Jay, you can set the tuning to C Concert, b-flat, e-flat or whatever. I think you can set to where certain notes or turned off according to how you'd like. Of course since I'm a sax player, I haven't really explored that with the EWI.
You can also set it to Sax, clarinet, flute, and even trumpet fingering.
I am a keyboardist that wants to buy an ewi, but not being a horn player, I imagine there is a pitch controller program, like Auto-Tune, or device that can filter out my 'wrong' notes and just let the right ones out. Like if i'm playing in Cm, and I play an 'e', it will come out as an e flat(assuming I program it to play in Cm). maybe the ewi can already do this? any help? Jay.
Hey - love that. Can I ask you a couple of questions? I'm a longtime tenor player who's recently picked up a the USB Akai EWI. I'm finding it hard to get used to not being able to put so much air through it. I feel like I'm blowing up a car tire and my lungs are going to suffer. Any tips? Also... to get that feel of motion through a modal piece, you're superimposing changes? Right? Beautiful playing... so much feel. Love it.
what scales did you practice to play like that kinda scofield style ...i want to play like that too!!!!
