It really was amusing when I figured I never need to draw my sword in a town. All you need to do is get on top of a sufficiently high building, and then as the guards climb the ladder they'll find, throw them off. I think I managed to get 19 in a row with that trick.

And the combat is indeed not 1-1. Generally they try to "surprise" you, but later in the game they'll even finish eachother's combos. (Such as one parrying your attack, another slicing at you, and a third punching you). *shrug

Is there a crossbow on this game? On the trailer, the bit when you see him at the bell tower (you know, when it swings and then he's gone) there is clearly a crossbow on his back, I am on mem. block 5 and I havn't unlocked it yet

Good eyes, but no, no crossbow... that would have been cool.

There are throwing knives though (I'm sure you've used those by now) that can be pretty fun to use.

You should try throwing guys off the roof of the cathedral in Acre it's really fun!

Some of the guards just stand there being pretty..

And just do nothing..

It's actually by-design, because you can only interact with/fight 1 person at a time, if they were ALL attacking you at the same time you've never be able to get past a single fight.

The AI really kicks in when you try and run away, they get pretty smart in finding you.

You know what I hate? When you throw a guard of a tall ass building, and he falls straight intio the haystack. I had the hardest time once, fighting like 20 guards on this bigass building, and they like tried to throw me down and shit, and when there was ONE freakin' guy left i threw him down..and straight into the fucking haystack. alerting 10 more guards. who threw me down. and killed me. damn. Still, awesome game.

Haha, I didn't even know you could *do* that... so when you toss them into haystack they do the leap of faith and just crawl out of the stack and come back up?

They don't do the leap of faith, they just fall down into it just like when u throw 'em down on the ground from a building. It's really annoying really:P you could try it out xD

lol all i ever do is piss guards off, then when they chase me i climb up to a high ledge then throw them off - its awesome!

God I wish I had known about that earlier through the game when I was playing. It wasn't until about 3/4 of the way through that I even realized I could stand at the top of a ladder and just wail on them on their way up or throw them off... that was hilarious.

Thanks. I wanted to do a better job at fighting and I *really* wanted to get one of the "kick to the stomach" animations to play with one of the guys standing on the ledge... so it looked like I kicked him off the ledge... no luck though :(
