I've got to echo all the great comments here. I've been watching ereplacementparts*com how-to videos for months and they just keep getting better and better. You guys really know how to hit the subjects that matter. And Mark, you are seriously the man! Drywall guns, dado sets, 2-stroke trimmers, pressure washers, vacuums, kitchenaid mixers . . . what can't you do? Respect to you guys!
@microbiallife Thanks for all the praise! We have a small team that works very hard to produce quality videos on subjects that we hope will be helpful. We appreciate you watching and taking the time to write.
@eReplacementParts Do you have any info on Ridgid miter saws? My blade brake doesn't work anymore and the manual has no info on repairing it. Thanks, great video..
@irish89055 A miter saw brake is actually made up of several components, the switch, the motor field and the brushes. When you release the switch it allows current to pass to the brake coil in the field. When the brake coil is energized it creates a reverse magnetic field around the armature which stops the blade. Most brake issues seem to be related to the switch. If not the switch then it will be the brushes or the field, most likely in that order.
Thanks Mark for the video..... I don't have this particular miter saw, but it has made me much more aware about adjusting a saw into proper/correct alignment.... That's why most people have a fit with their saw, cause it's not aligned properly.... Love this channel
Another great video , dinosaurs or not ! LOL I had to laugh at that comment.
Keep up the good work : )

Thank you so much for demonstrating this.
I just started a project only to find my mitered corners aren't perfect.
Now I know HOW and WHAT to check and fix to fix this issue for my next project.

iownslaves 1 year ago
@iownslaves take a look at 2:12 on the video. We begin the squaring of the fence at that point.
Thanks!
