@Dave308439 Hard to explain, and I don't understand everything either, but its about a guy with arab origins and in France they kind of don't like arabs, so they are pretty racist to him even when if he is French. So he talks about the everyday life for an arab in france. le quotidien is like 'the everyday'. In the chorus he says do you want me to tell you about the everyday arab when he is 20 years old?
wow thanks for all the comments and translation i was on my boyfriends account adamski i dont speak french but i will learn it its the sexiest language especially when ridan sings!!
I'm sorry, i don't speak english very well, but this song is about the life of a man who comes from the North of Africa. He says that his life is not as he want it to be, because everyone treat him like a foreign, even if he is french.

Here the dream has been betrayed by a currency that isn't mine.
Here the dream has been banned by industrial thinking.
Wether you like it, I don't actually care,
I'm so supposed to play the construction worker (textually : play the trowell)
I made my choice and so be it, I'll be a second Patrick Bruel
[chorus]
You wanna know why the kids lie around down this block ?
I wanna know why the neighbor stares at me every mornin'

@lauig
You wanna know why the school has made me someone bitter ?
I wanna know why here i have trust issues.
Justice ??!!??
Wanna know why deep inside i don't really give it a f**k 'bout what they say ?
The daily life i'm the one living it, most of the time they aim at me.
[Faded Chorus]

I was if kid, I made a bloomer in the bullshit of every these big
Now that I am him, I am so stupid that I press my time
As an orange
I would have wanted to see again Grandfather so that he tells me a beautiful history
I would have wanted to see again Grandfather, has more light there and I am in the black
Just like that I hear the police officer who calls me as an old bag
The back in the wall, I was blocked was the Corsican, a boss of the BAG
Arts27 3 years ago
He says to me: " Pass everything! ", I say to him: " pass What? "
He says to me: " the whole! ", I say to him that I have nothing
He says to me: " Bougnoul! ", I say to him: " Fon-bou! " And I say to him that the Algerian
He says to me: " in the police post! ", I say to him: " why? ", I knocked as a mackerel
I made eyes of fried whiting and I have net
For a herring

Sweet France so likes me that it calls me in every bend!
I have not the profile of a president, for them, I was born to be bandit
Asks Jacques the Fatalist if I have the notch to be also big
Here the dream was betrayed by a currency that is not mine
Here the dream was banished by industrial thoughts!
That that pleases you in fact I me in madmen, we would
want So much that I play the trowel
I chose and it is so, I shall be the second...

You want to know why the kids stay all at the bottom of this building?
I want to know why the neighbour considers at me " chelou "(shady), every morning!
You want to know why the school made of me anybody embittered?
I want to know why here I lack confidence
The justice?!
You want to know why at the bottom, me in madmen a little
Of all that they say to me?
The everyday life it is me who saw him, mostly it is me at whom they aim

It is very very difficult to translate because there are so many puns and tricks with the sound of the words but I'll give it a shot, here it goes :
I was so kiddo, didn't notice the stupidity of all those big guys, now that I'm old i am so dumb i squeeze my time like an orange (i'm in a rush).
I wish i could've seen grandpa again for he told me a story.
I wish i could've seen grandpa again, there's no light I'm, in the dark.

All of a sudden I heard the officer howling at me like (i'm) an old sac
My back against the wall, i'm blocked, it was the Corsican, boss of the SAC (SAC was a violent right-winged paramilitary police)
He says "give everything" I say "give what ?"
He says "the whole" I say "i got nothin"
He says "Bougnoul" (insult toward maghrebians) I say "joker" and I say "here i got nothin" (pun with "Algerian")
He says "to the HQ" I say "why did ya hit me like a mackerel"
lauig 1 year ago
@lauig
(Follows a few sentances about the beating and the escape using puns with different fish names and then it's th chorus)
D'ya want me to tell the daily life of a Maghrebian when you're twenty ? [4 times]
The "Douce France" (sweet old France) loves me so much she interrogates me at every turn.
I ain't got the profile of a president, to them I was just born to be a con.
Ask "Jacques the fatalist" if i've got what it takes to be that great
