it pains me to hear how you tuned it. It tunes to DGBE since it's a baritone, other ukes tune to GCEA. But the chords on a uke are different than a guitar, like finger placement and stuff
Please tune it to DGBE. Sounds like it is out of tune. But other that that you got a good start.

What a great present. I got a used baritone a couple weeks ago. I usually play a soprano ukulele. Have fun- you are doing fine.
