Just added a link in the description, the program is called Fraps. A license will run you thirty seven bucks, but it's worth it if you do this kind of thing regularly. I'm not sure how other programs (HyperCam, for example) stack up to it, so you might try out some demos first.
Yeah, I missed a few of the blocks in there. Some I misjudged the timing, others I was just too nervous to shoot for since I was going for the Stealth bonus. It adds thirty percent of your base score to your total, so letting a few slip by can be worth it.
That could be due to the song you're playing; when the music is calm, you'll be moving uphill and the blocks will be cooler in color. From calmest to most intense, the colors are purple, blue, green, yellow and red. They can be customized in the options window, if you want, but those are the defaults.
Wow this is a really cool game. I actually just came to this video wanting to listen to this song, but now I want to donwload this game (too bad I don't have itunes and napster doesn't have milk crisis, the idiots).
hey,i got another thing to say 1.i subbed :P 2.you are the ture best audio surfer, and great choice of song!i really like this song by the go! team. by the way,how many cars are there?i haven't played this game before, only seen videos. i'm downloading it soon though, and one more thing. can you ake the music from the website? like, for instance, if i go to a website, but i don't have itunes, can i play it from that, like include the URL or something? thanks ~themayor787~
There are several ways to play, only one of which I'm any good at. These "mono" characters are all about reaction time; you grab the colored blocks and avoid the grey ones. The other styles are very different, and involve many colors at the same time. Arranging them in your collection grid to make the best matches, and highest scores, possible.
As for formats, while the game supports MP3, WMA, Ogg, flac and M4A files, or music from CDs, there is no URL entry option.
I've played the other characters, but I have the most fun with mono; my brain doesn't seem to work fast enough for anything else.
Pointman, Pusher, Eraser, I get too wrapped up in the puzzle aspect of the game and can't enjoy the ride. High scores are nice, but I'd rather just listen to the music and jump back and forth between lanes. People who can handle those modes continue to amaze me.
It's nice to know I have options, though, if I ever get tired of playing this way.
Yep! Play whatever you want. The track is analyzed when it's first loaded, and the highway is shaped based on the sound of the song. It gets steeper during intense portions (fast guitar playing, for example), then goes uphill when things calm down. The type of music you play determines the difficulty of the experience; if you want to just relax, load some relaxing music, problem solved.
Give me just a minute, and I'll add a link to the game's website in the description for each video.
You know, as far as spasms go, those are the best kind. You're very lucky.
The game is called Audiosurf, and though we're not allowed to post URLs in comments, you can find everything you need to know by Googling the name. It's only ten bucks, and there's a demo available to try out.

How about you try Star Guitar by Chemical Brothers? I hear it's quite hard.

Thank you, I do my best. Haven't played Star Guitar yet, but I'm sure I'll get to it sooner or later. Thanks for the tip!

I've played star guitar, but it was the Shinichi Osawa version. The Shinichi Osawa version is more livelier, but I like both
