Wow--I remember hearing this song back about 1992 and I really loved it becaue it sounded so much like an old Burt Bacarach-Hal David song from the '60's, like the type/style they wrote for Dionne Warwick. I have to admit I was surprised that it never quite became the hit it should have been, for whatever the reason. I wouldn't mind tracking down the CD just for this song alone, though.
This is probably one of the most underrated albums ever made. Every song in this CD is a gem. I think it's even better than her "Move To This" album, but yet her "Into The Skyline" album didn't really take off and it's a tragedy that most missed out on all the great songs including "Moment Of Love".
I know she's busy writing songs for other popular artists but I wish she would make another album. Thanks for posting :)
0:01-0:48(intro)..Someone you loved is walking and singing this on the beach at sundown..0:49..The camera zooms in on her eye..straight through the iris.. then images appear..1st kiss, laugh, touch or maybe dance..1:22 zooms out back to reality with a tear rolling down..This is how i visualize this song and
why it is very special to me. Thank you Cathy and aerosene
i love this song and i could hear it so many times i just love this song so much its great to hear in the night when you're dreaming and Cathy's voice is so beautiful and soft and i love it the melody is so calm and really beautiful and brings back so many happy memories of the 90's i loved Cathy Dennis she was so talented and beautiful and i miss her i wish i could go back to the 90's i miss it so much the 90's was very special and timeless
SENIOR PROM 90210 - I WISH IT WAS THOSE DAYS AGAIN!!! TO BE TEENAGER AGAIN I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO REAL LIVE MY CHILDHOOD/TEENAGE YEARS MANY GOOD MEMORIES!!!!
@lizzy3280 That episode is exactly what I think of when I hear this song. I was looking for someones's comment related to that episode. Brings back memories!
It is one of the most heart breaking, yet, beatiful songs I have ever heard sung. No one could have ever sang this tear dropper but Cathy. Can't get any more seriuos about love songs than this one. Just a pretty, pretty song-the kind that Angels are unable to sing or write-because they've never known romantic love or heart break. Gorgeous tune by a gorgeous woman.
Someone please tell me how this did on the charts! I loved this song, very nice. Showed the world that Cathy was more than just dance/pop. Almost has a little roaring 20s feel or something to it.
I heard this song on an old episode of 'Beverly Hills 90210' today and it brought back many fond memories. This is a great song, beautiful lyrics, voice and music, all in 1.
I am a heavy metal listener . . . even so, I will never know why this gem did not shoot to the top of the charts. Cathy Dennis is amazing, and it's a shame she kind of disappeared after 3 albums, as I certainly think she still had a lot to offer the music world. This song makes me wish I was slow dancing with a beauty on a tropical beach at dusk.
@Melidian1 she didnt really disappear. she was the one who wrote Toxic (by Britney Spears), Cant get you out of my head (Kylie) and I kissed A Girl (katy Perry) among others. And she's won a couple of grammy's by being the genius behind some of today's popular songs :) She's such a talented artist.
I think music peaked in the '90s. it was the moment the lush arrengements, honest lyrics & commercial potential all walked hand-in-hand. of course, music had thoroughly been great through the previous decades, with Motown & the '60s/'70s confessional folk & classic rock, but in the '90s, after the extravaganza of the '80s, music seemed to finally have found the balance between its extremes in a way that was accessible to all hearts & ears. SO SAD it's all gone downhill since:(
This is truly a timeless gem, and it's a shame that music like this is still overlooked. Beyonce or Lady Gaga could never match this much emotion, class, and beauty.
@ Joesire: Everyone should have at least one moment like that. Three years later it still feels like yesterday. You never forget. Who says you can't change your world for the better in an instant?
Its those memories of brief romances that make the best bitter sweet memories. I talk with a German girl in a national park for hours. She was the sweetest girl I'd ever met. She left the next day for home. i'm glad that I have a picture of us toghter.
@cutless74 Hey...the pic might help to find her! Do you know at least her first name or her home town? If yes, did you ever try to find her on the internet or something (fcbk etc.)? Here in germany (!) we have a TV show that helps people to find long missed friends, family members etc. and I guess it's worth a try. If you are interested I can give you the contact e-mail address of that show (just searched for it).
Always one of my favorites. Such a great voice, and beautifully arranged, Great collaboration :) Listen to how the piano chords always hesitate to resolve :)
Funny you would ask, Sapphire. Blue is my favorite colour and sapphire is my birthstone. I hope you and all who hear this song seperience true love and happiness in your life.
I am Josephiner, and no, I did not cheat on my wife. The woman was a long, lost love. She was without a doubt the love of my life who rediscovered me on the internet. The Denver trip was a poignant moment where two people were left vulnerable, and yet alive in a way only those truly in love understand. This song was part of a moment that will last in my life forever.
My G*d this takes me back....this son was popular just before my fiance was killed in a car accident. I remember singing to it when I was in the shower, thinking of how haunting the melody and sad the words were....I never new how closely I would relate to the song.
All I can think of when I hear this song now is the the time I danced with a beautiful woman in a hotel room in Denver with this song playing in the background. "time...may not...be ours..." I'll always remember.
When I first heard this song on the radio, it reminded me so much of this girl I used to know. I was really down at the time, driving in my car and I just had to stop. I love this song.
well! at least i'm not the only one with this feelings.. it's incredible how you feel when you listen a song that really stop you, adn your heart running too fast. few songs make me feel that.. regards from argentina!!
i saw her the first time on 90210 in the 90´s...and now i just found out that she wrote hits like i kissed a girl, toxic and now for aguileras new album...not bad!
It's got an "old" jazz big band sound to it, which always made this song stand out to me. It's very unlike all the fast dance songs Cathy is/was known for.
I spended a long time tryng to find out who was the singer and what was the name of this song. My english had to improve till the moment when I was able to understand the lirics and put some words in youtube. Then I found out that Cathy was the singer and moments of love was the song. For my surprise it was a song from Bervely hills 90210, ten yers ago. How could I mist this song. She is so beautiful. Chistiane! I offer you this song as a memory of the feeling I had to you!
GoinCreekin, I remember it on DMX as well. I kind of miss DMX; the music on cable/and satellite now just isn't the same. I could not get this song out of my head then, and I still cannot. Brings back great memories for me of when I was dating my wife.
This is pretty much the perfect song that you never forget. The background music is very subtle, the high notes of the chimes accent the bass to perfection, and the voice is very expressive.
