Holy nostalgia. I must have been 4 years old when this song filled me with life... And now, it still penetrates the bleak mantle of depression that adulthood has brought. What I would give to go back to those bygone times... So beautiful...

  • @phubans Well spoke

  • I wonder how many people know that this is where the phrase "see you on the flip side" came from?

  • @JenniferPresents

Make you wonder how many people still remember that phrase..

  • Hell yes! Kidd Video was the shit!

  • Funny. Whiz was Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch!

  • @cdman882 he was also the voice of Michaelangelo in the first live action TMNT movies. also Kevin Nash, the voice of the main villain here, was the voice of Splinter in the original TMNT cartoon.

  • @g8btony cool! didn't know all that. thanks for the info. i am officially smarter now. :)

  • @g8btony Actully, it's Peter Renaday. Not Kevin Nash. ;)

  • @g8btony the wrestler!?

  • @EmperorofCartoons Kevin Nash played Super Shredder at the end of TNMT2, I think.

  • @samurphy u are correct sir

  • I miss this show!! Totally rocked. What happened...went off the air so suddenly. No album, nothing. Boo! It need to be back on tv pronto.

  • When I was a kid I never knew what this show was called.

What's more eighties, this or Beverly Hills Teens?

  • @MisterFiend This. By far. 100%. Kidd Video pretty much is the animated embodiment of the 80s.

  • This was, hands down, the single most 80's-tastic kids show. It completely doesn't translate to any generation before or since. The clothes, the music, the lingo, the trippyness. It was a lot of fun back in the day, but no kids today would get this at all.

  • @jdtwk123 Yeah. Except Master Blaster. A fat, greedy, heartless, evil corporate executive out to enslave people for greed and power is still pretty contemporary.

  • This was, hands down, the single most 80's-tastic kids show. It completely doesn't translate to any generation before or since. The clothes, the music, the lingo, the trippyness. It was a lot of fun back in the day, but no kids today would get this at all.

  • dragon rider 3458 i agree with you wholeheartedly I wish I was still a kid

  • grandiiiiiiiii!!! ke emozione il ritrovamento di questo video!!!

  • Here's something I was wondering about for some strange reason: assuming Earth isn't aware of the existence of the Flipside, and that, as per the time KV was cancelled, they never made it out of there, what do you think would have become of their "story" by now, 27 years later? Would they just be presumed dead? Woul...d their legend just grow over the decades, and would there be many E!THS's and such based on the mystery? What?

  • old memmory -- good old memmory

  • Wow...haven't seen this since the 80s...talk about a flashback!!! Thank you so much for posting...brings you right back and then some. Definitely was a helluva time to be a kid. :)

  • Ahh, what memories! Glad I was a Gen X'er. Growing up in the 80's. Deffintely an 80's cartoon. Note the fairy who rescued them was wearing leg warmers. LEG WARMERS! A FAIRY wearing LEG WARMERS!! Just what kind of fairy wears leg warmers?! LOL. Well, I also miss Punky Brewster, Shirt tails, and Saturday Supercade!

  • @Timbrock1000

    Answer: Richard Simmons. ;)

  • @Timbrock1000 A fairy in leg warmers sounds strange until you account that she lived in a land talking rock n roll playing cats, immortal teenagers made out of neon lights, a rapping sphinx, and flying jukeboxes that doubled as battled ships. Then it makes perfect sense. Well not really. Unless maybe you're Jack Black.

  • Holy crap, I couldn't remember the name of this show for the life of me! I'm so glad I found this FINALLY.

  • Best quality video, and the cartoon was ok too. The memories are all coming back to me.

  • God bless youtube and whoever posted this. I've been looking for it for twenty six years. What a cure for a bad day.

  • omfg

  • awesome. one of the hottest cartoon chicks ever! this is memory lane right here...

  • It's the 80-est cartoon ever!

  • I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!

  • Excellent cartoon! It is the essence of the 1980's, when we still had great cars, real fast food, awesome music, and fantastic Saturday morning cartoons!

  • @Dragonrider3458 very true saturday cartoons were the best. kidd video, real ghostbusters, gummi bears, muppet babies, pond puppies, smurfs, i can go on and on. loved kidd video, had the biggest crush on carla. lol

  • @Dragonrider3458 so agreed

  • @Dragonrider3458 hope all is well. I loved this show... but i can't remember if after dferating the master blaster if thy ever got home.

  • @Mollierebecca They never defeated Master Blaster for good and never got home (Although at least one of them did briefly before coming back to the Flip Side.).

  • @Dragonrider3458 Truly the last great decade.

  • I remember watching this show in the 80s, sitting in front of the TV with my brother while eating the marshmallows out of a box of Lucky Charms.

    Ah, memories.

  • This is the best quality video of the Kidd Video intro on youtube. It is synced, is pretty clear and the audio is perfect. Thanks!

  • I have to agree completely. Great sound quality especially.

  • 0:42

    0_o

  • I always wanted those gibson insturments especially the explorer Bryan Scott is playing. I have the album on CD and the songs hold up 25 years later, Shuki Levy wrote great songs for Kidd Video.

  • This cartoon sucked but I found myself watching it every Saturday!

  • Comment removed

  • It's true the cartoon sucked but the intro was awsome for some reason.

  • This show was so lame but the girl drummer was soooo fine. I was in love with her so bad back then....ahh to be 13 again.

  • OMG, I love this cartoon. Great memories! Most cartoons today are garbage.

  • this cartoon series was the bomb, they always put a real famous 80s video in the middle of the show (ex: yes, the bangles, duran duran or some other 80s band)

  • :48 On no, it's the POINTY-HAIRED BOSS!!

Seriously, when I was a kid, my little cousin was afraid that some mean old guy was gonna come through his mirror and kidnap him.

  • legwarmers.....epic.

  • great show :) btw, anyone remember a show about a teen drivin a red sports car into some sort of lab type place and as a result merging with the car and turning into it when he got hot?

  • It was a cartoon called Turbo Teen.

  • thanks

  • That was one trippy cartoon. All those surreal landscapes and creatures of the Flipside...

  • Perfect 80s song.

  • Does anyone know a cartoon/anime show about a kid(male) that got sucked into an arcade machine video game into some other dimension because the people from that place thought he was a type of pro car racer?

  • i think your talking about captain N and the game master and it was the world of nintendo thats my guess from what it sounds like.

  • I not sure I'll ask.

  • It's amazing, was my fav cartoon here in Lima (Perú). GOOD TIMES!

  • This was definitely my fav cartoon of the 80s. Watching clips of it now, I see how surreal it is and STILL love it. Bwahahahha!

  • what memories. when i think of waking up on saturday mornings with my big bowl of count chocula cereal on those chilly mornings. KV is one of the main cartoons i remember. It was awesome, they could really sing. And i was madly in LOVE with Carla, i was 7 years old.

  • Saturday mornings made you proud to be young man. The rest of the world was going down, but saturday morning cartoons held the fort, man I loved it.

  • OMG I loved Kidd..he was so hot...

  • me too!!! I wanted him and Carla to get together!

  • il migliore degli anni 80!

  • I was born in '80... I loved this show as a kid. I'd love to find it on dvd.

  • My absolute favorite cartoon of my childhood. This was truly the golden age of Saturday morning cartoons. Kids now just don't realize.

  • This is my favorite cartoon, too. Here in Guayaquil, it was broadcasted in 1990, on Channel 10, every Saturday at 9 AM

  • Anyone ever pick up on how well this show inadvertently depicts the current state of the music industry? You have the evil corporate CEO guy with the Type O Negative voice enslaving the band (i.e. major labels holding naive musicians hostage through bogus contractual obligations), while the Copy Cats reap the benefits and go destroy the airwaves. Truly brilliant, and also way ahead of its time you know? The best Sat. morning cartoon we will never see on DVD (copyright issues I assume...).

  • holy shit! i was talking to friends about this show with a band who go into another world and they never remembered it. and i found it! whoo! XD

  • Sad to admit it, but this was one of my fav shows growing up. Im 37 now but this takes me back instantly! Would gladly pay 20.00 to 30.00 bucks for a two season box set of cheesy goodness!!

And if anybody really has all the eps on vhs then why not convert them and share?? spread the love of big hair around.

  • Lol, I'm 23 and this takes me back to when I was like 3! Wow... It's hard to believe this show came out 25 years ago... good times!

  • Navi had a very varried and colorful career before she met link.

  • OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!! THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVORITE MEMORY OF THE 80'S I used to get up every saturday just to see this one show and i wish they would put this on DVD

  • en peru en el 88 los sabados k bacan este dibujo no me lo perdia... saludos from peru

  • I'm 25 and almost forgot the show, never knew the name!

I remember the old yellow Subaru Brat!

Damn you why couldnt I be born in 1980 instead of 83?

  • considering it came out 25 years ago,I could see why you'd forget.

  • I think the part of this that everyone knows and can quote is "Yi Yi Yi, we look like..." "cartoons"

Ah, 80s racial insensitivity in cartoons.

Still dug this show as a kid

  • i was addicted to this show as a kid
