who out there was at bull dog bash about 1992/3 watching this band with me. This band live was red hot.
very underrated just some much good shit out in them days they had little chance but let me tell you i also guns and roses at main road manchester and this lot blow them way. I have to admitt they did not touch matallic but respect to them all
i guess the sixtys for mum and dad and the nintys for me
Despite the group's chart success, they had problems maintaining a popular image, due in part to their heavily tattooed membership. They remained with Geffen for a sophomore release, Influence in 1992, but neither Rock nor Kalodner continued working with them. By this time, guitarist Apache had left and was replaced with Earl Slick. After Influence failed to sell, the group disbanded. Ron Young later went on to sing in The Four Horsemen, Manic Eden, and Dirt.
The band was founded late in the 1980s by Ron Young, who had previously worked as a nightclub bouncer.[1] The group independently released an EP which led to their signing with Geffen Records in 1989. John Kalodner did A&R work for the group, and Bob Rock produced their debut self-titled album, which was released in 1990 to positive reviews.[1] On the strength of the singles "Chain of Fools" and "In Your Arms", Little Caesar hit number 139 on the US Billboard 200 in 1990
I remember buying the cassette of this when it came out and wore it out. The tape even broke playing this song. It's Areatha's song, but these guys made it rock!
I'm 52 and this CD is still in rotation. My kids even have copies. You just have to love a band that thanks their tatoo parlor in their liner notes. On a side note, the lead singer, Ron Young, was in the very beginning of T2. He was the pool player.
the band never broke up. geffen fucked them much like he did neil young, they are back stronger than ever new cd is out as mp3 on amazon but european hard copy comming soon, the new cd is called redemption check it out!
@whitemusiclover Geffen Records, MTV, corporate radio and most of the world weren't ready for Little Caesar in 1989. If people got to hear this music it would have taken off.
Geffen did screw up Neil Young's career. His Geffen era was the low point in his career. Maybe Neil had something to do with it. It seemed during the '80s every Neil album was a totally different style and it wasn't sincere.
I don't know about 'definitive', but until I heard this version, I had very little use for this song; I think it helped me appreciate the original better. Van Halen's version of "Dancin' In The Streets" does the same thing...PEACE.
Yes, the lead singer Frank Starr was hit by a drunk driver while on his motorcycle on Sunset Strip. He went into a coma with severe head injuries in Nov.1995. In 1996 the band went on tour with Ron Young as the replacement singer.Frank Starr passed away June 18,1999 and the band broke up.
The original line-up was as in this video,Ron Young (vocals),Apache(lead),Louren Molinare(rhythm),Fidel Paniagua(bass),Tom Morris (drums):the backing vocals were provided by Cecile LaRochelle,Dee Daniels and Lovena Fox.This is off the original cassette tape from 1990.Just so everybody gets their due, these tracks were laid down by those members, not Earl Slick!
Loved the entire vibe of this band as well. Earl Slicks guitar work was stellar. Nobody and I mean no-body has pulled off a version like this better than these guys did.
Yes it's good, I came in on the band pre-Earl when Apache )the man shown here at lead) was the guitarist.I really loved everything they did than!Fidel Paniagua on bass was my favorite....headbanging Chicano!
Thank you for putting this on!!! I loved these guys !! I saw them at the Newport here in Ohio and they kicked ass. Too bad I missed them when they played Sturgis. And the lead singer is so hot!!! ( yes this is a girl talking ) .
