i have a question that may be easy to answer for someone. When jimmy plays the solo at the end, who is playing the chords behind him? Do they just track that before and press play or what?
@Okesupinus ...that would be Led Zeps backing guitar player, Jonny Kumpantz. He did all the guitar playing whilst Jimmy was doing the solos. He never really got the attention he deserved and he spent all his time just behind Jimmys Marshall amp on tour, and out of sight from the crowd. Shocking treatment really to a great guitar player.

No, not sure...but it sounds like it could be. This isn't a studio recording either. It's a tape player stuck in the middle of the room, so that's why I believe it is recorded simultaneously and thus necessarily Plant playing.

He died from an unknown stomach virus in 1977 I believe. Plant was very discouraged because the only one of the band members that joined him at his sons funeral was John Bonham. Jimmy and John Paul Jones stayed in the states (they had to cancel their US tour), and Plant said something about them 'not being the friends I thought their were'. Something like that.
I read it in a book called Led Zeppelin a band and their music I believe, but you can read more details in Wikipedia I'm sure. Yeah 1977 was a bad time for Led Zeppelin

Really touching to see Plant with his son.I suppose one never gets over the death of ones child...I really admire Robert's strength.He'll meet with Karac again,on that stairway to heaven.God bless them.

By the way, for all you people that will watch this and say something about it being a satanist song, several of these stairway bootlegs prove that it isnt. The lyrics of the studio version sound similar to those satanic messages, but these recordings (Which contained the lyrics before they were re-arranged and changed etc) when played backwards would not sound like there were satanic messages. Theres your proof.

He died from an unknown stomach virus in 1977 I believe. Plant was very discouraged because the only one of the band members that joined him at his sons funeral was John Bonham. Jimmy and John Paul Jones stayed in the states (they had to cancel their US tour), and Plant said something about them 'not being the friends I thought their were'. Something like that.

I read it in a book called Led Zeppelin a band and their music I believe, but you can read more details in Wikipedia I'm sure. Yeah 1977 was a bad time for Led Zeppelin
