  • I solved the camshaft and ignition timing issue for good by replacing the bevel gears with special ordered nylon ones and drilling the camshaft for a 4-10 threaded rod to stiffen it at the rear. Then I tapped the front of the camshaft and bolted it to the front of the engine and added a steel shaft to the distributor. Pics and video by request. I also donated this info to stunnuts@aol.com who sells VV8 kits, parts and mods.

  • put oil in the crank case and see if it lubes everything! Then it should run smooth :)

  • hey mate im thinking of buying one of these because i want to learn about engines does it teach you alot about how they work in a real car and does it come with that thing that makes it run on its own or did you make that?

  • where did you got that engine to power the v8

  • Can you use/run it if you put it in a model car type of thing?

  • Nice engine, Great idea to put an electric motor on it to give it a spin.

There is a You Tube video that has a Visible V8 running at 5000 RPM.

Do you plan to run your engine at 5000 RPM also?

BTW, I think your starter is mounted upside down, but still I like your set up.

  • were do i get these at i want one!!really bad plz hlep me i want one

  • do the cylinders have any compression?

  • @superfunnyman123 Absolutely not. There is a LOT of clearance in the parts of this engine model - there's about .5-1mm clearance between the pistons and the cylinder walls. Even more in the crankshaft bearings.

  • valve in cylindr 1 isnt working right

  • @crazytacostudios Due to the amount of "shrouding" of the valves, it's easy for them to get stuck. Intakes are really bad on this, but usually can be unstuck with a pair of needlenose.

  • After several weeks of building his V8 Engine little Billy was too excited and pre-ran the thing.. Not considering the fact that during the build he had forgotten to add OIL to the Engine.. lol - Cool Model! -Rob

  • That was a great idea connecting the drive motor. I had a 60's V8 that ran off a little motor inside the starter housing. It also had red bulbs on the spark plug tips that were fired from contacts inside the distributor. Do you think the new model could be adapted to lite tiny bulbs. Let me rephrase, does the distributer have a rotor that turns?

  • this is really cool!!i as actually thinking of buying this but the motor, how does it run?do u hav instrucions for constructing dat??

  • very nice job, gonna be building one soon, and this just makes me want to start sooner, killer job with the motorized system.

  • i cant get the push rods to work right can u help me?

  • are they lining up correctly with the camshaft as well as the rockers? my biggest issue with the model was sanding all the part so they would fit correctly and line up as they should.

  • @stanglvr is it possible to modify the cam on this to make it run on an air compressor?

  • @stanglvr did this come with instructions

  • @supermario513 the hardest thing about making a model like this is getting the push rods to work with the camshaft and also to set the timing right
