9 cards were plus because there are no 7,8,9 visible. Two cards, A & Q are visible. And remember the dealers whole card is tucked and blinded. So there are 11 cards visible two of which are negative 1 (-1) therefore your ct. is +7. This means that big cards with a negative value (-1) are going to be appearing soon! Bet now at approx. 3.5 chips so make it four...You'll understand now...Happy Holiday's!
Here's what you need to know. Because the 2 thru 6 are equal in value to plus 1, the more 2,3,4,5,6's that happen upon the table, the higher plus count you will have. Five people and one dealer. You are counting them by adding and subtracting basic math. If 12 cards are on the table and you see eleven of them, it's because one of the cards is blinded as a whole card for the dealer. Only an A & Q are visible among two different people, +7 is ct.
The thing to keep in mind is this: I am calling out each of the cards value through this count process, thereby once the deck of cards reaches its last card, and the count is zero, the count is perfect. Consequently, when Zero's are called along with +1 and -1 card values, it may seem to confuse some people.
First of all, while at a -5 count, you could not get to a 0 count, unless of course five +1 cards (2,3,4,5,6) were to follow. Therefore, to answer your question, if you have a -5 count, and a 7 were to follow, your count remains -5, as the 7, 8, 9 have a zero value.
Here again, very observant you are, but mistaken. I am calling out the zeros, which are 7, 8, and 9, but keeping the count at the same time. So don't be mislead when the 6 turns up and I call out that it has brought the count to zero.
hey no sweat at all man. i understand that you were concerned, and i'm glad you have asked about this. this way others who are curious can be set right if they scroll and read the posts. good luck on all your card counting endeavors.

If you get to a 0 whilst at a count of...-5 for example, and you pull a 7, would the count go to 0, or would it remain at -5?

1. at 0:44 you counted 8 as +1
2. and at 0:47 you counted 6 as 0
