If u thinking bout getting one hey do it this thing is nice its a poor man ken smith when I play mine everyone think thats what im playing till they see it when they just hear it they always guess ken smith I have the L2500 tribute
hell yeah dude, I have the L- 2000 and it is maybe one of the best basses I have handled. I have one of the Tribute series one, They were better rated than the usa models:)
A bit of slap is okay, but fingerstyle shows the tone of the bass a lot more. If you're demoing a bass it's a good idea just to play fingerstyle, slap, and picking.
maybe he has a crappy amp, but that bridge does not look like the one on the American made or even the Tribute series...that looks like more of a p-bass bridge
if you look closely on the center of the bridge you will see the G&L emblem. its the glare that makes the bridge look different, and at a glance you are right it kinda does look like a fender standard bridge
I think its USA made. The bursts are different between the USA and Tribute. The edges have more black on the USA's. Also, it's going to resemble Fenders.....Leo crafted it after all.
I love mine. Its a late 90's fretless. Oh the tones you can get out of these.....mmm mmm mmm tasty.
That bass sounds like shit to me, really no character! Flat and empty, no soul attached to it. G&L is something in between a bad MusicMan and a bad Fender Precision. And the played notes on the G string are out-of-balance in volume!! Maybe it's your technique? AND PUT UR STRINGS HIGHER! The whole thing gets a lot less SHITTY then, lazy PIG! Look for a good teacher too! Your bass is too shiny, you noticed? Buy a better one goddamn! FODERA. Who are you little man? I'M A MEGA-BASSPLAYER!!!
i'm pretty picky when it comes to a five string bass(i'm stuck in the 35 inch scale mentality), so i was wondering what is your opinion with your L-5000...how's the tension with the b string? i love the sound of G&Ls, but i'd hate to have a floppy b string...
I just got a GL L2500, black, and after an hour, it pops like a good active Ibanez, and switches to old school Fender P passive. Great deal for the bux, run through Crate 15 practice, SWR 15 IN working man combo and the main gun, Ampeg 4x10 with head, it's sweet. Get G&L
I like it. I have a G&L L2500 which I play into a Gallien Krueger MBX with the extension cab and it puts out a pretty good sound. I really love my G&L guitars.
Hi, im thinking about getting a roland cube 100 with my fender jazz, and i was jsut wondering... are they any good? Ive heard a few of the sounds but not all of them. cheers
I like G&L 4 string basses. The fives have narrower string spacing which I don't like.

I played one the other day, MAN that neck is thick.
remoman 2 years ago
it's massive ain't it. I would have bought this bass if it wasn't for that half a tree truck neck profile.

I appreciate that you didn't do any slap. Every video I watch try to see how a bass sounds is douches slapping non-stop.
Thanks. Sounds good by the way.

That's because people who slap want to hear the slap tone xD

Great sound...almost fretless growl at times....your plucking by the bridge helps this.
I am curious also...is this a Tribute or USA manufactured L-2500? Also, what tonal settings were you using?
Thanks.

It is an USA manufactured.
Bridge pickup paralel.
