do you have an inverted oil system on that engine? if so can you please post who makes it- we have an S-10 and looking for invert4ed oil system for the Rotax.
@alex0157b sorry for the delay but yeah if youre planning to do acrobatics and crazy stuff up in the air you better modify the lubrication and fuel injection system..i'll send you more details thru email.
my friend that has the S-10 in Europe is going to go with a Rotax 795- it is a 140 hp 2 stroke, so I will hope that as long as it has inverted fuel pickup, the fuel/oil mix should be ok for inverted- please let me know if you don't think it will work for some reason though!
ooh yeah, not a problem you could even go a bit over the VNE.
About your second question i have no idea but i'll send you a website that belong to the real experts on S9 engineering stuff.. those guys are really good
wow that's pretty cool. I plan on building an s9 in the near future but I wanted something that was reliable and did not have the low TBO of the 2 stroke rotax 503 and 582. Originally I was thinking Jabiru 2200 but they don't recommend inverted oil and fuel systems, so then I looked at the Hirth F30 as it is 100hp but still 2-stroke.
What is your average fuel burn with the 912?
Do you think it would be possible to fly with the 914?
I think the 914 it would work great! Rotax is the way to go. But if you ask me, id choose the 912 over the 914, with 100 hp youll be able to do eeeverything you want and with 1,500 TBO..you know..thats always a plus. The only thing that you would have to think about is that 2 stroke engines are built for inverted flights, but the 4 stroke engines arent. So if youre planning to see the world up side down you must invest also modifying the lubrication and fuel injection system
a bit bigger engine compartment, well we just changed the engine cowl but we had to modify the entire lubrication and fuel injection system for the inverted fligh..it works great!

Buena performance la que se manda. Aunque el video es muy corto como para apreciarlo en su plenitud.
¿A que fecha corresponde esta presentación?

Sorry for so many questions, but what is your fastest rate of climb with 100hp?
The website is really cool, but I need to brush up on my Spanish :)
velophile 3 years ago
the rate of climb its about 1,500 - 1,700 ft/min but if you go to rotax's website you'll find all the info you're looking for.

That's not bad at all. Do you find it easy to approach VNE or is it not really an issue? Oh and can you use a constant speed prop?
Do you have a website with more details on your building?
Thanks for the info :)

Oh and average fuel burn..weve never calculated that but Id say 5.3 gal/hr doing acrobatics
good luck!

wow how did you get the 100hp rotax engine into the plane?
