Ok...wow...I recently read this story and it haunts me to this day. It's really disgusting and it was such a horrible thing for Billy to do, he deserves to die for it. I just want everyone who watches this to know that if they read the book, the book is unrealistic because no amount of explaination can calm someone who has been raped. Kurt was writing about things he did not understand.
Vonnegut is a satirist. He was satirizing the idea that we humans in todays society ignore and dread our inner animalistic thoughts and feelings. Sex is something that is very taboo in our society, even though it is one of the vital acts that humans our on this planet for. Billy's raping of Nancy was necessary only because of her complete ignorance of ideals of sex. She obviously will eventually learn to give in to her natural feelings and desires as we all should.
