mind cannot comprehend why any final fantasy game 1-10 can suck, all are amazing in their own way, haven't played 12 yet and i tried 13, but i couldn't get into the game due to the system it ran. it seems nearly impossible to compare one ff game to another due to changes from each one. they are all meant to be a different experience but one thing that has been consistently good in FF until now in my opinion is the story and quality of game-play one gets.

@victotvondoom It's really startin to piss me off how everyone bashes on FF 13. You know what the real problem is? People always complain that games were better back then, but that isn't it. What the real issue is that no one appreciates video games like we used to. Now, we've become way too good at pointing out flaws and tiny imperfections that were way more apparent in older games anyway. I remember the first time I encountered ultimecia my char's where GF dependable and it took me nearly an hour to beat her AN HOUR!!! ! was only 13 years old, but then i restarted the whole game and got ultima weapon and everyone else's weapons with max stats, I FRIGGIN RAPED HERE WITH LIMIT BREAKS!!! finished the battle in 15 minutes flat "because of the damn sequences of her mutation took long" so it could have been in less than 10 mins.

I think FF8 focused on limited breaks and GF's which made it so different and action packed to me :) I don't think a lot of people figured that out. I could see them using magic and normal attacks the entire game and saying "this sucks man" FF8 seemed like the most action packed game to and it is my favorite FF, especially with this epic music!

Ultimecia, when you learn all the story about her plan, Hyne story and how to use humans to get her revenge is a really good villain. Btw, a game in which the villain is only knew at the 3rd CD reveals his dangerosity. (Sorry for my english, i'm not a common user of Shakespear's language)

@MSAnemanja2 Final Fantasy I, Garland doesn't return as Chaos til the very end of the game and is not even referred to after you beat him (for the most part).

Final Fantasy IV, Zemus was the true final boss, and you didn't actually see him til the VERY end of the game.

Final Fantasy IX, Necron just pops up out of nowhere, though he IS hinted at by Garland, and many others, but never given a name or description.

Ultimecia just doesn't appear in physical form til the end. Loved FF8.

But if you take what Drpissed said into consideration, ultimecia is the one who keeps resetting, and it is her world that keeps repeating itself. When I first played through FF8, I loved the game and the final battle (Greatest video game song of all time!) but was so confused as to who the hell Ultimecia was. She was just so random. But when I started thinking along the lines that maybe Rinoa was Ultimecia somewhere down the road in the future.. it all hit me. It made the final battle THAT much more epic. I had to replay the game all the way through again.

When Rinoa dies unexpectedly, gifts her daughter the Griever Ring and the sorceress powers, which makes her unlock Griever and of course, GF makes her forget her past properly, and the daughter Ultimecia blames Squall and then, over time, all other SeeD for her death, and gets raised by Doctor Odine. Hence the crappy accent, and of course Odine made that machine.

Thats what I think anyway.
