I think anyone with half a brain knows that he meant that people wanted Canada IN PARTICULAR to lose, that is, more than other opposing teams in the tournament. It was a very valid point.

look at Gretzky's shoulder pads at 7:29. there's barely anything there. lol. Messier or a hard hitter are probably loaded with armor, but gretzky looks like he's wearing roller skating elbow pads.

he's putting on shoulder pads for the heritage classic game. i assume he wore heavier padding when he played real nhl games. the heritage classic was just for fun.

i seriously doubt it. did u ever see gretz throw a body check? no, so why would he need shoulder pads.he wore the absolute minimum for increased mobility.
