This looks pretty amazing. It seems to solve a lot of the complaints I heard on the Ubuntu forums, such as people complaining about having to drag tracks over a huge wide widget area. I like it just from the standpoint that it allows you to choose between the 2.x look and the 1.4 look/functionality. And more choices and configuration options are always better.
At least this prototype has been "massively" accepted by everybody that readed the amarok blog (except 1 person :P )
I hope that this feature become acepted by the rest of developers... I would like move some parts of the interface like "mix" the widget column with the left column like in the video ( 1:06 ) :D
pleeease include this and an option to save and select a layout :D :) :)

I wouldn't find anything wrong in implementing this in a public version, even if it's primarily intended as a test mode for developers.
Great steps ahead with the rendering of the context view by the way, much better than the version I have installed (2.1 beta1 in Jaunty).

Amazing! :D Configuring layout will make users happy :D This is for 2.2, right?

Currently it is not planned for inclusion in any version. It will be debated among the developers in the near future though.

Finally, Amarok2 could be VERY costumizable.
